  1. The few dobys i have seen in Thailand have small heads and noses compared to the good breeds. All have had hip problems too,and i suppose you get what you pay for. When i lived in UK mydoby was 600gbp and thats 15+ years ago.

Check if they have papers of mother and father and do they have a kc club in Thailand as you want some form of gaurantee with that type of dog as inter breeding have caused some problems in the dogs.

One of the most important parts of owning a doby is to give it excersise and they do loads of dog poo so please dont be the typical thai who trains the dog to shit everywhere but their area, you have a big reponsibilty to clean the area where they crap as there are diseases that kids can catch off poo.

My gut feeling is that you have a greatly reduced chance of getting a good doby in Thailand but tell me if i am wrong posters.

  2. That being the case all those retirees who served in WW11 and subsequent conflicts would, quite rightly IMHO, be some of the best rewarded pensioners.

They have looked at the moral contribution to the country and then taxed the butt out it! Why do you think you see all the ex-military, old duffs, doing bodyguarding when they should be retired and enjoying their lives for once before they die?

All the ex military----------------------------- my mate has over 1200gbp per month and retired at 47

who are these old duffs working as body guards????? Surely not ex military as the retirement age many times is below 50

Excuse me if i have not understood your reply

  3. Another transfer window closes and yet again Ashley and co have done nothing to strengthen the team. Even though we are currently top of the league the squad still looks threadbare and I doubt it would be able to attain a top 2 finish if we have an injury crisis similar to last season.

Nevertheless, I'm glad that we've managed to hang onto S Taylor, Jonas and on current form Nolan. Provided that these guys remain focussed, they should be a cut above at this level. Also I'm glad that we resigned Lovenkrands as I think that he'll get us a few goals this season.

The players didnt go for 1 reason,no one offered them stupid wages like Newcastle did.Thats why your team is in turmoil, crazy wages for average players and some are happy to warm the bench when the bullets are flying, and Owen is fit very quickly since his move to that london supporting club in Manchester.

  4. I think the eldest daughter, in rural culture, should pay some maintanece towards her family.

In modern Thai culture there normally isn't any money paid towards the family unless they are in financial difficulites.

I was always led to believe that the youngest daughter paid the most? And that comes from a selection of younger female siblings.

I am expecting to be corrected here.

Your're right, The youngest daughter is ultimately responsible for the parents until they die. In exchange, she will inherit the family house and/or land. The other brothers & sisters all get a slice of land although less than the youngest daughter......and after 20 years, I've never seen a Thai husband get the dowry back. I've only heard of it and I've been to many weddings within my wife's immediate family.....and every one did give a dowry, never less than 1/2 mb. (bargirls are the exception, no Thai would pay one, in fact, I don't know any Thai's married to bar/ex-bargirls.)

Now how would YOU know if a thai guy is married to bar/ex bar girl. Many many karaoki bars have hookers and only thais go there,so all them girls, all over Thailand, not just Pattaya,Phuket etc, will not marry a thai man at some time. What about many many thai lady singers in thai bars who sell their bodies too.I am afraid your comments are based on no reality about thai life whatsoever.I could take you to many places in Pattaya, restaraunts, furniture shops, carrefor etc etc who have ex bar girls working and you wouldnt know,so please talk with some knowledge and sense.

  5. why on earth would a falang want to support his wifes/girlfriends family is beyond me. OK if you have a lady from shall we say the darker side of pattaya then yes, your a customer, and customers have to pay for a service 100%.but IMHO to carry on theses payments when you are married or in a realaship akin to marriage is just another form of prostitution, outrages. if a falang and his partner are in Europe for instance, and she has a job then yes if she wants to send some of her money back home to help OK, its her wages to do what she wants,as long as she helps out with some of the costs in the home.if your in Thailand and she lives with you and you pay for everything and she still wants an allowance tell her to go get a job, like 80% of Thais do.like i said Early if your a customer you pay, girlfriend or wife NO WAY.

So if a lady is from soi khoa noi or nermplab or soi khoa talo they will expect farang to pay for her mum and dad, unless the darker side means something else, pray tell.Or do you mean somewhere in Pattaya that gets electricity cut off periodicaly.

  6. I use to collect Trolls when i was little, little solid plastic dolls with big coloured hair :)

Seriously though, I got dropped off by a Taxi on Soi Nana a Couple of weeks ago, it looked a pretty rough area to me.

I don't think I will be going again.

Fascinating. Spoken by someone that lives in the asshol_e of Thailand, the sleaziest place on earth.

If you think Pattaya is the sleziest place on earth,i suggest you get out more, unless you are a NUTTER,hello nutter

  7. Well I like it here, been here for 8 Years, I never want to go home, its cold, boring, expensive and everyone is miserable in the UK.

    I am staying put !!! :)

Think i will stay put to lol,as what can uk offer that i havent got here and much cheaper to have a good lifestyle and not have to wor wor wor wor, think i am trying to say work but it wont come out hehehehehe

  8. Although I understand the sentiment, I would like to disagree with those who suggest that people who enter the water be fined when red flags are posted. People should be informed of the risk, but then left to decide whether to take that risk or not. The signs could post the number of drownings this season as a more forceful warning.

As a TV member commented on a related thread, if you have the proper respect for the ocean's power, know how to dive under waves, and can power swim to calmer water if in trouble, then you should be all right. I go in the water every week throughout the year at Kata and Kata Noi and it is a wonderful experience, and provides much of the motivation for me to stay in Phuket year-round.

Now if everybody was Superman like you, there wouldnt be any drownings no no life guards needed too.Have you ever been in the series BAYWATCH

  9. My thoughts ??

It's not Rocket Science, anyone with half a brain would tell you on the morning after the draw was made, if there wa sallowed to be serious, seriuous trouble, there will be & what happened ?? There was allowed to be by the Met's decision to reduce Millwall's Ticket allocation which leads in sequence to silly Internet rumours which turn into full scaled Riots.

