  1. Hi, I know Berkeley School can offer a 50% discount on tuition fees if you register your child under their foreign passport for certain nationalities. I have also seen comments on here on older threads that some other International schools may also offer similar discounts. Does anybody know of other Schools in Bangkok that do/might?
  2. We have a Mortgage with UOB and a few weeks they called me to say that the info they have on file with UOB doesn't match the info on Citi account. The existing UOB account had my wife's number as my contact number, we updated it on the call. Just tried to create an account on TMW and the sms code didnt come to my phone, but went to my wife's. So I guess they didnt update it. Says I cannot create an account as mobile number already exists in another record. I have to go into a branch, or call a number. Think I'll wait a few days, as no doubt the lines will very busy now.
  3. Looking for the name of these Thai hanging decorations if they have one. Google is failing to come up with a specific name.
  4. They only had one slot available for Visa on Friday, so cant change it. I could go early in the morn to try and get the 90 day done first without an appointment, but knowing what the queuses like don't wanna risk not getting seen before 10am. Also have to take the the wife and kid on the day of visa extension, so dont really wanna be hanging around from the wee hours. I've made an appointment for the 90 report the day before, so think I'll do that so I can be in and out, even if I have to go two days in a row. Thanks for all the replies.
  5. Unfortunately its overdue, so I need to do it first. I think I'll make a trip the day before, as they have an appointment slot free then.
  6. I have an appointment to renew my marriage visa at Chaengwattana on Friday at 10am. I also need to do my 90 report before, but there are no appointment slots before 10am for this. Does anyone know if I can turn up for the marriage visa appointment and they will also process my 90 day report at the same time? Or do I have to do it separately via different desk/officer and they wont combine the two? Thanks
  7. Thanks for all the replies, however can anyone help with the original question? "- TM30 form Part 1 (register her address) - Needs her ID and Blue Book - TM30 form Part 2 (register me at the address) - Does she need my passport or a copy? Submit at Chaeng Watthana is that is, am I missing any steps or forms?"
  8. Yes that's correct, as I mentioned she was unemployed at the time. My friends were surprised, because they had been following a certain guide and checklist which told them to include photos, emails, txt messages, etc to prove the relationship. They thought my application would be denied when I told them what I supplied with the application. However on the UK Gov website, it specifically said to not send any such documents. I guess the rent agreement in her name and my Visa and Work Permit was enough to prove the ties here, as that's all I supplied along with the very short letter saying we had been together 6 years. They also rang her up and asked her questions for around 10 mints. This were things such as how to spell my full name, what is my job and what does it entail, where my parents lived, what were their names, what dates were we planning to go, where we were planning to go when there, etc.
  9. Well I disagree and believe its correct to worry over each requirement and ill tell you why. Last year I went to CW to change the reason for my extension of stay from work to marriage. I was told I cannot change the reason for extension of stay because I came into the country so many years ago on a Non-B and I need to change to a Non-O visa. (this is legally fine as I understand, you can extend and change the reason for extension of stay indefinitely). They said they would only grant me a new extension of stay if I paid them a 15k bribe! So if immigration officials are open to demanding bribes from you when you have all documents in order, the chances of it happening when you dont have all your required docs are surely even higher.
  10. I'm not worried about a fine, I'm worried about having my application denied
  11. It may be the owner of the residences reasonability to file a TM30. However if I need it to apply for a new extension of stay, and turn up without it and the Immigration Officer asks for it, and I state "I haven't got one. its not my reasonability, its my wife's". This is unlikely to go down well and the chances of getting a new extension of stay is thin.
