  1. I popped by 2 days ago and asked them to consider more than just the vodka shots they mentioned to me then. Like a "happy hour" just for us. Not taking away from Elsie though - great job! See ya soon! Cheers!

Ahh.. so you're the mysterious force behind this happy hour thingy. I was wondering why the Marketing girl suddenly decided to do it for us, while the Manager had been quite sure about not doing it. Well done. :o

Thanks to everyone for turning up and looks like a good night was had by all. Also special thanks to Lebowski for the delicious pizzas. Nice to meet all of you. :D

  2. Errm.. thanks, I guess. :D

I give them no descriptions. They have my name and my mobile number. The Marketing girl will ring me again just before 7PM. The staff will have "ThaiVisa" memorised by the time we get there. So, just say the word. Don't try looking for funny looking farangs. You might end up with a wrong crowd. :o

Trust that is fine by everyone.

  3. The Marketing just rang me. There's some development.

Happy Hour from 7PM till 9PM. Singha, Tiger, Chang, Heineken are 120 Baht a bottle (regular price 180 Baht). And other stuff too, like Vodka and some whiskey.

    Regarding bkkjames' questions...

britmaveric and I will be there at 7pm.

The staff will be informed about people looking for "ThaiVisa.com" crowd.

No idea about who will wear what.

I forgot to ask the Marketing about the pizzas!!! Waiting for her to ring me back now.

Everyone takes responsibility for their own behaviour. We are all grown up.

  6. Elsie: as you seem to be the main contact point with this establishment, could you have a quick word with the owners regarding the possibility of TV's newest sponsor "The Big (Pizza) Lebowski's" bringing by a few of his tasty pizza's to sample during our get together?

Sure, I'll ask them when I speak to them again tonight.

  7. Thanks bkkjames for updating the list! :D

I just got off the phone with Titanium. At this moment, they can only offer 1 free vodka shot per attendee. If we got more people (at least 30 attendees), it would be easier to get more offer. Since they don't do happy hour thingy, they would consider doing a 10% off on whiskey (2,200 THB for Black Label) instead.

Will be fun with the Miss Titanium Contest going on also. :o

  8. I vaguely remember some complaints after a get-together in a very lively venue that the music was too loud and no-one could actually hear what the others were saying. You can please some people some of the time, and all that. :o

Titanium has been informed we are coming. The manager will ring me back today after discussing with the marketing what they can offer for us.

  9. Seems that the general concensus is that I forget going in December rather than giving it a chance? It will never work, or there is too much risk.

Mind you I dont mind taking the risk, what do I have to lose going out there a second time and see what develops, if anything. If not I cut my losses, if I dont go I will never know???

I dont think its impossible that this could work, just that there is alot of risk and I have to be careful.

I think the main concern here is that she is an escort, but escorts do marry dont they, they are human beings afterall.

This all sounds too familiar. No, main concern ain't the fact that she is a prostitute. It actually is the fact that she is full of shit. If you really do believe she would care for you more than her mother if you were married, then you are in for a big surprise and it's all clear that you have absolutely no idea about Thailand. I have seen this before. You have made your mind up. So, go for it. But avoid living on top floor. :o

Is it possible for a mod to confirm that the OP's IP address is from Europe?. I feel like responding yet I am weary of feeding a troll.

    Was thinking the same, actually...

  10. Meeting the parents & family is a huge deal in Thailand. We don't take just any guy home. When we decide to introduce our guy to the family, that is it, we are certain this is The One. I personally have brought only one guy home and we were planning to get married.

    Tread very very carefully.

  11. I remember Nok Air found themselves in a right mess some time last year. Lots of flights cancelled or very delayed. They were trying to contact all bookings, but each case took several phone calls to get sorted, generally speaking. Reasons being; wrong phone number, the passenger was not available to talk, the passenger needed to discuss options offered by Nok Air with the other 7 passengers first, you get the picture. One of my flights was effected also. They cancelled my HKT-DMK flight, and called me about 24 hours before the flight to ask what I wanted to do. So, I picked a new flight (HKT-BKK), and asked them to book another seat on the same flight for the BF. All done in about 7 minutes.

I believe they still remember how they screwed up that time, as they haven't launched any big promotions for a while. Because they wanted to get their performance back on track first. Then this oil thingy now. I've been on a Thai travel webboard where Nok Air have a few employees (one executive) posting. So, I can say their attitude doesn't really stink. If they screw up, they pay. They are under the same rules from Department of Civil Aviation as everyone else.
