All what I can see is since 3 days, machine gun equipped police gards in front of hotels here in Bangkok. That's the achivement.
The question is not WHETHER something serious will happen in Bangkok or other places, the question is WHEN it will happen !
Great result! We all are now in the dangerzone

The tourist industry will be greatful. Tons of tourist, all without any criminal records will simply not come anymore to thailand as they also do not got to the US anymore. Enough places to be without hassle and x-ray.
A lot of countries are very happy to get those tourists as guest and not get welcomed as "terrorists".
Maybe Taksin fears an other "Madrid disaster". They had also x-ray.
sad. sad. sad.

Friends,
according your advise, I will first rent a place before I buy. Should I rent outside or more inside the town? Thanks a lot.
-
Thank you P1P,
your proposal is clearly a very good one "rent first" then buy. Will do so. FYI, I have a condo at the beach, that's ok, but I like the "mountains" as well. So let's see. I will go to Chiangmai and looking around.
Thank you P1P and all others. Life is to short to waste time.

Francois,
sad to hear but some people don't like competition. Keep this in mind when you do business in Thailand.

Dear Colleagues,
do we have to close when people are singing inside a restaurant? Is this declared as Music?
Not clear to me.

Every one know that Thailand is a from a dictator roled country. The thing is, the outside world know this too and they know what they have to do. No big company is in favor to work with dictatorships as good governance in those contries are strict and stricter and now CEO want to do business with such countries anymore as he will be immediatly in the squeeze . This is also the reason way almost zero direct investments come into the country. Wait and see, Thailand good bye.

Whether we like it or not but also Pattaya will be dark after Midnight. Sad to see this coming.

Dear all,

Many thanks and have fun

This is a good idea and I am convinced that Khun Taksin will succeed as it is his idea. Too much put in it already. Right now huge roadshows going on aroud the globe. Nothin will stop this Thailand Elite Card concept.

Published on Jan 04 , 2005
The United States choses Sattahip naval base in Chonburi province as its air base to coordinate relief efforts for countries hit by last week's tsunamis.
The US has already sent surveillance aircraft, helicopters and C- 130 transport planes to the Utapao Royal Thai Naval Air Force Base in Satthahip, along with 350 officials who will coordinate with Thailand's 536 Task Force under the command of Vice-Admiral Robert R. Blackman.
Since last Thursday, the US has been sending personnel and equipment to countries hit by the tsunami waves -- Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Madacasca and Somalia.
