  1. BTW some people miss the point, Elite was never meant to be a mass market program with a million people walking around with an elite visa. Their ideal scenario is around 10 000 applicants per year paying as much as the market dictates 10 000 people are willing to pay. Keeping it exclusive and making it profitable.
  2. True, so maybe it is selling? 2022 they had 5000 new applications but that was almost exclusively in a six month period when Covid restrictions eased. So far in 2023 they've had 10 000 applications (50% of the cumulative amount of holders since 2014) and expect well over 20 000, doubling the amount of holders in one year. One visit at the Elite offices would show you it is exploding, when I first got my visa in 2016, and for years, it was always empty, they knew me by name, now there is queues of people there and sitting in every seat filling applications
  3. American swindles, manages to make it about Thailand on the very first reply TV never disappoints
  4. Err.. no. I had covid here and was given the breakdown of all the costs at the start.
  5. Yes yes clearly a "Thai man" thing no such thing could ever happen in other countries like the UK...???? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9962343/Mass-acid-attack-Cardiff-Victims-pour-milk-soothe-injuries.html https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9605107/Woman-suffers-injuries-face-acid-attack.html https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9784407/Child-ten-three-victims-acid-attack-North-London.html https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9250673/Reward-5-000-offered-hunt-man-blinded-teenager-19-unprovoked-acid-attack.html THose are just the first links that came up, there is plenty more. But have your little cry petal btw if you hate them so much but you are still here surrounded by them because you have nowhere better to go, what does that say about you and your own country? think about it for a minute --------
  6. Weird how we are there almost every night, never had our bills padded, half of Pattaya goes to Tree Town every night at the moment never heard of anyone even disputing a bill, it is generating big cash as one of the few places open during the restrictions but the aggressive drunk Irish guy on St Paddy's they scammed so they could make a couple hundred baht?
  7. You forgot what everybody that has been here long enough has seen countless times - Obnoxious drunk farang refuses to pay bill, walks away without paying, starts fighting with people trying to stop him, carries on when security arrives, gets a slap. Plays the victim
  8. American company PayPal is doing the U-Turn stop using every single opportunity to have your obligatory little "Thailand waahh waahhh" cry
  9. Agreed. I have a UV system you still need residual Chlorine as bacteria doesnt get destroyed until it goes through the lamp and in some parts of the pool might be hours while bateria from the swimmers who just jumped in the pool also not destroyed until hours later . It is also suppose to destroy Algae but with the heat here I found it impossible to control algae with UV alone . Now I just leave it on as a secondary system to have very clean water but keep levels of chlorine as I would without -----------
  10. Of course that is what happened Liam, you know because you were there or more likely you just have to have your little cry about Thais and make up a story because they hurt your feelings and need to have a little dig to feel better even when it is a clearly a Farang who was being an idiot -----------
  11. They didn't "back down" if they never confronted the idiot, they did the right thing by calling the police but you seem to share part of the psyche of the offender and think taking up the challenge is being tough. Pathetic
  12. So many allegedly(s) for something very certain. Thaivisa Farang apologists and clickbait Thai trolling since 2002
  13. Why would they need to do that? There is a functionning ATM inside Thonglor station
  14. I don't need to "believe" I KNOW the dorm is more since I was in both unlike you who is reading about it. I also KNOW other cases with and without insurance, samui is a small place and we had plenty of time to talk about it. My insurance Aetna/Bupa knows even more and they agree. I've been operated for deviated septum at Bumrungrad, broken foot at Samitivej, appendicitis Bangkok hospital I've always been ok with prices here you are given no choice. Dorm is not free or cheaper depending on you having insurance or not. It is dependant on you having social security
  15. Goodness me I have never seen anything like it! Even by internet standards. Unbelievable. We were all there at the same time, for the same thing, my insurance who I have a very good relationship with was also not happy and spoke at lengh to me about it and what is going on there. I base my opinion on being there and having first hand knowledge. While you base yours entirely on assumptions and desperatly trying to make things fit your narative because god forbid you could be on the wrong side of the argument this time. Unreal -------
  16. Nope you would be charged MORE in the dorm than Hospitel but less than private room, my first night was in the dorm and cost well over 10k because you would be charged for a host of other services like a doctor you never saw, nurse fees etc
  17. Good for you but again plenty of ASQs in Samui it is not an ASQ it is a Hospitel. You don't have a choice there is one place they have an agreement with and that is where you go.
  18. That is cute but you are not charged ASQ hotel prices when you test positive. You would know that if you tested positive in Samui. Again you are more worried about being right and not being "shown up" while talking about a particular situation you know nothing about rather than maybe listening to the points someone who lived it is making and realize you don't know everything.
  19. This is why arguing with people on the internet who haven't lived a situation is pointless. You are still billed by the hospital, they have an agreement that they move you to a different location but they bill you, and charge you pretty much what they want. See : "The email goes on to say they are a government hospital who follows the law." He has a dispute with THE HOSPITAL not the hotel
  20. They paid 10k each in fines, not going to make anyone rich. But yeah private villa cocaine and alcohol during a lockdown is PR for the department.
  21. My comment that you quoted was replying to someone who called her "selfish for dying" It has since been deleted.
  22. They isolate once they know they are positive. Samui had very few cases until it ran rampant undetected in Black Bamboo. Anyway, it is completely besides the point, she died she deserves respect not be called selfish when she did nothing wrong.