How on Earth can the Met think that reducing Millwall's Ticket Allocation & having a possible 600 people minimum, form both sides, on the Streets of East London wihtout Tickets, with the reputation & history of both Clubs, is a good idea as opposed to having them in a controlled Zone IE The Stadium ??

    Utter madness.

Obvioulsy you have to condone the actions of both sets of Fans, 2 Men got stabbed for crying out loud, but the Metropolitan Police have undoubtedly fcuked up big time with their plan of how to handle that Game last night..

This is a bad, bad Game with history of violence for over 100 Years now, 100 Years !!!!!!

I was listening to BBC London's Commentary & the Commentators were genuinely afraid as at one time, & i quote " There appears to be fighting going on all around us, if anyone is listenign to this & have their Children here at this Game, take them Home now " which was about 10 mins before we equalised then Bradley Allen saying " I have never in my life experienced a feeling of such hatred & anger at a Football Match in my life "...

There was running battles outside the Ground for 5 hours last night, 5 hours !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How can that be allowed to happen with todays Technology ??

How can the Met allow that to happen in the middle of London, one of the biggest Cities in the World & one that is in the top 3 " high alert " Security threats on the Planet ??

As far as the rest is concerned & whta SKY are showing etc, big deal, ok you can't run on to the Pitch anymore but that's all it was, running on the Pitch, euphoria at equalising & leading in a Game which we haven't beaten our most fiercest rivals in 19 Years...

No Millwall Players were attacked, one had a V sign flicked at him & again i'm not condoning it but come on, Football is a passionate Game, passions to sometime spill over but there was much more to be worried about last night than a couple of Pitch invasions by around 1% of the actual attendance..

West Ham were the worst behaved supporters that came to Stoke last season, but the Stokie lads laughed at their behaviour,as many were huge fat buggers that would have died of a heart attack in 2 minutes of fighting.Apparently, some of the old ICF were out to meet up with some n40 lads, which hasnt happened for years

  10. Okay, so it seems like you're all kind of saying that there are two main reasons for firing of western teachers:

    1. Not good at teaching

    2. At odds with Thai cultural values

    Is that pretty much it?

    Well i didnt read that????

Seems a whole variety of reasons, just like most jobs in a foreign country

  11. What a great result at the end of such a tragedy. The no appeal or release factor is so important too. And sends a very powerful message.

I have sadly, zero doubt, that had it not been for the work Richard & Mary-Jane did behind the scenes, stirring up press interest & keeping Dales story in everyones mind, that this case would have quietly disappeared & these 3 would have received a lesser sentance.

    100% right there Boo

Very happy that those evil people get life in jail, and i hope you have some closure.

May they rot in hel_l,but we must not forget that there are many many lovely thai people here.

  12. Too easy, im gonna tell it to her straight up and end it. If she has her reasons then so be it, but they have to be pretty good. I have had enough of this. I am sick to death of not knowing anymore. I need to break it up clean with her without any unsolved pieces hanging around.

    Number one rule

Dont have gf/sponsor/bed partner if you dont live here. You call her your gf,and you do not live here,is she bg

    and where is she from??

  13. I find it interesting that some posters will discuss how the Thais look down on people but then go and do it themselves in their very next breath.

But perhaps I misunderstand their intent and its not to insult the Thais, merely empathize with the attitude?

We all have opinions, nothing wrong in that.I would never insult thais but will speak my mind on how middle class thais treat non white people, its endemic in society here, and most racism is from Bangkok including MANY farangs.

My views are based on 7 years living in Thailand and visiting many places, and thats why i hate Bangkok so much, with their snobbery.I dont even believe that Bangkok is representitve of Thailand as The Land Of Smiles, unlike many other wonderful places.

  14. I think Lao women look pretty in their traditional skirts :) Very friendly as well, I was 'velly handsom' in Vientienne as well, but this time maybe they actually meant it?

If you are Hammer from Cherry bar they lie lol lol lol

  15. It might depend on which part of Thailand are you living and which Thais are you talking to.

For what i know,Thais are condescending about Laotians, despise the Khmers and detest the Burmese, but they reluctantly respect the Vietnamese.

You seem to be spot on from my experiences, and the hi-so dont like anybody thats brown or dam

  16. Tattoos typically indicate a personality disorder.

There isn't one good reason to get one, but dozens of reasons not to.

Have to agree with you post but we do all have choices.Personally i think they look gross and after many years, when your skin shrivels they look even worse.Nothing turns my stomach more, when i see old geezers with loads of tatoos and trying to show them off under their rolls of skin and hairs urghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  17. The rules changed recently. To get a full pension (when you're 65) you need 30 years of contributions. Best get in touch with the Pension Service as above.

I think you will find that this starts from April 2010.

  18. It's very hot here at the moment. I'm talking well over 20 degrees. Maybe even topping 30 in some parts. Crazy times.

How's the rainy season treating you all?

Rainy season great, not much rain, nice and hot with a cool breeze, food amazing, women hot and beer cold, how is crappy England

  19. Irish Clock, nice, well appointed, restaurant, street parking, Only 8 or 10 rooms 850B

or Top Mansion, spartan but clean, parking lot, ~75 rooms 350B

Both on the same street about 100 meters apart. Both have websites.

Many bars within walking distance -- can't miss 'em.

Double down on this area<Nickthegreek, between Irish clock and Top Mansion there was(is) a place call Day and Night, is where all the sweet young things hang out at. least it was there back in March on my visit. Good luck hope you have a great time up there. :D:)
