Thanks for this. But this report ultimately only reflects that no one was prepared for such a virus outbreak. Just like there will always be someone who doesn't share important information. Out of whichever reasons. But no government can do anything about it if information is withheld from it.
And even if the number of infected people was downplayed, everything that became known about the virus was published anyway. And that was the important thing. Unfortunately, most countries have acted completely differently than the Chinese had shown. And that's the crux of the matter. So many people around the world would NEVER have been sick if their governments had acted like the Chinese.
I don't want to know what the world would be like if the virus broke out in the US.
You can say what you want about China, but they have the virus outbreak under control. Most other countries do not. That says it all already!!!
Do you don't want to think about, why it is so? The most countries done the wrong things to fight against it and Trump only want to give the bad ass card to china because him and his GOV self made it bad.I'm thinking China has continuously lied - about everything.
But again, you keep believing the CCP narrative. Oh, they're also committing genocide. Even more reason to trust them, right?

Just blah ... blah....!!!https://edition.cnn.com/2020/11/30/asia/wuhan-china-covid-intl/index.html
And from CCN of all places.
And yes, withholding information is a lie.

But I understand and it's ok for me that other people can think different!!!You can think however you want. I'm not Xi. I have no control over what you can and can't say.

In a report marked "internal document, please keep confidential," local health authorities in the province of Hubei, where the virus was first detected, list a total of 5,918 newly detected cases on February 10, more than double the official public number of confirmed cases, breaking down the total into a variety of subcategories. This larger figure was never fully revealed at that time, as China's accounting system seemed, in the tumult of the early weeks of the pandemic, to downplay the severity of the outbreak.
The previously undisclosed figure is among a string of revelations contained within 117 pages of leaked documents from the Hubei Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, shared with and verified by CNN.
Taken together, the documents amount to the most significant leak from inside China since the beginning of the pandemic and provide the first clear window into what local authorities knew internally and when.
I've been watching this whole thing very closely since the very beginning. Before Trump initially said China were doing a good job. I knew right off the bat that something was rotten in Denmark. I've always despised the CCP. Their handling of the virus was just further validation that I was correct about their abhorrent ways.
I remember watching news briefings with the WHO. Before they would tell us the latest and most pertinent updates, they thought it appropriate to prioritize information by praising the CCP. Telling us what a wonderful job the CCP were doing and how one doctor said he wouldn't wanna be treated anywhere else for the virus than in China. I knew then that we were in trouble. That they were obviously withholding information to save face.
How some people can't or refuse to see this is beyond me.

Not sure I understand the sentiment in this remark.
Sounds a bit like he's saying that if he's s***canned then he doesn't even care anyway.

Right... But hasn't he said countless times that he has to be in his position and he's the only one who can do the job? Talking ad nauseam about how he works so tirelessly for the Thai people because he cares so much. I'm confused.

As far as I am concerned this thread is finished due to any lack of confirmatory evidence produced by any poster vis a vis the information in the OP.

Even CNN is reporting on the regime’s deceit, inept response and saving face antics. It’s their headline today. The University of Southampton also did a great study on how things could have been much better had the CCP responded accordingly and kept other nations informed.
The CCP is a genocidal regime who heavily sensor information and who lock you up, or even have you disappeared, for not following the party narrative. You don’t need CNN or Fox News to know the CCP are an abhorrent bunch who deserve scorn and can’t be trusted at all.

What about North Korea? I think you’ll find that North Korea and China are ranked 1st and 2nd (respectively). That’s according to this Chinese scholar who has US residency.

Maybe they could buy some more containers from Maersk. They seem to be effective.
Oh, no. Those containers are to protect the elite. Protecting the peasants from covid is very low down the ‘to do list’.

