Surachate was also told to abide by the laws and rules transparently, spend his time on government service, to protect official secrets, be polite, help other officials and refrain from delegating his work to the others.
in other words - shut up or it won't be your car next time
official secrets lol, our corruption must never be revealed to the public

That is 'less than competence' by Thai Immigration. I had to attend the Chaeng Wattana premises last time because I had a new passport and the officer told me it would be fixed after my attendance and I could do online reporting next time. He was 'economical with the truth', and that denied me the opportunity to complain to the highest officer in immigration about the inefficiency of their processes.
Chaeng Wattana is a terrible location with no easy public transport, traffic jams when traveling there by car and huge parking problems because immigration processes take too long for all users. Attending Chaeng Wattana by car takes 5-6 hours because of traffic jams, the 400+ queue at Immigration before open and the long processing times for visa extensions for applicants who have already visited more than 10 times for visa extensions. Approval should be routine and quick where applicants have been through the process multiple times.

6 cases in the UK and Thailand only one or two
seriously ?
I think someone is telling porkies
-
did any of the other passengers on this plane know about this
I certainly would not want the be breathing recycled air from this person
maybe I'm wrong but if you want to spread a virus between lots of people there is no better way to do it than on an airplane
I am not wrong - just leaving it open for a counter argument since I am not an expert
I hate plane travel for this very reason - I am also aware of living in a place that has a huge turnover of visitors and tourist from all over the world and how risky that is, one person on a flight spreads it to 300 then the 300 go mingle all across Thailand
we are exposed to this living in a country were millions of people visit from all around the world - everything you touch and interact with has been touch by someone - think about were you put your hand every day - MB taxi - Baht bus - BTS (huge one) door handles etc etc - yes dramatic I am being but nasty things arrive in Thailand and are spread very easily

It's what happens when a population is educated into ignorance and a focus on obedience and compliance.
It makes it very easy for their "betters" to pull off stunts like this (and the river water pushing) giving the impression, to the no nothing multitudes, that they are "on the case".
The masses thinking that what works to keep the dust down, in the "yard", will work in this instance.
The upper hierarchy has been getting away with it for decades.
I genuinely believe that they believe this is going to have an effect - go figure

Somebody should get their a++e in gear and try tackling the causes of the pollution.
someone needs a calculator and an educated person to use it then explain to these buffoons how stupid they are
as usual Thailand trying to address the effect rather than the root cause
this latest "stupid" is right up there with trying to clear flood water with boat engines

Now in the UK that would refer to something rather different, although they could be found easily in Bangkok
this is pretty much how Thailand deals with most things - do nothing to prevent it happening then do something totally ineffective to deal with it when it does
It's like road safety - fatal crashes all over the country by people driving like lunatics, what do they do - set up a static checkpoint checking for helmets

I am personally not opposed to the idea, but how do you prevent it from being either a carbon copy of the government or the exact opposite, depending upon when in the HoC election cycle you would elect the HoL?
their function remains the same - how they are selected changes, it is expertise not party driven

Without an upper house to scrutinize, check, and challenge; suggest amendments to wording etc etc the lower house would be without checks and balances.
You, and an alarming number of other posters who like your post seem to think that's a good idea! An unchecked lower house - hmm.

I changed address and TM30 was done, I did not do a TM28, 90 day report next week so see what happens, I remember reading that the TM30 was enough at Jomtien and they just tossed the TM28 as they both mean pretty much the same thing in terms of address
will report back what happens

The Thai people keep backing
well I was going to go off on a rant but what's the point
we all know what it is
There are a huge number of people enriching themselves - been going on for decades and will never change ………………………..unless - I'll keep that to myself

This current government needs to realise that part of democracy involves opposition and alternative views, it is fundamental for democracy to work, if you don't accept that then there is no democracy, opposition is healthy and keeps all voices heard

It just suggests, probably tongue-in-cheek, not to complain about their English proficiency...which also suggest that they're trying to speak English best they can. Why are certain people getting so upset?
I am far from upset, I just find it amusing in a country that relies on foreign tourism making a statement like that - simple solution - go somewhere else

Only because I have witnessed too many Falang get upset or even yell at staff at various places because they cannot understand English. Calling them stupid and the such.
It can be frustrating but not really their fault. Blame the government for not making them learn English in school.
If you want good English interaction with mostly polite people, go to the Philippines 90% there speak.
simple solution - go somewhere else
go somewhere that realises that they rely on tourism and actually make an effort

56 minutes ago, webfact said:Don’t complain about our English, If you can’t speak Thai”
Nothing wrong with that statement if you are serving Thai people "but" you are entertaining and serving foreign tourists who generally "do not speak Thai", if you want tourists to continue to come here then make and effort to be good hosts - if your business is not doing well then blame the tourists/customers - typical Thai attitude of not owning their own issues and blaming everyone and everything else.
So your statement is one of blatant ignorance and stupidity
Lets refrase your statement to what it actually means
In our country of Thailand were tourism makes up almost 20% of our GDP do not come here on holiday unless you speak Thai - go somewhere else
New test for tourists at airports/borders - a Thai language test - if you don't pass you will be deported

This virus is serious <deleted>,
Key things so far
- can be passed human to human (very serious)
- 14 day incubation (no symptoms for 14 days)….BUT CAN BE PASSED TO OTHER PEOPLE DURING THIS TIME
This is serious <deleted> and Thailand need to be honest and up front about what is going on
DON'T COVER THIS UP PEOPLE WILL DIE
Do I have confidence in the current administration being open and honest and taking effective measures
…….NO...….. I do not
Thailand needs to realise that China has quarantined pretty much an area equal to the whole of Thailand
This is not something you need to be keeping quiet in case it effect tourism
