  1. The city needs a couple of "Park and Rides" somewhere over the dark side maybe. When I visit town, I always park in the big temple car park near the lights on Second/South Pattaya Rd and either walk or take a baht bus to where I want to go. I'm 80 yoa next birthday and have no problem unless it's raining. Of course some with disabilities can't do this. Fortunately, the supermarkets I use are either on or near Sukhumvit, so I don't go into town much.

Not getting involved seems part of the culture here; also, the laughing may have been a cultural reaction to a bad situation. Haven't looked at the video so can't really judge. I do know many Farangs were shocked by smiling Thais when fleeing the Tsunami.

I can't imagine my missus laughing while someone drowns, so I doubt that it's a cultural thing. Although saying that, on a wet pavement pavement in Jomtien I slipped and went down very hard on my ass. A local woman coming the other way laughed and walked on. All that was hurt was my dignity, but if it had been now, some twelve or so years later, it could have been a problem.

  3. Emphatically NO! There are a lot of innocent people who are rotting in their grave now, murdered by monsters who've been imprisoned for murder and let out early. Even those who've had their death sentence commuted to life imprisonment rarely serve the full life term. I guarantee not many completely innocent people have been wrongly convicted and executed. If they have, it's probably because of their long criminal record.

I also think that those found guilty should be executed not long after being sentenced to cut out these costly appeals. One quick appeal and if it fails, the sentence should be carried out in days in my opinion. I couldn't argue with that if I was a guilty of murder.

Bet you've made the goody goodies on here go into a deep depression. They thrive on being holier than thou.

Do you REALLY need this 'splained to you? Simple: Looks better in photos - more normal and less like an actual criminal. You know, doing the "perp walk" with or without cuffs?

Still doesn't fool anyone that he's cuffed. When I was in the British Army, another guy and I had to escort a prisoner who'd gone AWOL from Anglesey to Catterick. We weren't allowed to cuff the guy (a big Irishman) so it was a long stressful train journey for us in case he tried to do a runner. Fortunately, he was as good as gold.

Now known in that establishment as "Mr. Complain"🤔

Maybe going into competition with that new place that that bolshy cretni Gordon Ramsey's opening there. I learned early on that in this country, the customer isn't always right.

I find that UK people have the lowest standard of proficiency in the English language in the English speaking world. I think they assume that they are number one. I have rarely met an English person that knows "lose is not loose" nor " have is not of"

I agree with a lot of what you say, but with the UK having so many young left-wing teachers and the country being the melting pot that it is, it's hardly surprising.

  8. Several years ago now a mate of mine jumped off a baht bus to help a Thai woman getting battered by a Thai guy. Both of them started in on my mate, quickly joined by half a dozen motorbike taxi guys. He's no wimp but he ended up getting beat up pretty badly, especially by the woman.

    no dress shoes is understandable.

but no sneakers = you never exercise

best of luck with the overweight issues, diabetes and all the rest of it while you're bar hopping in flip flops.

Agree with your observation "No sneakers  =  you never exercise. I wear trainers every other day to go for my jog around the golf course perimeter, however, after nearly seventeen years living here, my shoe size has gone from ten to twelve (UK). I put it down to walking around barefoot or wearing sandals most of the time.

Never go to the dump so will never know

You've never visited here either. Just exist in darkest Isaan wishing that you could, but the wife won't let you. So you take it out on those of us that love Pattaya. I've been here getting on 17 years and wouldn't live anywhere else in Thailand.

i would never drive in BKK......let alone hang out there....but thats me ????

Tried driving through Bangkok twice using Garmin GPS. Got hopelessly lost twice. First time ended up in Monument Square. That was 16 years ago, it was luck more than judgement that I'm not still crawling around their now. Took me eight hours to get from Pattaya to Kanchanaburi!
