  1. You really don’t need to go to the Royal Thai Consulate in Chicago in person. Your can have your wife’s signature on the power of attorney document from the land department notarized and send by mail to the consulate and they can mail it back to you. The below link explains the requirements though it is in Thai.

You can have those documents couriered to Thailand to the PoA grantee and the sign it which can then be used at the land department for transferring the deed. It is important that the form from the land department is used from the link below. My wife has done it and it went well without having to make any kind of donations.

Thanks Zanaka that is very clear and convenient. Is there a way to avoid paying the $50 eVisa fee for the 2nd entry? For example - are there advantages to getting a visa directly from the Myanmar Embassy in Thailand. I know it's a hassle, but specifically if I could re-enter Myanmar for the 2nd trip would be helpful. Thanks

If you can wait 3 days, go for a tourist visa at the Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok, Here are some tips https://www.myanmarvisa.com/bangkok.htm

  3. AFASIK, you are eligible to apply for Tourism eVisa which is as you mentioned above, allow you a 28 days stay and valid for ninety (90) days from the date of issue. However, it is only issued as single entry and there are no re-entry permits available as you inquired and you would need to apply twice. You are not required to show onward air ticket from the information provided on the Myanmar Government eVisa web page  https://evisa.moip.gov.mm/NoticetoTourists.aspx

  4. I am currently on one year extension as an dependent (parent of working child) and would like to change to an extension based on retirement (I have all the requirements ready). Do I have to leave the country, come back with a non-O and do an extension or am can I just extend it as an different extension purpose at the local office? I have been extending at the one-stop center but I would have to go to Nonthaburi office due to my place of domicile. Thank you.

  5. I got a call from my lawyer after they got my redbook. She and me will go back to CW Immigration tomorrow to get my endorsements for the re-entry permits. Then the next day go for the Blue booklet. Immigration told them they could process the endorsement with my Yellow booklet not the Blue one. So they are doing that first. Then will need to go to the local district office to get the Blue one done. However they said this might take longer as they need to send or get something back from Immigration. I was a bit surprised by this nuance but will continue to smile as so far things continue to go as planned.

I just worry about skipping steps as everything is carefully scrutinized both in substance and process. Just my nervous nature I guess.

    Hi Jsu360418..

Could you please share the name of the law firm you used? Thanks ..

  6. There are three types of visa available on arrival; Business; Entry and Transit. The term "Tourist Visa" is misquoted in the news. Visa on arrival for "Tourist" is only available if it is arranged through travel agencies in advance. (http://www.myanmarvisa.com/ for more details)

    Apart from valid passport, photos and fees;

Business visa requires the "letter of invitation from the sponsoring company in the event of first trip of business study" or "copies of company registration/business license/ evidence of permission to do business issued by the ministries concerned together with the application if he is working in Myanmar". Entry visa is granted for the purpose of attending meetings, workshops, events and ceremonies and requires letter of invitation by the ministries concerned. 7. Despite reading on a number of sites that it is for tourist purposes as well as business, the only detailed information I can find relates only to Business visas - see the links below. On official Burmese Embassy sites in USA and Australia there is no recent information on the June 2012 changes.

  8. Can someone tell me what the full channel lists are for the GMM-Z box and the GMM-Z box HD

What costs are the boxes respectively, and the subscription costs...kind regards

P.s. does any of the boxes have PVR...i really would like the eurosport channels too.

    4500 THB/5 HD Channels/DTV-HD1 or GMM-Z HD/Free Subscription Fees for 1 Year

    (HD TV1 - Variety, HD-TV2 - Movies, HD-TV3 - Euro Sport, HD-TV4 ASN and HD-TV5 Net Geo Wild)

    15xx THB/over 80 SD Channels/GMM-Z Box/No Subscription Fees

    Hope it helps....

  9. For me it works great, no problem.

I've collected a few quotes from this thread on this question. Somehow I trust the first guy's experience more. The other solutions mean a bit of tweaking, even the guy who put a splitter could have had his dish repositioned first, which makes total sense.

In football forum is topic on this, maybe you want read that too.

    http://www.thaivisa....are-showing-it/

I have true box, I bought GMM box from our village cableguy. I want splitter and he said "can do" but first we tried it alone and it worked ok. Then he put splitter and again, no problem, both true and gmm worked. After installation he called gmm and activate those locked channels. They were unlocked after I took power off from gmm box maybe 5minutes. Power on and OTA upgrade came to screen. After that was finished, nothing more to do. And never had to do anything to truevisions dish on the roof.

It is True Visions with GMM-Z box or True Visions with DTV-HD1 box? The second paid would not work together at the same time. You have to turn one of them off. Also check that your splitter is power pass version for both output ports..

  10. GMM-Z has HD content of Euro 2012 available via DTV. The box (DTV-HD1) costs around 4500 THB without the antenna and the subscription fees is free for one year. There are 5 HD channels (HD TV1 - Variety, HD-TV2 - Movies, HD-TV3 - Euro Sport, HD-TV4 ASN and HD-TV5 Net Geo Wild). If you already have a True Visions Antenna, you can just use a splitter to split the transmission and watch both True and DTV-HD (but not simultaneously). The programs share the same satellite but the frequencies are on different polarizations whereas the GMM-Z box and Tru Visions box can be turned on at the same time as they share the same polarizations. Hope this helps.... :)