So I'm sure you can tell us exactly what the CCP lied include the proofable sources, or not?
You can find enough int. news sources from Nov, Dec, who reported about a new virus in china. But pretty much all countries thought they were smarter than the stupid Chinese and could fight the disease better. It's just like the flu. No masks needed, only dangerous for olders, ...!!! This was the lies!!!
We see these results now. This is the TRUTH and nothing other.Seeing as you capitalized ‘truth’ I have no comeback.
Oh, hang on. You didn’t use an exclamation mark. Schoolboy error.
Anyhoo, you go on believing things that come out of the CCP’s mouth. A regime that sensors information and imprisons, or even disappears, people who don’t follow the party narrative.
When individuals lie, we call people stupid for continuing to believe them. When governments do it, many call them negative or tinfoil-hat wearers for not believing them. Amazing how conditioned some people are to be ignorant.

Looking at pictures on Twitter of the army putting up barricades around their army bases with shipping containers and barbed wire. Funny, I always thought an army existed to protect its citizens. Looking a the pictures online you’d think the army is going to war with theirs.
Not really surprising when the small % of people who run the country and bang on ad nauseam about patriotism and people not being ‘Thai’, are the very ones who don’t treat Thailand like a country but as a business.

Who tell's that the CCP lied? Trump?
All others not speak something because they're not sure it started in China or in Italy how it's looks now.Yes. Trump said they lied. This is what everything negative about the CCP boils down to. Whether or not Trump said so.
And when Trump’s gone - we’ll have to find another source of negative news about the CCP. Let’s hope any form of investigative journalism ends in January cos we won’t have anyone to blame for a regime’s abhorrent actions than the actual regime themselves.

defend the regime? where do you get that? question the allegations, don't blindly accept whatever makes you feel good.
be skeptical. if the "regime" is as despicable as you claim, if they are indeed committing genocide, then surely their opponents would never need to stoop to spreading disinformation to combat them.
i should think exposing actual genocide would take precedence over claiming (without evidence) that authorities are threatening citizens.
the truth should be enough.
Anything to do with the CCP and you’re here defending them.
And now you’re defending genocide. I will truly never understand some people. Truly abhorrent.

Yes, only those who wear tinfoil hats would ever assume/accuse the CCP of lying about something or covering it up.
Where do people come up with these crazy conspiracy theories? Next thing people will be saying the CCP is committing genocide.

Not to worry. The CCP now say the virus began in India and spread to Australia. Apart from having issues with many counties around the world, the CCP doesn’t have a particular beef with India or Australia, does it?
I remember when this all started. The CCP were very quick to come out and say it started in a wet market in Wuhan. A government official even referred to it himself as the “Wuhan Virus”. I guess they thought it wasn’t so serious at the beginning.

Really, according to a quick Google search, this is what I came up with, copy and pasted below.
"In 2015, the recidivism rate of Thai prisoners was 17 percent. In 2016 that rate rose to 25 percent and 33 percent in 2017. Most were imprisoned more than once for drug-related crimes".
I suppose some reform, others don't, could it be the conditions are too good ?
Yes, women being given sanitary pads in prison has obviously given them the impression that prison is a picnic.

And it seems oh so easy to believe Twitter and other social media sights, especially when they say something you want to hear.
And of course, those sites are so honest, ethical with absolutely no agendas of their own.
It wasn’t twitter who did the real investigating.
Stanford Internet Observatory did the real investigation initially and twitter acted on it.
Twitter certainly do have agendas when it comes to politics and which side they lean towards; just not not sure what their agenda would be here. In fact, they just blocked a user today for exposing more of these IOs today.
Unless of course you believe the idea of Thai tax payer money being used to promote the junta isn’t plausible? ‘Cos it seems pretty plausible to me. Well, it’s been proven.

Sanitary pads are not a luxury item. They’re an essential.
Prison isn’t just about punishment - it’s also about reform. It’s kinda hard to reform someone when you dehumanize them.

Economic recovery in China key driver of improvement in Thai economy

And I hear from the CCP that the economy is not only back to normal in China, but actually doing very well.
Might as well believe them. Wishful thinking is what will save the world's economies. What's the old proverb out of Eastern Europe? "They pretend to pay us and we pretend to work".
