Actually the j&j vaccine for french embassy were directly imported from france and perfectly safe. It wqs limited to people 55 years old minimum as it is the rule in france. They have some left so they started to vaccinate the rest of the french in thailand. Now they are planning to import pfizer vaacine for the rest of french community, again directly from france and again with the qgreement of the thailand health ministry.

Sorry guys but the truth is :: your embassies suck,

Did you read that Herr Georg Schmidt?

I am just reporting about Chiang Mai. Wee have had a registration up and running for a couple of weeks now- https://wallofcm.chiangmaihealth.go.th

Is it perfect? Are there sometimes difficulties entering your information? May you have to wait a few days to get your confirmation email?  Any more rhetorical questions?  More important, I can attest, if there are any issues of the above type you are having, contact Chiang Mai Public Health Office (CMPHO), Covid Response Team and your problems will be addressed, maybe not satisfactorily to your liking, but to the best we can.  [email protected] You will generally receive a response within 1-2 business days, depending on whether the office is closed because staff is out giving vaccinations. For individuals, and there are a few, who keep writing to complain they have not received an appointment....Think for a minute. Everyone knows vaccine supplies are very limited, much is being diverted to other areas-  Phuket, Bangkok, Buriam, prisons, etc. So, CMPHO can not make appointments until we have guaranteed supplies. This is BEYOND OUR CONTROL. Everyone will be entered in the queue.  But it is going to take a while. As I have posted elsewhere, CMPHO are working double duty, their own jobs pre-pandemic as well as spending a full day working on Covid 19 issues.  So, take a breath.

Second this - the folks @CMPHO are doing great work. Of course we're all aware that vaccine doesn't grow on trees and with this example it also shows that offering qualified information is still the best way to calm the masses.

    It's called crisis managment...

  3. This option mainly caters to German speaking guests, but what do you have to loose speaking to the owner/founder Martin Woodtli. The establishment has received world wide recognition and for the care given (i.e. 3 caretakers per guest), the prices are very moderate. I've had a look there myself and was more than impressed...

    Confusion will be my epitaph
As I crawl a cracked and broken path
If we make it we can all sit back and laugh
But I fear tomorrow I'll be crying
Yes I fear tomorrow I'll be crying
Yes I fear tomorrow I'll be crying

Between the iron gates of fate
The seeds of time were sown
And watered by the deeds of those
Who know and who are known
    Knowledge is a deadly friend
If no one sets the rules
The fate of all mankind I see
Is in the hands of fools

I thought they also said that those below 60 with chronic disease are eligible for the shot too.

But how do they assess whether a person has real serious chronic disease or just lying?

I was explained the criteria is either >60 or serious diseases for eligability.

As far as the assessment, for Thais, it seems taht is the reason that they need to disclose their medical history to the government. For foreigners, your guess is as good as mine...

I am British and contacted the British Trade Mission (aka Embassy) in Bangkok on the subject of Covid vaccinations last year. Their help was to advise me to contact the Thai authorities myself.

I suggest you don't wait for them to do anything to help you, because you might die before they lift a finger to assist.

I have the experience with the German counterparts

I did the same and was referred to the hospital web site. On balance I would say the reception staff have yet to be properly briefed on queries regarding Covid-19 vaccination.

Either that or they have been clearly briefed to "politely" let you move on, considering the recent flip-flops of private procurement of vaccines through companies and private hospitals.

But then again, that is all speculation...
