Far LESS than perfect, and I'll explain why...

Do NOT trust seller ratings. Many have been falsely raised. Here's how...

Companies have been formed with the single purpose of raising the seller's feedback score, with fake purchases.

Unfortunately, one of these companies has used my name and address, and I now have a large shopping bag full of dozens of small shipping envelopes from Lazada and Shopee, with junk I didn't order.

The company hires people to make hundreds of small orders for items costing less than 5-10 baht; hair bands, plant ties, cheap barrettes, pins, etc. One order might contain just two plant twist-ties or two stickers... anything that costs less than a couple of baht. The employee might make 50, 100, or 200 orders at day to the same vendor using other people's addresses as recipients. The company pays for these orders, and the product goes to someone else (like me.) Then the employee fills out the feedback forms. 50, 100, 200 feedback forms for the same vendor, giving him high marks.

Anyone want a big bag full of cheap junk?  Didn't cost me anything, but nothing I can use.

Not really sure how this is possible. The ratings are for the product not the seller although the seller gets rated..

The op os shopping for lowest price i would recommend messaging the sellers and ask if its in stock if not move on

  2. Wanted to share this and curious if anyone had the same experience?

Foolishly i lost my id and needed a replacement.  I went to the office that originally issued my id with my Thai passport and a copy of my id.

Went to the counter signed a few forms and waited the queue for my photo and digital fingerprints.

My turn for the photo and prints the lady said they didn't match. I asked to try again and same issue not matching.

She then had her supervisor come over and he said my wife needs to sign a paper as a guarantor.

Was thinking if my wife wasn't available then what?

My wife came signed the guarantor paper and all the problems went away .

When I bought land in Kalasin, the officer at Somdej Land Department Office was a bit unsure when I presented my ID card, so she asked me to check with her boss. The boss just said to the effect that he has a Thai ID card so he is Thai. I don't recall ever having to present my naturalization certificate and never bother taking a copy with me when doing anything official. Yesterday, when opening a bank account at SCB in Kalasin, I just presented my ID card. There was a lot of faffing about though because their system did not seem to accommodate those with middle names, but finally got it sorted.

Have any others encountered middle name issues? I know some of you have many more than one middle name. I can't be arsed changing my name though as that would open a whole new can of worms.

I had my middle name removed from my id and tabien baan.

I was considering opening an Interactive Brokers account, but reading these posts, it makes me wonder whether I will be able to transfer money to an IB account from my Thai bank accounts. All my funds are located in Thailand and I don't have any overseas bank accounts. I did not realize that transferring money overseas as a Thai citizen would be an issue.

It shouldn't be a issue i transfer to vanguard and citibank all the time .

You can just walk in the bank and do a swift transfer something like 400 baht with bangkok bank.  Online seems to be where some are having issues .

Tell this to the software guys. The software asks for my (sender's) relationship to the recipient, and I have the choice of own, family, friend or business. This is my own account at the overseas bank. A month or two ago it worked when I just chose "family" but they have closed that "loophole" now and actually compare the account names.

The app needs to be setup for international transfer and certain documents need to be submitted. If you havent went through this process its not going to work.  Totally different from the way we do domestic transfers here where there is no setup involved

Here is a banking question: As a foreigner working in Thailand, I can "repatriate earnings", i.e. send (part of) my salary back to my own account in my home country. Once I get Thai citizenship, how would I transfer money out?

I send money overseas with my bank app never a issue especially if you send it to your own account.

Really shouldn't be any different citizen or foreigner
