  1. Sorry- I'm not trying to be difficult. But if you have actually been slandered and you have witnesses, shouldn't you just go for an initial consultation? Maybe your best question is "can anyone recommend a good defamation lawyer"?

And/or let use know the juicy details for an opinion to whether your waisting your cash. If your Sir Elton John or similar then go for it but if not !!!.

Now that could be used against me in a slander case then  Just wanting a bit of advice first. Secrets will follow later :jap:

Surely that would be libel then? lol.

I think your best bet is a FREE initial consultation with a reputable lawyer. I'm sure that some TV sponsors could give you advice.

    I would hope so :D

  3. What do you mean? What do you want to know? Surely you just go to a solicitor and he does the rest?

Surely surely surely!! Just want some information before i start splashing some cash..... understandable don't you think?

This law company is in the Thaivisa directory bangkoklawonline.com

Why not email them with the details and ask whether you have a case, and what it will cost to prosecute.

    Cheers.

  6. Common slanderous and defamation laws in Thailand. I'd like to hear this myself. Stand-by, my friend - as I'm sure there are a handful of Thai law experts throughout the membership here at TV.

Same here, my lawyer in the UK could follow this up but its a ballache going through him as he isn't here in Thailand. Any lawyers hanging around that want to post their opinion?? cheers TV.

  7. I would say your on a non starter as what you say or has been said will for sure be a mistake of translation.

BUT, what is this slanderous situation.

Not if my employer is a westerner :) So nothing lost in translation there.

  8. I am wanting any advice on how to approach forming a case of "slander" against my employer here in Thailand.I do have writen statements from other employees backing my case up and want to know the best way to proceed with this.

    Cheers

  9. Grand Southern have great rooms for the price (800 Baht a night) also they do an international buffet lunch Monday to Friday for 99 Baht, nice food and tasty. Bars and restaurants :) Som Beer, Fom Nom, dairy hut for decent food...... just a few to start with. PM me if you want anymore information, i am local in Thung Song.

  10. have to reply ...... if you have to go onto an internet forum to ask for those directions, it might be a better idea if you go home. Seriously!

have to reply...... if you have to post such arrogant statements when a member is seriously asking a question and looking for advice, it might be a better idea if you revoke your membership here...... if you cannot say anything good, better say nothing at all.....

And the same to you!! If you can't add anything positive please don't bother posting :D !!

Jump on any motorcycle taxi and tell them " Rot doo bai Padang Basar" (crappy Thai, but it will work) or why don't you head to Sadao?? might be a bit easier. Should be about 40 - 50 Baht and takes between 45 minutes to an hour.

    Hope this helps :)

  11. Good luck finding Prague Powder online here in Thailand.

Many have tried on this forum... I dont think it is available.

What you get locally is likely to be 100% pure. To make it equivalent to Prague Powder, mix it 16:1 with clean sea salt (16 being salt). Then you can use it exactly in the same proportions as Prague for recipes that call for "Prague" or "Instacure" brands.

    Chefheat,

I used royalcoffee-phuket DOT com before, but they seem to be closed now. I also know that a member here called "slackjawchef" has a little side business selling this stuff. Maybe worth contacting him.

  12. If you are standing at the train station facing towards town, turn right down the road towards the mosque. About 300 meters (from the train station) on the left hand side is a place that rents cars, i have rented from them a few years ago and they had full insurance coverage on their cars. If my memory serves me right, it was about 1100 baht a day BUT i took the car for a week.

    Happy driving............

  13. Head towards the train station, turn left and then go down the road about 300 - 500 meters and there will be a travel agent/tour sign on your left hand side. They rent cars with full full insurance coverage, you can also haggle on the price of the rental (don't be shy).
