:D the agent simply prints out a referal letter from their lawyers firm that the bank management has obviously agreed to honor. You do understand youre in Thailand right? Corruption is the way most things are done and cash has always smoothed the way to get what you want. I had a nice chuckle at your outrage over "illegal" lol

Getting nothing but scammers on facebook marketplace, very frustrating. Anyone thinking of selling their ps5? I wanted a new slim but they arent available here in thailand yet so dont want to buy a new outdated model, used sure but not new.

Shipping ID and credit cards from Thailand to Canada
TheLaughingMan replied to TheLaughingMan's topic in General Topics
For some reason not able to edit my own post so updating here, I called fedex Thailand, and they assured me I CAN send credit cards to Canada using their service. I was just a little wary of this because I read on here that fedex and other companies couldn't send credit cards but maybe that was just if credit cards are coming into Thailand not out of Thailand? But how safe is it? I wouldnt dream of labelling the package credit cards sending to Thailand as someone over here would definately steal them lol, but sending to Canada... would it be safe? -

Looking for a little advice, my mother recently left to head back to Canada and of course forgot all her ID and credit and bank cards....so now I need to send them to her asap. What are my options for fast secure service? Money not an issue if it means getting them to her safe and quickly. -
Inguinal hernia surgery recommendations
TheLaughingMan replied to cven's topic in Health and Medicine
I went to Shouldice Hospital in Toronto Canada, costs in the range of 120k baht with 3 night stay. My hernia was quite large and old. The Shouldice method does NOT use mesh but is very strong. People from all over the world go there as its a hospital that ONLY does hernias, check them out as an option. -
Visa based on having a Thai child

But why does the court need to wait until the child is 5 to do a paternity test? -
Visa based on having a Thai child
TheLaughingMan replied to TheLaughingMan's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Not yet, there's a law about divorce waiting time so he cant marry her until the waiting time of 310 days after her previous marriage ended. -
My friend is getting the run around at immigration, Im assuming to pressure him into using an agent (their suggestion) so they get their share. He had all the requirements and money and paperwork but suddenly they are saying he needs a paper from the court proving the child is his and you cant get this paper until the child is 5 years old. His child is less than a month old. This seems like an outright lie. What would be the point of the child needing to be 5? He is named as the father on the birth certificate. Can anyone confirm this 5 year old thing or proof from the court is complete nonsense or is this actually the law?

Theres a paper in the passport that had the 3 month check in date on it, and below that mentions the 2k-5k penalty plus 200 a day if you are late reporting in. I already know Pattaya does things very differently from the rest of Thailand but its frustrating anyway. Its our own fault for not understanding when the 3 month check in started.

Hey tried going through alot of this thread but couldnt find an answer: ARRIVAL THAILAND DATE, on the form is it asking for the literal last date of entry into Thailand or is it asking for the last stamp date at the beginning of the retirement visa process? Im assuming actual entry into Thailand but just want to make sure.

Updated info on good hospitals in Bangkok
TheLaughingMan replied to TheLaughingMan's topic in Health and Medicine
Right but how are we supposed to find the right doctor when we dont even know whats wrong? Or even if we did know what was wrong, what am I missing here in this "choosing a good doctor" advice, I dont get it, is there a yelp review section for doctors in thailand? ???? My mother was having breathing trouble and lots of pain in her left shoulder and upper chest and pain breathing in. They did tons of tests and everything came back normal, they charged us 9k and sent her home, outrageous in my opinion but whatever. Since then and taking anti-inflamatories 2 times a day shes been able to keep the attacks of pain to a minimum but they are still there. -
Ive seen some posts that are 10 years old and was wondering if anyone had some updated information or opinions on good government or private hospitals in Bangkok. We were using Sukhumvit hospital at Ekamai and they charge alot and dont seem to fix anything. We'd like to try a good government hospital if there is such a thing. Are ST Louis or Bangkok Christian Hospital still decent hospitals? What about Mission or Siriraj Piyamaharajkarun Hospitals? Thankyou

Should I have hernia done in private or public hospital
TheLaughingMan replied to ubonr1971's topic in Health and Medicine
I know this isnt what you asked but giving you this info just in case its something you want to consider, I flew to Canada to go to the famous Shouldice Hospital Hernia clinic, they DO NOT use mesh so theres less chance of complications. Heres a link to my review of it last December. It will cost less than the quoted Thai private hospital fee and is recognised as one of the best in the world for Hernia surgeries, they ONLY do hernias.
