Hello,
PLEASE SHARE.
I would love it if you took a moment to check out my GoFundMe campaign. Rat, my ex guitar student who is a blind orphan living with HIV, is in a critical state and needs medical attention NOW.

Your support would mean a lot to me. Thank you so much!

Hi all,
Currently filling in MN1 form to register my daughter's UK citizenship by descent, I seem to remember having to go to VFS Global office in Bangkok to send it off and pick up for my son a few years ago. However, the form guide just states to send directly off to UK.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Thanks, I'll check them out.

It's a. Nissan but the Nissan Service Center told me to fix unnecessary things (such as replacing tyres that were only 5 months old).

Hi there,
I've been to four different mechanics in the Ramkhamhaneg area to fix various things and every single time it's a shoddy job. I'm not talking about a man in a shack either.
Can someone please recommend a mechanic in Bangkok that is authorised to do TorRorOr annual checks? And someone who doesn't charge extra for farangs please. There must be someone out there!
Thanks,

Hi all,
My car was involved in a minor accident and I'm fully covered but only have a UK driving license. Do you know if this will affect my claim? Do they ask for a Thai driving license?
Thanks,

Hi there,
We've just bought a 1996 Nissan Sentra and was wondering if anyone can recommend a Nissan Service Center in Bangkok (preferably East Bangkok) that can give the car a yearly service and where we can purchase all the liquids, etc (coolant, brake fluid, etc).
Thanks,

Hi all,
Got family visiting in December and we want to take them around Wat Pho, etc, on December 10th - the only day they can stop in Bangkok. It happens to be Constitution Day. Does anyone know for sure if the temples will be open to the public/tourists?
Thanks,

ManicMiner, sorry for the delay. Yes, you're right, approached it that way and now have a new passport. Cheers.

Thanks guys - we found someone! In fact, our landlady picked up the dog yesterday and took him to a vet's office where there's a pound (Sukhumvit Soi 77) and he's going to pick him up from there. We would have loved to have kept him but we travel a lot and our place is pretty small. He also gets into fights with the next door neighbour's dog all the time. Wouldn't have been the best life for him at ours.
Cheers!

I've been using 'Thai Silk' at the Ambassoder Hotel, Sukhumvit Soi 11, for years. Lovely elderly ladies who do a free fitting. Got my wedding suit made there. They do tailored shirts for 600 baht each and it's great quality. You can walk in with a picture of an Armani suit, choose the fabris, colour, etc, and get it done for a fraction of the price. Takes them a couple days. Go in the side entrance, to the right of the hotel as you face it opposite the 7/11 and it's on your left.

Hi all,
We've moved into a new house in Bangkok and the previous owner's dog, which was sold on to someone else, has since returned! The owner they sold it to has packed up and moved, apparently abandoning the dog in the streets. He's a lovely young friendly mutt and we've been trying to find a home for him but to no avail. We have to try to find a dog pound as we have two cats and simply cannot afford to look after him. SCAD have closed and I'm getting no reply from Dog Chance. Soi Dogs are based in Phuket. Can someone please recommend a shelter in Bangkok we can call? I've attached a photo below if anyone's interested. He's very playful, friendly and needs a loving owner.

That's what I thought but the whole form is for people renewing their British Passport, so why the hell are they asking for further evidence? I'm going to send along a copy of my birth certificate registered at the Singapore High Commission. That should be enough.

Hi all,
Currently renewing my British passport but have a question about section 1b if there are any experts out there!?
The question on the C1 form: (If born overseas) Were you naturalized or registered as a British citizen...if so provide details of citizenship documents. It then asks for Cert number, etc. Unfortunately both my parents don't have this form anymore. I have provided all their details, passport no.'s, etc. My birth was registered at the British High Commission in Singapore.
I was born in Singapore to British parents, both of whom were born in the UK and had/have British passports. Do I really need to fill out this section? Tried calling the Hong Kong passport office who now administer passports for residents in Thailand but you need a bloody recognised credit/debit card to connect the call...don't have one.
Any help much appreciated.

Thanks guys. FYI, just came back from immigration department and can confirm that you can not get any visa with an emergency passport. Not sure how you can return to Thailand on it?! Any way, I have to simply wait for my new one and pay the price. Does anyone know if over stays affects the chances of getting s work permit in the future?
-
Beano; "damaged" as noted by lady at immigration department. If you read my post, I mention that you can still see the stamp and date. It has a slight water mark on the page.you know what these people are like, same all over the world. Of course I would have changed it if I thought it would be a problem.

I returned from India in January, the passport got soaked about a week after. I haven't left the country since. If I can't use the temp travel doc, then all I can do is over stay and pay the fine until I get my new passport in the post! Gonna cost about 10000 baht! Then I suppose I can take the new passport and renew my non O visa. I'm going in tomorrow to chamchuri square to appeal...must at least try something.

@lopburi, thanks for your help

A two entry tourist visa, is that 60 days? That would be fine, in which case I'll call the Laos embassy. Thanks.

Hi all
I have a british passport andhave a dependent visa, my other half has a work permit. My visa is due to expire on Friday. I went to the one stop immigration office today and was told to get a new passport as mine is water damaged and they won't accept it, although you CAN see the visa and it's date. That aside, I need some advice! to order a new passport will take five weeks and I'll leave you to work out the fine I'll have to pay for over staying my visa. Apparently I can get a temporary travel document from the british embassy and do a visa run to get a multiple entry on that one. This will give me time to return and order the actual new passport. The question is: does anyone know which country in SE Asia will accept my temporary passport AND issue me a multiple entry visa back into Thailand? I can take my wifes passport with me.and our marriage certificate, etc. also, how long would it take?
Please help! I'll call the british embassy tomorrow but they don't give much info regarding other.countries Thai visa policies.
Thanks!

Hi there,
I'm looking for an event space/function room to hire in Bangkok, preferably Thong Lo/Ekamai/Sukhumvit area. Capacity for 50 people with PA system, microphones, turntables and with a bar. Anyone know of any places? <deleted> bar is too small, and I've already contacted Opposite.
Thanks,

Thanks all, sorry for the very late reply.
Yes, I was not born in the UK so I have to apply for my daughters British citizenship.
