  1. Is this a general policy in certain categories of hotels in Bangkok (these hotels charge around 2500 Baht for a room)?

    No.

Would your friend's wife happen to be from Isarn? Is she dark-skinned. Does she wear a lot of gold? Some good hotels do discriminate against Isaan "nouveau riche". :o

that's the nicest paraphrase, I've seen in a long time! :D

  2. First, is she too young at 25,… actually come to think about it her young age is the only major stumbling block.
what's wrong with her being younger than you??

aren't there other things who count a bit more? :o

I remember a quote from a friend when he was asked about an indiscretion “I would prefer to regret the things that I done than regret the things that I did not do!”

    very wise guy! :D

    Have a Happy….
    ending!

    and good luck!

  3. btw; what time are you expecting to hit the great metroipolis of Surin? Just so I know when to end the happy hour :D

you mean, you have "normal happy hours" too? :o

I though, in FC "happy hour" means the time wen it is ful and the boss making a lot of money? :D

    btw, got a picture now!

  4. there are two things, which happen in any language, but as english is the most widely spoken, it's affected a bit more.

    1) people don't speak clearly and correctly, some syllabs are partly or totally missing, mumbling has a big impact too, (not to mention intoxication)

    2) a big part of the population never had the chance (and interest) in really perfecting the knowledge of their language, and therefore use improper words, also building improper (and misleading) sentences.. :D

I'm not including borrowed words, as those who use them, usually are familiar with them - unfortunately not all, who read them though! :o

dialect comes into play here, then the modern abbreviations, and especially (mainly in the US), new creations, like "dink" = double incoe, no kids"..... :D

but, nevertheless, with a lil effort, it can normally be worked out!

  5. well sometimes things pop up unexpectedly :D

    "unexpectedly???" :D:D

    OP:

if you are talking about how farang ladies in LOS should be treated, that certainly means you are looking for a different treatment than thai ladies get?! :o

i guess, you're not looking for any worse treatment, but any better treatment would mean an absolute discrimination of thai ladies! :D

  6. For example, at a 'T' junction. My understanding is:

Fig 1 - Straight on is permitted, turning right is not.

Fig 2 - Straight on is permitted, only turn right if safe to do so.

Fig 3 - Straight on and turning right (filter) is permitted.

    Fig 1 - I agree

    Fig 3 - I agree

Fig 2 - if there is a possible light for turning, no turning without that light

all under the presumption, that all lights are working??! :o

    happens sometimes! :D

  7. WOW, LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT (not sure, but after I get to know her a little more, about 20 minuets, I am sure)
isn't it nice, that even "experienced" grownups still have the chance to fall in love?!! :o

enough time to worry later, if necessary at all, just enjoy present :D

(I am too tired now, so part 2 next time.)

    oops, that's already happened! :D

  8. Last time I was in Bangkok, I'm sure that the water had a strong chlorine smell, rather like a swimming pool and after showering, my eyes were sore. All the while I can afford bottled water, I think I will stick with it.

thats what drove me crazy in the US! not only on cruise ships (ofur to five star standard) but allover the country, restaurants, everywhere, the water has so much chlorine, you are not used to it, can't drink it! :o

  9. anyone got any news about the italian guy who was found dead "with blood on the back of his head"? in a hotel in BKK on thursday? :o

apparently his girlfriend went to see the body but police denies her. :D

  10. However, I am assuming there are lots of Thais too poor to even buy the cheapest bulk bottled water.

So, what diseases might a person get by drinking this water?

in the villages, Thais have two possibilities :

    - drinking rain water, collected from the roof, running down by 'clean tubes",

    - diiging a hole, drinking 'ground water'

actually, it can't be too bad, as some of them grow very old too! :o

    as to buadhai:

how to you tell the 'bad bacteria' to stay away, and only let the good ones come and help you replenish? :D

to Soph: in most countries, including Mexico, ... people to use 'bad water' to brush their teeth, as they usually don't down it, and a brandy after works wonder - I would suggest it in Mexico after every meal anyway (no harm, if it's a bigger one!) :D

    to Random:

some areas have nice government water, but the water some use to make ice???

got some ice from the official supplier, forget to empty the cup - next day looked lil bit brown and dirty! :D

  11. It's the only type of cooking a real man will do. When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion:

    (1) The woman buys the food.

