every time i see a report of an ''acedental'' death of a Farang
i am reminded of my close encounter with one.
i am on the phone to my daughter in the UK, in those days there was
no mobiles like there is today, so i was on the hotel front desk phone.
a young lady rushed up to me and shouted for help ? i looked about
and could not see anything wrong? there was quite a few people waiting for the lift, and i scanned them but saw no obvious threat?
the next min the Thai lady on the desk told me in good english that
the lady was upset as her and her boyfriend have been fighting and
there was no problem.
i informed my daughter there was no problem and hung up and went to sit with my friends. a few hours later there was a leak comming from the direction of the lift ??? i did look at it and it was water.
the next day we were told that the lady who had shouted help to me
had killed herself.
this small lady had somehow got out of the lift top and threw herself
down the lift shaft ? ? ? no official ever contacted me, and it was down as she killed herself, this was about 20years ago, and nothing has changed from what i have seen.

last year my trip to uk had absolutely nothing in my passport i rang the Airport, ''Bio Data'' ???

he has gone back to Phuket and said he near fell over as he got an apology, but he also said with co-vid ect he had approx. 11 A4 forms and documents /taxi/hotel/vaccines x 3/pcr testx2/-Evisa /sandbox /Thailand pass , said he had more documents than shirts.

talking to a friend this morning and he had a right twist on ? he said he had applied for a visa while
back in the UK, he said all went well until he checked his passport as he was due to go to immigration
(for an extension of stay , with his none- imm- o as he has been here 60 days)
it turns out the immigration officers at the airport had not validated his visa ?
he says he is going to immigration as he has been told if it is an error in the stamping at the airport
immigration the immigration in Pattaya can fix it.
but another lad said it will cost him ? but surely if it is an error (he swears he handed his E-Visa document
to the staff at the airport) then he should not be fined for their mistakes.
has anyone had any similar instances of this type of things.

me and the wife had a strange episode last night, we left our hotel and atempted
to withdraw money from the ''ATM ROW'' opposite the soi near our hotel.
after the wife keyed in the amount the machine went dead ? she tapped a few keys
and after a few mins the machine released her card.
we went to another machine and she withdrew 5k Baht and we continued to the resturant two doors down the soi.
the wife all of a sudden jumped up and said something is wrong after looking at her phone ? and she showed me two messages relating to her withdrawl and her attempted withdrawl. she had been charged twice?
the resturant owner went with the wife to check the machine and then to the bank
the bank did nothing, said something about phoning in ten days? they acted as though this was normal? and the ''Faulty machine'' was left as it was for the next PHUKET tourist's to test their luck.

a friend of the wife explained it to us, that all ''Married visa'' was
sent to Bangkok hence the delay, and while there everything is
checked = more work + no bribe= no like...we had an x goverment
employee as witness, they no like big time.
this year she will be with us from day one.

they are doing their best to iradicate the ''marrige visa''
it took me three weeks last year, and every thing that
could be challenged was challenged.
i even had one demand that was the total opposite of
what another farang sitting next to me ,who had what
they said was correct, but he got denied. the wife gave
them 12k everything was then ok,

just move out when it suits (18 000 baht = 2 months late rent @9.000) i have had curtains
done /Aircon / and a few other bits repaired after 8 years, so just swerve it.
after sixteen years and never had a deposit returned saves all the arguing, don't give
them the opportunity . sorry did get one when i asked a thai to take pictures of my
electric meter, and the thai who had been left in charge thought i had employed an investigator, when in fact he was a Thai who had an internet shop who i knew.

back in the days of Test & go type 1, the hotel told me that my wife was not allowed to stay in my hotel room , and as i had to stay in the room just for one night i can understand that, but now i am allowed to go out and all is ok as long as i sleep in my hotel, but what about the wife ? she has two jabs and so have i ,we will be out together every day but will they then try and make us book two rooms ? i asked the Expert on here about six hours ago but still no answer, and my original hotel T& G told me under no circumstances could my wife share the taxi from the airport. it seems a bit iffy if you
can be in someone's company all day but you have to pay for two rooms.
maybe the ''Expert'' will wake up and let us know the Rules...will not be surprised as the old test and go wasn't reeling in the dollar.