  12. I'm applying for a new extension of stay, which I believe I need a TM30 for when applying.
  13. I applied for UK Visa for my then Girlfriend in 2016. She had no job at the time so I was the sponsor. It was pretty simple, and I sent exactly what they asked for on the UK Gov website. I had read threads about people supplying reams and reams of documents such as such as, photos, email messages, etc. However on the UK Gov website, it stated (at that time at least) to send only what they asked for, which I did. This is what I sent. (this was 2016, may have changed?) Girlfriends Passport and Copy Girlfriends ID card and copy Short Letter from myself explaining why I'm paying for her (as we have been together for 6 years and going to visit my family for Xmas and do some tourist stuff) My passport and copy My work permit and copy Copy of my work contract Our Condo rental contract and copy (which is in her name) 6 months of my Thia bank statements showing enough savings to pay for both our trips and monthly salary payments (went to the bank to get printouts) Print out of email from my parents confirming we will be staying with them (So less spending money needed) Filled it in online and paid via paypal on the 23rd Sep, she went to apply at the office on Soi 21 on the 28th Sep, they rang her up 2 days later and asked her questions for approx 10 mins about the application (double checking facts it seemed) and the visa was ready to pick up on 7th Oct. My post from the time here:
  14. We moved house in December. I went to UK in August for a week. This was on new passport, with extension of stay carried over from old passport.
  15. I need to submit a TM30 form by Tuesday. I've tried using the online application, but haven't received the email for confirmation of registration yet and read on here it can take between 5 days and 5 weeks. I live with my wife in our house, which she is the owner of. My wife is going to submit TM30 in person on Monday (without me), what is the process? TM30 form Part 1 (register her address) Needs her ID and Blue Book TM30 form Part 2 (register me at the address) Does she need my passport or a copy? Submit at Chaeng Watthana is that is, am I missing any steps or forms?
  16. I did that last week and worked fine. Didn't need to give any other documents, I simply applied online as usual and used my new address.
  17. Great idea, might even fit in some cabinets I already have. Thanks
  18. I had a look in Ikea and the only ones with rails for drop files was an ugly metal one and wooden ones with a key and wheels.
  19. I'm looking for a drop file cabinet for home to organise my masses of paperwork. The only ones I've seen in shops are metal ones, or wooden ones with wheels and locks on. I'm looking for something more inconspicuous which will blend in more with home decor. There are 1000s on Lazada/Shopee, but I want to be able to see it before buying it. Any one know of shops selling such cabinets?
  20. I use these: https://smartairfilters.com/th/en/product/sqair-air-purifier/ https://www.lazada.co.th/shop/smart-air They are simple, inexpensive and easy to get replacements filters. If you want all bells & whistles such as auto on, phone app to control etc, then this isn't for you. If your just looking for a simple filter that works, it is. The control is simply a knob with 3 speeds. The tech is simply a fan that pulls air through filter. That's it, and that all you need.
  21. There is guide for investing in Vanguard ETFs from overseas here: https://www.deadsimplesaving.com/blog/guide-offshore-investing-expat-etf/
  22. Issued with a Non O extension? I had no idea there was a home interview involved, don't think I've read that before. Is it to ensure you are a real married couple?
  23. The business agency my company use for visa/permits are saying that they need to cancel my current visa before I can apply to change the reason for my extension of stay from employment to marraige. When you say letter here, is that what you also mean, cancel the previous visa? Or simply a letter stating my last day? The agency are saying this is the process they need to follow: 1. Cancel the working visa before 28th February 2023 2. we have to cancel the work permit at the department of employment on the date of 28th following their rules. 3. You can have the receipt of work permit cancelation on 28th before noon. Then, you can change the reason of stay in the afternoon. So they say I need to cancel my work permit and visa before I can change reason for extension of stay. However, it appears you are saying I can change my reason of stay before my current one and work permit has expired.
  24. Thanks I realise that now, but can I get indefinite extensions of stay based on marriage on that or will I have to get a Non O visa at some point?
  25. OK that's good, that means I can apply for the new extension based on marriage before March 1st which gives me time to sort out something else should things not go smoothly. Will I be expected to change my original visa to a Non O at some point, or can I keep getting extensions based on marriage on a Non B visa indefinitely?