    (2) The woman makes the salad, vegetables, and dessert.

    (3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand.

    Here comes the important part:

    (4) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.

    More routine....

    (5) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.

    (6) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he deals with the situation.

    Important again:

    (7) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.

    More routine.....

    (8) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table.

    (9) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.

    And most important of all:

    (10) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.

    (11) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed "her night off." And, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women....

    :o

as this certainly doesn't come from personnel experience, I wonder, whom you might be referring to? :D

  12. interesting live coverage (although they never said when it was really filmed) late last night on ITV :

South Pattaya road, market (24/7) opposite the temple : 04.00am some 'monks' come to get their contribution from people : money, food...

the food they give back to one shop who gives them an equivalent in cash, and sells the food again, to be again given to 'monks'...

around 06.00am the real monks come.

several people interviewed and testing, that those who come at 04.00 am are not real 'monks', but people skimming people, and that this skam has been ongoing since about 5 years.

mayor - in an interview - promisses to stop it, and suddenly police show up, brings all monks to the temple, where they find out, that 3 of them are no monks.

they are sent home to their village, lady's shop is closed, but in interviews people say :

"it doesn't help sending them home, new ones will come and do the same"

the monks from the temple state, they are not going out before 06.00am! and that's a shame, to skim devot people.

  13. I've never understood why so many men put up with high maintainece bunny boilers.

On another note, professionally, personal relationships at the office always end in tears.

22 ears ago, I had to come to BKK to conclude a business, and as we were invited for dinner, they took some of the office girls with them.

later the men went to Patpong, and I asked the boss of the company, why they were going there, if they had such stunning girls in the office :

    never forget his answer :

NEVER PUT YOUR PEN IN A COMPANY'S INK!" :o

  14. I know its in Surin, and not part of this area (so slightly off topic)

but this is my house in Surin.

    .gallery_6129_71_1106539263.jpg

The guy and his crew will travel

    RC, yes yes yes.

You get a company and you get the convienance of having the project management paid for.

It seems to be about 50,000 to 100,000 extra. But if you can't sit there on site for 3 months or visit nearly every dsy, then you need to do that.

As I said before, I don't strongly recommend this guy, even though his work is excellent, more the management of him and his "Ways"

BTW turn-key price of the house itself was about 1 million baht. Its about 300 square meters and has all the western inclusions. So for 32,000 Australian dollars, or 25,000 USD, I think its fantastic. For the same in Sydney would be around 120,000 or more.

    MAtt

very nice house, indeed - mine is about the same size, but bungalow style - as I'm a lazy guy and hate stairs! :D

by "turn-key" you mean everything included, like european built -in kitchen, walk-in closet, all electricel equipment and furniture?

    than it's a real bargain! :o

    Matt

  15. She might be a red hot raver or she might be a total dud! lazy and selfish and a loser...............................

................................... or she might even wonder what on earth she is doing holed up with such an arrogant <deleted> with a micro penis and actually decide of her own volition to blow you out like a wet fart and move on to a real man. :D

    p.s. are you an american.

one could argue that your wording is not too polite or friendly?! :o

but - on second thought : RIGHT ON THE POINT! :D

  16. Ok you have met this gorgeous doll of 21-23 years approx, you have discussed the financial details and where she will live and what she will do for the monthly deal.

Now comes the tricky bit , how do you know she is up to the job and will do what you expect her to do? She might be a red hot raver or she might be a total dud! lazy and selfish and a loser. Do you have to arrange a trial meeting in the sack ? and is there a cooling off period when you or her can pull out of the deal ? Is it all a verbal agreement ?

and What happens if things dont work out after say 3 months ? or you meet an even nicer potential mianoi ??

supposing this is not a troll?! :D

then it's probably time you find out, or someone tell you that a lot of things can be bought, but unless you just want a doll to replace the good old "do-it-yourself" -

you can't buy love, affection, etc. :D

what you can buy is a "service", and this can be negotiated, but then, it's probably better to go to an existing place for it, and as you like to save money anyway (as from one of your last posts to the same subject) - that wil be cheaper ! :o