What is the purpose of having to be in a hotel (other than money).....it just increases the chance of the infection spreading when I could be at home.
i have got my Thailand pass and have booked my flight, hotel, plus taxi plus PCR tests
plus Insurance/and provided receipts for everything bar my pre-72hour flight; PCR test
i presume as they have still reinstated all previously granted Thailand passes?
as i was granted my Pass before they had the stop-go-stop ? are they accepting these?
and can i still fly on the 6th of Febuary ,

i have just read a ''non imm o visa'' gives the bearer the same '' or similar rights'' as Embassy staff ?
and it entitles people to gain access, (to Thailand)? but like a lot of these posts not only
are they near a month old like the one i noticed, it then advertises co-vid
insurance and help (100 USD) now the truth is ? or lack of it but this article
talks about Farangs Thai family, once again not really explaining what benefits
this grants people to travel easier than those without. does anyone know what the article was alluding to? cheers.

talk about keeping your options open, my trip in Febuary is still Thai passed up, with flight/insurance dates changed but kept my hotel/taxi/ and PCR's. booked and paid for because we still do not know 100%
my now latest Thai pass application is ongoing but at present i wait to see if my new Phuket sandbox along with my 7 night SHA+ hotel plus taxi/ 2x PCR's all paid for in full, will i need these? now they say 15th of January but not 100% confirmed. its like a crowd of spoiled kids are in charge.
without bringing beer into this would it be so bad to just let the people who have followed all the instructions, and paid for everything , will it make that much difference just how many would be visitors does this involve?

i am on my second appliction a friend is filling the details in for me, my first was done by another friend.
and i am wondering if there is any truth in the rumours about the emails outlook and the like ?
i used my outlook email on the first and thought i had got it wrong as no email...two weeks i looked and i thought i would see if hitting some of the boxes to see if it made any difference and up popped
sucessful ? i kept trying this tatic and still no email but accepted eventualy appeared.
it was like it had got stuck and my messing around seemed to unblock it ? but still no email.
i have a gmail adress now and am wondering, how long to fill one out 2 hours? or more?
any one know.

The PSAS Swab test booking are tied to your arrival flight (date / time) and the follow up day 6 test follows on from that - That said, theoretically, if you have already paid for a booking you can contact them to change the dates.
The same for the SHA Plus+ hotel booking - ‘most’ hotels offer free date change which is obviously subject to availability.
if the Test and go was me going to Phuket it may of been a bit different, but Pattaya and
Phuket is no where near each other, and all these gismo's are built so you cannot change
much without the whole thing falling apart.
i have not heard any goverment announcements (and i hear they are in other places) that
if people have to cancel because of '' their'' changes they will make sure people get their refunds. i will ask my hotel/taxi/PCR if i can have my money back,and if any problems they can take it up with the people who keep moving the goal posts,i hear the uk goverment are asking the uk travel agents to wear masks. and that is nothing to do with co-vid.

That is what i am in the middle of now done my test and go all ok for the first week in Feb,
when they start mentioning the 10th of january, i change flight (better book via airline ) ( agent
£280) change Insurance no fee, book new hotel £220 still waiting for refund 1st hotel about
another £200, book more RT PCR x 2 and 1 taxi all already paid, but no sign of refund
at my age there is no chance i can do the new application, so pay an agency again?
i was fully covered and vaccinated but because of a change of mind, ?
everything is up in the air again, i wonder what cute ''phrase'' they will come up with next,

so i could Qualify for Their ''THAILAND PASS'' Their last gismo that they are now threatening to cancel
remember everything had to be cash up front, part of the rules, Don't ya know.

seems a bit of a mare for some of us? i have booked everything, got everything except co-vid, and the other day after hearing the ''Test and go'' had been suspended
i checked my SHA+ hotel website and first thing i saw was a punter describing the hotel as stealing his money!!!
his write up says they would not even speak to him. hung up. now considering i have my flight, my insurance, my hotel, my non o visa, my RCP test
if Prayuth cancels the Thai pass T&G will we all get refunds for all the things we have had to buy in order to get the Thailand pass+ T&G , will all those people who are out of pocket by about 1000 pounds + be prepared to take a chance on traveling to Thailand again ?
or is this ok with him?

my mate just sent a message they arrived last week at Suvarnabhumi
i had asked him about PCR Test UK (if the copy on Phone was accepted)
and the reply was all documents paper only.
the company we are using is charging top Dollar, stating ''certificate''
when i phoned they said yes in PDF, for me that sounds like another printing Job.

