Kwaibah you say the crossing is open for border hops.
Does that mean you can exit and re-enter Thailand and get a 30 day stamp?

I will call the Consul in Suvanakhet before I go just to make certain of their requirements.

You didn't mention about crossing the border getting 30 days and extending that for 60 days so I am guessung that is no longer a possibility.

For the past 2 years I have been crossing the border into Cambodia returning to Thailand immediately getting a 30 day VOA.
I have then visited my local Immigration office and extended my stay by 60 days based on being the father of a Thai child.
With the current restrictions is it possible to carry on doing this?
I am 64 year old British citizen married to a Thai with a 9 year old son who has dual nationality.
I have already read up on 1 year multi entry Non Imm 'O' from Laos in case I need to go down that route and have 2 questions....
1) Do I have to take my son with me when I make my application?
2) From what I have read it seems it is easier at Suvanakhet but I would prefer going to Vientienne. Is it really that much harder to get in Vientienne?

I think certain ISPs have blocked it maybe the rest will follow. I can still acces FB in Korat using True Move H.

Sadly it's only a threat. If there would be a corruption blacklist or something in Thailand, these 5 guys would be in the top 10.

RIP Nelson you were truly a great man.
I was on the same fog delayed flight as Nelson in 1991 from Joburg to Cape Town.
I bucked up the courage and approached him and asked him for his autograph which he happily gave me although he was surprised that anyone would want his autograph.
He was on his way to Cape Town to meet then President De Klerk but he still managed to spare 5 minutes to chat with me about my family who lived in South Africa.
My abiding memory will be how tall and proud he stood unbowed by his years in prison.-

I had my satelitte system installed in Korat last Friday just 2 days after signing up.
Good picture quality and I like their English language channels more than True's.
It has a great selection, 9 channels, for kids too.

I now regard it with a sense of pride when I remember to take my card. What happens then is a few minutes later a sense of panic sets and I fumble about my pockets just to make sure I did remember to take the card.

It works just fine for me in the middle of nowhere 40 kms NW of Korat.
I get 4-6 mbs 90% of the time which is a godsend after 10 years of AIS GPRS/EDGE!!!!

If your phone works then you should be able to get a GPRS/EDGE connection through AIS or DTAC.
Its slow and can be woefully so but it's better than nothing.

I had a similar experience to Crossy arriving 2 days bedore my extension of the stay expired.
The Thai immigration officer who dealt with me looked at the date and politely reminded that I must go to the Immigration office in Korat within the next 2 days.
I said yes I fully understood that and she stamped my passport for the 2 days.
I had no problem with the airline (EVA) as the lady who checked me in understood that I was on an annual extension of stay that was about to expire and be renewed.
The only downside is if you are delayed beyond the date of your extension of stay in which case you would have to start the process over again.

I believe you can marry a 13 year old with a judge's permission.
Monk's wedding would be against the law.
It's sad but common.
So it's a case of completing miminal schooling recieving your Thai ID card and your good to go, very sad.
Actually, need to be 15 to get an ID card.
My 8 year old son already has his ID card I think they are issued at 7 now.
I live in a village near Korat and there are plenty of kids living with their grandparents as the parents are off working.
I have never heard of a child being offered for sale locally but have no doubts it happens.
Poverty drives people to the limit.

Do your self a favor and hire a Private Investagator tell them what you want done and I am sure they can help u to see this girl is using you and more than likely has the boyfriend telling her what to do. U will get over it in time so please use your brain not your heart because it will hurt even more later. I my self would have dumped her and filed for divorce. Can you tel us area in Thailand please , North South
Do not hire a private investigator, they will just ask money from "wife" to write a report in her favour. You have had an unfortunate experience, learn from it & move along.
OP: By Thai wedding I assume you mean married & not registered with the Amphur, so no need for a legalised divorce process.

I live in the middle of nowhere and use TrueMove H (7GB "fair usage" and then 256 kbs for 999 Baht. You also get free Wifi).

The Raya Grand in Suebsiri, about 10 minutes from the centre by tuk tuk, has great rooms at 650 Baht inc a good breakfast.
Lots of restaurants/bars/nightlife nearby too.
