Can someone explain to me how this works.
The limit is 0.50 milligrams % of alcohol but
His reading was 0.114 milligrams % of alcohol.
It's the milligrams and the % that's confusing me.
To me 0.5 % is greater than 0.114%
Its like writing it with 3 decimal places. ie 0.5 would become 0.500
Or is this where the milligrams (weight) factor comes in?
I guess whoever wrote the story didn't attend math class.

I plan to live here permanently. I heard there are payment tiers in the Thai hospitals. The lowest and the most expensive tier is for those on a tourist visa. Did I get that right?
If you play golf there is a distinct advantage. if you're on a tourist visa you will pay twice as much as if you're on a non-o retirement.

Zebra crossings mean absolutely nothing in Thailand. That's a fact based on my personal experience.
They might as well put up a sign saying: COMMIT SUICIDE HERE

Some of the comments I see here daily make me wonder the ages of some. Also, the daily prejudice seen here towards other foreigners shows a lack of proper upbringing as a child. This happens daily with hundreds of people, and the higher percentage is locals, and it wouldn't make news in the US. Assuming anything never works, and shows that prejudice when there's no evidence of what nationality he was. Foreigner means anyone outside Thailand, meaning any country. As I've mentioned many times before, there are Brits, Scots, Asians, Africans, and all other nationalities in the US, where I'm from and returning asap, and the racist and prejudiced cause the most trouble there.
Generally I agree with you. But this particular thread has been fun to read as I believe 99 percents of the comments have been made in jest.

Folks:
As of today, I have not yet got up the gumption to return to my barber, ever since the pandemic reared its ugly head of hair.
Have you?
There has clearly been a great divide between pre-pandemic, pandemic, and post-pandemic times.
For one thing, I never really understood just how unimportant a barber might be, in the grand scheme of things.
And so, now that I have come to understand this important truth, I will never return to have my hair cut by someone in a hair salon.
Therefore, the question begs.....
Other than the decision to never return to a hair salon to have one's hair trimmed by a barber....
Then, what other unimportant things have you decided to forgo, besides the barber experience?
For me, there are many things that I once did before the pandemic, the things which I would not even think of doing now.
What about you?
How has the pandemic experience changed your habits and social behavior for the better?
Think about it.
I wanna know.
Regards,
Gamma
Note: I am saving lots of money by cutting my own hair. I hope you are similarly saving money in this way, and in many other ways, too.
I was away during covid, but on coming back one of the first things I did was going to the barber. As for saving lots of money, I think getting a good haircut and a full shave for less than a 100 baht is the cheapest luxury you can get.

was the police out of plastic bags that day ?
Not according to the quoted article from The Thaiger:
"Panya insisted that only one officer tortured him on the day. He remembered that the officer had a prosthetic leg. He covered Panya’s head with a black plastic bag, ordered Panya to take off his shirt, and lowered the air conditioning temperature. The torture and threats went on for over nine hours, and Panya confessed to the murder because he was exhausted and suffering."

Which Leica is it? Sound to me like the D-Lux 7. I have the Panasonic LX-100 V2 (the sister camera) with exactly the same problem. I checked in Europe to get it repaired and it cost a small fortune so I gave up and use the ring around the lens. At any rate I think the best place to go is A.V.Camera in Bangkok https://www.avcamera.com
The owners name is Mana Prapassarangkul and his phone number is/was (been a long time since i talked to him), but you'll find other phone numbers on the website.
Good luck. Would be nice to hear how it pans out.

Maybe it's time to ask Mr. Kirk a few questions.
Or does anybody else here know anybody who would leave any or that under the seat of a bike?
QuoteOn Thursday (December 14th) the Patong Police arrested the prime suspect Mr. Usoap Khunsurin, 27, from Ranong, at a public park in Wichit. Seized from him was the stolen motorbike, three rings, and the watch. The suspect is facing charges of theft.
The only question to ask seems to be how he could be so stupid. Or are there more questions you can think of?

Just re-read what I posted, and can't see how that got misunderstood.
As with all social issues, that is the right of the locals to decide what they want. Same as TH or USA. Free expression is the right to say or do, what ever you please, within the law.
By entitled, I'm referring to men using woman's restrooms, insisting on the meaning of words to be change, and all must use, whether agreeing or not to their meaning. Having genders taught in school, to young children against parents wishes. School is for the 3 R's, sciences, not family social issues.
Forcing business to provide separate restrooms, or allow men or ladies to use the one not aligned with their birth sex. Forced pronoun use, redefined and confusing as hell.
There are 2 sexes; male & female. Genders, that's up to you, and anything you want to call yourself, but don't force everyone to conform to your lifestyle. In my world there's 3, heterosexual, bisexual & homosexual ... pick one. Feel free to call yourself something else, just don't expect me to agree with you.
I fail to see what you are saying here has anything to do with Russia banning a LGBT Movement, a movement that doesn't even exist in Russia. Putin needs scapegoats to take his peoples eyes off what a mess his regime is and LGBTs are an easy target. This has been done before in history. It's in the playbook for dictators. You may know that Hitler killed not only jews in his death camps, but also the mentally sick and homosexuals.

Which country is it that which has not had the use of Personal cheques for over 20 years?
Are you saying they are ;
a: banned by the government ?
b: banned by the banks
c: are just "not being used" by the majority or
d: just "not being used" by you?
Norway
Not banned.
The banks just don't issue them. Too expensive for the banks to handle.
So you get a debit card, internet banking and apps for your phone.

Where I come from Personal checks haven't been in use for over 20 years. Maybe it's time for the Thai banking system to move with the times.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Kanika Aunjit expressed the government’s condolences to Sirada’s family and vowed that measures would be implemented to prevent such violent incidents, which frequently involve students from rival vocational schools in Bangkok.
The Interior Ministry, in collaboration with the Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Ministry, is also set to take urgent steps to ensure public safety and curb student street fights.
Typical blah blah and knee-jerk reaction from the government. I've read about these fights between vocational schools all the time for the last 15 years, and it seems that not much has improved.

EmbedMy Cardiologist said Dr. Ken Berry is a Clown Hard to know what to believe ?My cholesterol was a bit high 182 and my Cardiologist recommended a Statin. I refused and showed him this below of Dr. Ken Berry and after sitting there watching most of it he said this doctors a total Clown stating that for anyone to go against over 30yrs of solid Stain research you have to be a pretty slick grifter. He then went on to say you would need to post stuff like this that goes against the mainstream to excite people and generate clicks and that this guy is in it for the notoriety to make the money .
I do believe your cardiologist is wrong. Abut 5 years ago I had a checkup which showed that my cholesterol was higher than the so-called standard and the doctor prescribed me Statins. I didn't know anything about the subject so I took them before bedtime every evening for 2 weeks. I woke up around 4 am every night with a splitting headache, so I did some research and concluded that statins were not for me. My now ex-doctor told me that I had to take them, When asked why she could not give any other answer than that it was dangerous not to take them. She even told me to sign a paper for refusing to take them. I told her what she could do with that document and have never been back to that clinic.
Interestingly enough my doctor in Denmark agrees with me ( he doesn't get commission on prescriptions ).
I'm 75 years old, never sick (had a bit of covid a year ago), take no medications. I play golf, go to the gym and most importantly eat real food, including red meat.. Come from a hotel/restaurant background and when I read the labels of most of the food you get in the supermarkets it scares me. So my advice is, don't eat anything that comes out a factory.