I'd completed the sandbox twice before so I had the insurance document, a vaccination QR, and my flight was booked. But all I had to prove I had a hotel booking was a generic auto-email confirmation. I did not have a PCR booking since in Phuket that can only be done 40 days in advance and my arrival is early Feb.
Yet I was approved 3 hours later at 8 pm.
I plan to have hard copies of all of the documents when I travel and will hope for a one day Test & Go instead of a Sandbox stay.
my situation is similar in a few ways, i have my Thailand Pass and my visa (90 days) i think i have
most of what i need, flight/insurance/sha+ hotel one night/+pickup from airport+ PCRt est/booking my PCR before leaving UK/Visa 90 days. my main concern is what they want copies of ? i phoned the company about my UK PCR and was told ''i will get a PDF '' now after weeks of trying to get
all these things together, in the order these people want them? i am not so sure. what is a PDF and what is the difference between a copy a photo and a PDF as you might see, i am not an internet wizard, and only realised i had my visa by accident as no email was sent, so it seems even for the people running this show, they make big misstakes. if any one has a list of what documents are ok on your phone (pictures) and which are not? which have to be paper copies, and where do i obtain the PDF'S at 71 it tends to make your head spin a bit. any help is wellcome.

most people have had these issues, i changed my Bank to Bangkok Bank used Wise, ticked '' long term stay in Thailand'' and FTT on my transfers
seems to keep my immigration satisfied for now.

with all this booking and trying to find out if i have a visa ? eventually found my none imm o visa, i have been told i do not require insurance? but not 100% sure.
i have booked 90 days worth (cost more than my flight)
but now after searching everywhere i am still not sure does my Thailand Pass have an expiry date ?

i booked my flight and my insurance and applied for a visa my next outgoing was
the SHA + hotel with pick-up from swampy and PCR after having a PCR before i
could leave the UK, still waiting for the Thai Embassy in London
to decide if i can go back to my wife of 16 years with a visa or v-o-a i have sent all the
documents they asked for but still no decision, (16 days) me and a mate went through
the Olympian standard of hoop jumping with all the ''correct browser'' absolutely ridiculous , I got my Thailand pass.
and then i remember reading they wanted to know peoples
movements via their passports for the previous year? would this make any difference, for the applicant ? as i do have a picture of my flight ticket and my booking confirmation email, but never realized i had them until i checked my old laptop.
and any one who knows what that was about as i would be obliged if it helped.

two years ago i was trying to get my Married to Thai visa extension, and had a right few days
with requests for all sorts and copies of every page, pictures not liked ?just little things
and i was informed that this is not a popular visa ? as a lot of work and it had to be done and checked by Bangkok...now why i do not know, but i got it after about three days of more
and more requests..one of the lads who came to the condo asked for a Liverpool FC shirt? i think he was jesting and i might see if there are any decent copies,
Hopefully things are better now and i will put the moneys into two accounts one saving and one income, will see how that goes.

i landed at manchester airport in July 2021, it was very busy but the arrivals staff
motioned me to put my passport in to get scanned, and within minuets i spotted my ride
never thought much about it till yesterday, yes i booked another flight and as i was using
his scanner and printer for all the copies ect ect, my friend was looking at my passport,
all of a sudden my friend said where are your stamps ? i asked what he meant and he
showed me a blank page IIII i did not know what was going on but when i got the passport
he was right no stamps no nothing ?
at first i was a bit shocked and then i recalled that i was waved onto the contraption by
the airport staff and after a few minuets i got my passport back , now i wonder is this the
new thing ? or am i going to have problems at the airport ? i think i will give Manchester airport
a call or has anyone had similar shocks, surely if the machine was not functioning they would
get intouch? and it doesn't say much for security at our Airports.

i think i got off on the wrong foot with my landlord, she wanted a deposit as soon as i informed her i was interested in renting one of her condo's, ok it was only 2000 baht
but this was a new one to me, i paid up as i was interested.
then when we had chosen a condo she asked for another deposit, and i was a bit miffed as i had gone past several ATM's on my way to her office, and i had not been informed before hand, so i asked why was i not told before ? to which she said i told your wife?
instead of escalating this problem i tried to make a joke of ''after 16 years married we do not talk that much'' when i completed the deal all was ok but after six months i found that the contract only had 7k as deposit when i had paid 14k ? now my wife said no i think that is right (i find Thais are scared of any Thai who they think has big money or a uniform)
so rather than make a big fuss i let it slide, does anyone know an honest solicitor in Pattaya i know two and one is English but it would probably cost as much or maybe more, and this landlord knows and plays knowing the Thais will back down in most cases, so it would my word against hers.
