  1. Yeah, just spent 4 days in Pattaya and noticed it's dead everywhere. I used to live here in the late 2000's and boy have things changed for the worse. Girls just want ladies drinks - and hence 75% are fat now. Walking Street died 10 years ago when they went upmarket. Then LK Metro took over as the place to go. Now I noticed LK Metro is dead as they went upmarket too with their high end GoGo's. I can see why the clubs are pumping though and full with freelancer girls - the girls don't have drink quotas to give back to the bar, and and can have fun in the club until they see something they want to go home with. Viva la club revolution..
  2. Change back to the old version of Express VPN, not their proprietary VPN protocol - its not as detectable by websites.
  3. I would just move out, but further away than the same condo building. Don't worry about a Farang threatening you to take it to court - it wont happen. He probably does not have a permit to get income from a rental in Thailand and not paying any taxes to the government anyway.
  4. I renewed my Australian Passport last week in Oz. I paid $550 for accelerated processing. Filled out online, then went into a special Post Office for accelerated processing with my photos at 10am on Monday morning. Received a text the next day on Tuesday about 10am saying the passport was ready to collect - if you get the app in before 12pm, you can usually get it the next day.
  5. Don't look on Agoda, they are a ripoff, but if you insist realise you will not see the real price until you give over your payment details at checkout and that is when they add on their cut! You can't go by the advertised price when you search on their site. I have stayed at Bourbon Street a few months ago - Soi Ekamai (can walk to Ekmmai BTS). Rooms were good and around 1000 - 1200 Baht a night. They don't really do online booking - you call them.
  6. Never gonna last at that price, traffic/pollution is too bad for this type of open top service, Baht Bus mafia will shut it down if they drop the prices and it gets popular....another fail.
  7. Only number given to contact until Thursday 7th is +66 (0) 2352 3000. Office open again on Thuesday 7th.
  8. They Office is closed this week I believe - email received stating they all had COVID. Sounds very convenient to me.

  10. Tew's Barber Shop's - about 600 Baht, the only one I trust in Bangkok with my luscious locks. You always see foreigners in these shops and there's a reason why - they are good!
  11. I expect the OP to be dead in the next 5 years.
  12. Off to China it is then, lol. Good decision by US. They crashed so many Huey's here, can you imagine them trying to operate F-35's. And China is so hooked into Thailand now, no way they were going to give them F-35's.
  13. Thailand is a haven for criminals. No criminal checks on Thai Elite Visa, so its getting worse now, and those crims with money are abusing the Thai Elite Visa system,
  14. Rubbish, taxi drivers have been doing this for the past 20 years I have lived in Thailand. I just don't use them. Nothing to report here, move on.
  15. Treasure Factory, 2nd hand goods in Bangkok have loads.
  16. Lol, reminded me of the microwave oven thrown from the 10th floor of Center Condo into the carpark about 15 years ago - another quality condo in Pattaya.
  17. Yeah, it is him: https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/thais-sign-petition-kick-mate-nate-country/ He certainly acts like a .... when put under pressure..Guttless.
  18. I got the official taxi ticket downstairs at Suvarnabhumi airport about 7 years ago, and did not notice the taxi had two meters. I had done the run to the same hotel in Silom a few times and it was always about 300 Baht on the meter, and I would give over the cash for the tolls. When we arrived at the hotel and the concierge came over to open my door ( 5 Star Hotel), I went to look at the meter to pay and it was 450 Baht, and the trip was as quick as the previous month. I then noticed the two meters with the normal legal one turned off and another shonky one below turned on. I complained to the concierge about it and he just shrugged, like a typical guttless slime bag. I just paid the higher fair, and never took a taxi again from the airport. On Thailand Elite now, so no longer an issue. But, always check there is only one meter in the taxi!

  20. Phuket has always been a <deleted> hole for taxi mafia. Good luck if you decide to live there.
  21. Grab around Sukhumvit is <deleted> if you want to go out of the city to say a golf course. They will cancel on the way to you if they get a ride on the side of the road on the way. Grab are normally normal taxis looking for short high fare rides. From outer golf course back to Sukhumvit seems to be ok with Grab, Just have all 3 apps. Its Thailand, land of disorganisation. Grab is mostly taxis (scum), Bolt private drivers, InDrive I have installed, but not used yet.
  22. Never use Agoda anymore - the prices they advertise per night, is not what they actually charge on check-out. They add their service charge(10%) plus VAT on check-out, making the room a lot more expensive per night than the listed price..
  23. I arrived at 12:30pm yesterday, and boy was it busy! I have lived here for 18 years, go in/out of Thailand 4 or 5 times a year, and I can't say when I have ever seen it this busy at the airport. I think people would have waited at Immigration or Visa on Arrival for at least 45 min before even getting to baggage collection. I had Fast Track, so was through Immigration and in my limo within 30 min, but I feel for people stuck in those queues.
