    In Yasothon if you stay in the city center it is easy to get to the location of the rockets. It may be hard to find a hotel in the city now. I looked on Agoda yesterday and did not see anything in the center.

    I have not been to Kutwa, Kuchinari so have no idea.

    The schedule I got from my hotel last year said the rockets would start at 7 in the morning. I think they did not really get going until about 9. I attached the schedule from last year, sorry I only have the Thai version and had to run everything through google translate.

    Is it like the Yasothon festival where the rockets are early on Sunday morning?

    Never been to one but would love to go, are the locations easy to find / get to from accommodation and when you say early Sunday, what is early?

    Our local 7/11 sells out of hours, rings it up a 5PM, they even deliver. Have they dropped the tax reduction as well? I see some drink has shot up, probably in anticipation, eg 100 pipers 8 year blended malt went up 2 weeks ago from 679 baht to 815.

    Yes noticed an increase in booze costs not a decrease, did the tax reduction flounder or is it just the mega monopolies are just taking more and even more profit?

  4. Travel to Chiang Mai, whilst every now and then I like the train it is very slow and as a norm most of the journey is at night, so you don't really get to see some of Thailand's wonderful land and city scape. I read the buffet car / food service has been reopened but how good it is post covid I don't know. Booze is still prohibited so it is not for sale.

    Yes, we currently have quite a bit of pollution, not as bad as in previous years so I am not finding it prohibitive. Apart from that it is a wonderful time of year, still cool in the morning but not for long, mid 30's in the afternoon. quite a lot of life now, things to see and do.

    If it was me, I would fly.

    Very little point in having one without the other.

    Not dropping the immigration nonsense = no genuine mass tourism.

    Not opening all bars, restaurants, clubs = no genuine mass tourism.

    Dropping the immigration nonsense and opening up = relatively upwards tourism.

    Simple maths equation in my book, but the TAT and others are incredibly bad with numbers and calculators

    Not so;

    I think whilst the current reasonable measures are in place TAT will be able to assure the government and us that tourism has returned to normal with only a 1% drop on previous record highs and that is because of a minor drop off in booking from Russia...
