He just has to find another witness to say that he had swapped prior to the lady seeing him swap  the second time. It might cost him a few baht but it's worth a try Right?

.... or they could claim that they were not wearing seat belts so a involuntary swopping happened during the accident. When they stopped, they swopped back. This will only cost 2x fine for not wearing a seat belt ....

    But can they PROVE that

    - the cat actually had Covid?

    - the vet caught it from the cat, and not from any other human who she came in contact with?

This sounds very fishy to me!

Of course it's not proveable, at least not scientificly - in a Thai way only as it seem to be based on pure assumption... To be proven the vet needed to be looked inside a room together with the cat only for 5 days until the symptoms appeares - yes, then it's proven, but when the cat was only only one of many contacts during the 5 days then it could be transmitted from a lot of other sources.

Absolute madness. Happy to let unvaccinated people enter unfettered but still make people apply for a pointless document. Unbeli3vable Thailand deserves what it gets.

If you want real tourist arrivals get rid of the Thailand pass!

So so, Rome was not built in 1 day either. The Thai Pass requirement will also be scrapped - sooner or later. It is important to enjoy all developments that go in the right direction even it takes mouse steps ...

Well of course people should be free to pursue a happier life elsewhere. But in many pensions there are benefits embedded in the pension payment - to help the said people cope with rising cost of living in their home countries. Such as inflation indexed benefits, power supplements etc. It seems reasonable that people shouldn't receive these same benefits should they decide to relocate elsewhere.

Agree to a certain point, BUT it should have been a kind of a middle way - an annual raise depending on the location you moved to as a minimum as cost of living raises everywhere - not only in the UK ... Btw, I am not from the UK, I am a norwegian and we get the yearly increase whether we stay in Norway or we choose to live elsewhere as long as you have lived/worked/been a member of the national insurance scheme for minimum 20 years prior to move abroad.

Could be worse, you could have to live in UK for 2 years prior to retirement, you could lose on a sliding scale upto 50% if you live abroad or you will not get paid after spending 180 days abroad.

With other words - schedule your stay to 6 months in Thailand and 6 months in the UK or move to another country where they have an agrement with the UK such as the Philippines.

  6. RE - With the lifting of these restrictions, tourists will be able to enter the country using vaccine passports

    * It doesn't help those who are unvaccinated much, but it moves in the right direction so the next will be to suspend the vacination passport requirement something that will come together with the phase transformation from pandemic to endemic. Countries will enter an endemic phase at different times, due to incompatible vaccination rates and other variables so it may take a while ....

There is no excusing theft, but the ’son’ also seems somewhat ‘xenophobic' in his actions to ignore theft from Thai’s and then going public when its a foreigner.

It's awful that people will just rip off shops like this where people are struggling to make a living.

Despicable foreigner, but also despicable Thai’s, despicable anyone who would do the same thing.

Well, there are probably several ways it can be interpreted and a more objective way can be that this behaviour can be expected of Thais but not from foreigners, which basically has a positive twist towards foreigners. Anyway, sad to see and especially in these hard times where most people struggle to make ends meet ....
