  1. Sure Mate.Well i drove my bike at night it was away from the normal spots there was a police check point down a dark road.I was stopped i looked to nervous and was asked for my passport i gave it to them they noticed the overstay i was put in jail brought to court a few days later paid fine.A immigration officer brought me straight to airport i didn't spend anytime at idc.I do not know what the standard protocol is but i paid a fee to have process quickened up. Yeah they probably rode me on that but hey.No red stamps no blacklist threats got the naughty overstay stamp and in handwriting they wrote the fine i paid and also wrote that this case is already finished.Immigration were fairly decent to me i was apologetic and well behaved. Not as bad as a experience as i thought it would be but definitely not something i would want to go through again and i will never overstay again for sure.Basically my nerves gave the game away which made them ask for my passport.Cheers

Good share. Most of us make mistakes. Most of us don't take ownership for them. You have. Let the good times roll.

  2. You start making trouble for the Local police yourself, it won't go down very well, it might not be right, but it's the way it is.

There will never be an end to corruption in Thailand, and remember, the corruption money flows uphill, hence the reason the Generals are all fabulously wealthy on a paltry salary.

Leave it to the Insurance reps to sort out.

There isn't monetized society on the face of the Earth where this sort of thing doesn't take place. In a monetized society, everything has and comes with a price.

I've a good friend and close colleague is lawyer, if you want to make something of it PM and I'll direct you.

    Very sorry about your loss.

  3. Your lack of faith is born from an ungrateful and mediocre attitude.

Its up to you to make the changes. The clock is ticking. Good luck.

"True goodness is like water in that it blesses everything and harms nothing. And like water, true goodness seeks the lowest places, even those levels
    which others avoid."

  4. I think most are missing the point, its not about the money, its about we're all breathing the same air walking on two feet and would just like to be treated the same. Add to this issue the "Farang" tax that exist throughout Thailand and it starts to wear on you that at every turn the locals are continually inventing ways to extricate more money from Farangs.

I would like to see a National Holiday (since they seem to have holidays for any little thing) called Farang Appreciation Day... Thanking all of us for all the jobs we create in the local economy and how we take care of so many old and disabled Thai's (normally associated with our wives or girlfriends families) that Thai society has chosen to neglect....

All people are asking for is a little fairness and not being viewed as an ATM...

    Sounds like a personal problem.

  5. What a load of horse SH@T!

One price for all, if you feel the need to help out make a donation.

If this was done in the west there would be hell to pay!

Fair is fair, everyone gets the same treatment - How do they differentiate between a Burmese, A Chinese, A Malay, A korean? or is it just down to skin colour?

No doubt we should allow even more priveliges, and maybe grant discounts to Muslims in Europe while we are on the subject.

    Grow a pair!

Grow a pair. That would be good advise for you. Stop the fear and loathing by ex-pats in Thailand. Starting with you. You can always return to the west.

  6. Buy earplugs!

I often feel I'm not living in the same Thailand as everyone else, no issues with noise, soi dogs, iffy neighbours etc.

We are in a village within 1 hour of Bangkok CBD (I commute every day) the only noise issue (if you can call it that) is the roosters going off at 5AM (including ours).

OK, we do occasionally get temple noises from weddings and funerals etc, but since we get invited not exactly a problem. Oh, and the dance club over the river is audible when the wind is wrong.

Right now it's 6.50PM on a Sunday, what can I hear? Aircraft flying in to Swampy and DMK, frogs, jinjoks, the wind noise from my fan, stuff all else.

EDIT Just heard a dog bark, it's stopped now.

Totally agree, I live in a very large condo complex in Bangkok, 9 years here now, and never had a problem with noise. Was much worse in Sydney where I hail from.

Methinks the OP is either a troll or one of those (and seems to be an disproportionate number on TV) people who bring problems on themself.

Highly intelligent post. The OP has personal problems. I wish him well. Even if a troll, then more so.

  7. Sir, This is a personal and pathological problem. It isn't about any country. It is about you. With all sincerity in this time of Thanksgiving, get some help. That's the message I'd be getting if this were as chronic as you claim. Wish you Peace, body, mind and spirit.

With all the Temples and places of worship, in Thailand, there is no excuse for this.

  8. I read a post of a man who even had a Thai passport and was denied and detained for having a felony on his record. Just trying to figure out what is what before I commit to tickets and all.

Take it from ubonjoe. There is also a form you can have filled out by your local law enforcement that would clear you, if it were to come up. The basics of it, you are not under suspicion

nor investigation for any crime or wrong doing. I've a copy of it some where, God only knows if I could find it.

Read it in the book, it says forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who've trespassed against us.

    True words.

    Enjoy your trip.
