I don't know about Nationwide, but with the Lloyds App you can scan cheques in using your phone. You don't even need the original cheque, just a decent copy.

Just did a fast-track six month tourist visa in Bangkok. Done in 5 days as promised on the website, but cost 11,200 Baht.

Just wondering how easy it is to get from the Green Mile (coming from Lumpini) into the park? From comments made, there seems to be several 'Yet to be Developed' areas in the way.
Alternatively, is the entrance near the MRT station (Queen Sirikit) now open as this was closed during the development stage?
Thanks

Just tried it with the K Plus App and worked fine, so maybe need to use the App (which is extremely good) instead.

Try Futon Tokyo, but not cheap once you add on shipping, duty and VAT. Despite the cost, really impressed with the futon set which we have had for a month now.

DrJack - You managed to get me and my daughter in the picture waiting for my wife to negotiate some sold-out seats that suddenly became available at the right price. Crazy thing about the weekend is that no vaccine status at all for the Pattaya hotel, mall, restaurants or the (absolutely packed) beach. Sunday, we went to the zoo on the way back to Bangkok. Again no vaccine status required to get in. However, when we did the short boat trip to the lemur island in the zoo, that was for vaccinated people only, with masks and gloves the whole time. Guess the lemurs are more valuable!

Retiree:
Made an online appointment and sent my wife to do the necessary a couple of weeks ago. She said it was extremely busy, but very quick once her appointed time came round. No problems at all. Immigration retained copies of my approved TM47 online submissions going back to when I last entered Thailand, so a good idea if you have these.

Live in Silom, Bangkok, and just made an online appointment for my 90-day report. It has came back with at appointment at Chamchuri Square. Obviously very convenient if I can go there, but have I messed this up? Was expecting the long trek out past immigration.
Have always managed to use the online reporting previously.
Thanks

You can get a detailed pension forecast (with contribution years) by setting up a personal tax account with HMRC:
https://www.gov.uk/personal-tax-account
Pension can be applied for online:

See here for the implications of working or living overseas:

Thanks, but tried without any difference.
It tries to load something for 30 seconds (spinning circle) without any success, then a 'message not found' notification.

Just had a nice week's holiday along the east coast (Trat, Chanthaburi and around Pattaya). Great time to go as places such as Nong Nooch Gardens are very quiet.
I am never sure whether a TM30 is required for domestic travel, but have the App set up so it only takes two minutes. However, this time the App is simply not loading. There is also the Immigration eServices App which is meant to work for the TM30 as well, but this also will not open. No previous problems, and even tried reinstalling the App.
Didn't think TM30s were covered by the 31 July visa exemption, so does anyone have a clue what's going on here?
Thanks for any advice.

Just went at 16.00 (Sunday). Abolutely crazy as main park entrance near Silom MRT station is shut so you have to walk along a narrow and frequently blocked footpath to the side entrance where there is of course no water to buy. Benches have been taped to allow just one person sitting, so tough luck for families wanting to sit together. And quite packed for the time of day.
On a side note, I thought many restaurants and coffee shops would be opening today for sit-down, but the ones where we asked said not for another two weeks.

Having been rejected via the website, I tried again using the App at the end of August. Just received an email with user name and password, and everything seems to be working fine. This is with CW.
I rent an apartment, and all I uploaded was a copy of the front page of my tenancy agreement and passport. The main difference using the App is that it automatically sets your map position, so maybe best to apply when you are at home.

When you log on to check confirmation, there are two links - one for the confirmed application and one for the next appointment.

Quite amazing - I have not managed to get past page 1 for previous reports, but today went through the online process in 15 minutes and received approval just 75 MINUTES later. This is in Bangkok.

Connecting by USB to an XP computer can be a problem given XPs age. On my Nexus 7 I had to enable a setting called Media Device (MTP), so you probably need to do something similar.

Just avoid Coyote. Food is dreadful and every dish tastes exactly the same.

PIN 2 is where you use a fixed password. You either have to change to using a one-time mobile password (PIN 1), or do what I did - set up a new account in my girlfriend's name (using the mobile password), and use that for mobile top-ups etc. I didn't check, but thought that a new account in my own name would just get added to the same online banking account, with the same PIN 2 setting.
I left the PIN 2 on the main account as I wanted to make sure I could still make transfers when out of the country.

Point taken....of course writing about commercialism in Starbucks is not really on. It was just the thought of having to listen to the same CD of chronic Xmas songs until the end of the year that irked me - thought I had at least another couple of weeks of normality left.
-
My local Starbucks in Silom started Xmas today with trees, decorations and the music - and it will be the same awful songs repeated over and over again for the next six weeks!. One of the things I used to love about Thailand was being able to escape the rampant commercialism that Xma in the west has become.

When it closed last December I was told that it would be for 10 months, so October seems about right. For groceries there is Foodland, Villa and TOPS all within walking distance, and its an easy MRT ride to Central at Rama 9.

Sorry, I meant that more times than not it leaves at 0.300 or later rather than the scheduled time of 02.30.

I fly business on the same route every 2 or 3 months. The planes are being upgraded one by one, and a couple of my recent flights have been on refitted planes - much better seats and entertainment systems. By April you stand a very good chance of getting a refitted plane, but no guarantee.
China Lounge in Bangkok is nothing special, but since the flight invariably leaves late (0.300) its useful to have. If you are flying onward from Amsterdam you will probably not be able to use the KLM lounge there (but you can when flying in the other directrion).

Just bought the Sony PRS-350 and it would meet most of your needs apart from the battery.....but then battery life has been superb so far. Plus it reads just about any format (Word, PDF EPub etc) so no need for any conversion. Changing font size is a doddle. But pretty sure you will not be able to find this in Thailand (I looked at Fortune Town).
90 day online reporting after returning from abroad on a re-entry permit
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Just did this online after flying back on 15 August. First two attempts using 15 August as the entry date were rejected, so tried my previous date (three years ago and the one on previous reports) - also rejected. Then remembered that we had arrived just before midnight on the 15th, so did a fourth report using 16 August as the entry date and this was accepted - even though my passport is stamped as the 15th. Not previously had any issue filing online since the new system was introduced. Therefore, if doing online, start early to give yourself time for a few attempts.
