  1. The one time I went there, I was very disappointed. I went with a Thai friend on my first vacation to Thailand. He wanted to show me the "red light" district so I'd know what everyone was talking about. When we got there, I was like, "what? this is IT?? It's PATHETIC!" Based on all the internet-hype, I was expecting some grand Las Vegas style clubs with uber-hot women strolling around. The reality is a ramshackle collection of dingy, SMELLY little bars filled with hollow-eyed, stretch-marked, toothless hags.

    :o

  2. try not to go for the expensive brands like sony/pioneer, I have one of each and some patpong DVDs will work in one but not the other. Upon taking them back to the shop to exchange them, they put them in a soken DVD player there and half the time they work :o

  3. WCR,

OK lets remind people that you were a Tourist Police Volunteer for a short time before you quit as you found it too boring. Understandable becasue you are an ex-cop from the UK and your comment regarding "Fighting crime" clearly indicates the reasons behind you wanting to Volunteer. They are the wrong reasons, we are not Policemen.

I am getting sick of people analysing our every move and guessing what we are doing. So once again I will explain our actions on Saturday night. The reason we were strutting around and looked a bit serious because we were looking for a man from Finland who was causing trouble in every bar he was going into. He was thrown out of Tony's and left an unpaid bar bill in an opposite beer bar. He was very drunk and we were told that he had just been punched in the face by a Thai man. We were urgently looking for him to get him off of Walking Street and back to his hotel before he was more seriously hurt. WCR, I saw you sitting in the beer bar outside Living Dolls with your friend and saw how you were avoiding eye contact with me. Dot be shy, if you have a problem, come and speak to me.

settle it in the ring ladys :o

  4. Why does a change of motherboard need a format of the c partition? I've changed / upgraded several, with winXP perfectly detecting the new MB and installing all respective drivers. Just make sure afterwards to replace the drivers installed by windows with the drivers supplied by the MB manufacturer as these normally would be more recent versions!

Not sure if previous versions of Windows would be able to do this though...

    You have been V.Lucky :o

  5. Ok, we all give our girlfriend(s) money in one way or another, but have you ever given her money and made her promise to you to give it back within a certain timeframe? If so, did she give it back? Reason i'm asking, i gave my g/f a larger amount of money (+10,000B) two weeks ago for something university related her family usually pays for but they couldn't at that time. So now, the two weeks are over and i got my money back from her, not one setang less than what i gave her. You know, i thought i would most likely never see it again, but i was just proven wrong. :D:o

tight git, I bet she was well chuffed when you stuffed it back in yer wallet :D

  6. I think you will find if you get caught doing this in the UK 9 times out of 10 the police would be called whether you say you accidently got another ticket at a 60th of the price or not.. The 1 out of the 10 would addmittedly be the category your mate is in, as his wife would no doubt assume the position and get down on her knees :o

  7. During the Euro 2004 from what I can remember a thai police official was quoted as saying that it was NOT illegal to gamble on the internet in thailand, even if you were using a thai bank account, PROVIDED the site/transactions were located outside Thailand.

What would be illegal in thailand however, would be not to declare any profits relating to money used from a thai bank account as they would be subject to tax upon being transfered back to the thai bank.

Hope this clears it up :o

Fairly sure this guy was quoted in a post in the news section of the forum from an article related to gambling and Euro 2004...

  8. Hope you did resolve your problems .

If you have the digital cable decoder, the connection I find the best was to use ( buy ) a S-VHS cable and heavy cable for the left and right stereo audio.

In menu / setup / other option I change the screen size from 4/3 to 16/9 .

For the dvd player I use the component connection with 5 cables to the television .

cheers for the help, once I had told them I wanted a refund there was someone round here with a new one within an hour :o

They tryed to make out it was my fault for not earthing it, but soon shut up when I pointed out that it was their engineers that installed/set it up the previous day :D

  9. I have a Radeon 9600XT 128MB card, made by Asus. Handles all the games so far. It's fully DX9 and I have been very pleased with it.

I ahve the same one and hasn't let me down yet. How much did you pay for it? I payed B8000 in Phuket for it about 2 weeks ago.

How much is a Creative Sound Card Audigy 2 ZS sound card running for these days? Pantip price has it listed at B5000, but that sounds a little pricey.

    http://www.pantipprice.com/product.asp?ct_id=14&all=1

Has anyone every actually ordered something from panthip price? I have contacted them on a number of occasions to purchase stuff that their site says is in stock and not once have they had it, from what I could gather its a guy running the site from his bedroom, buying the stock to order from hardware house and adding a few hundred baht on :o

  10. My friend just arrived back from a 2 week holiday. He went to the car to find his wife had lost the ticket. He went to the entry gate and pressed the button. It gave him a new ticket. He went to the machine stamped the ticket and paid the 1.50gbp. He pulled the car round and shoved the ticket in. Gate opened and off he went. Saved himself about 80gbp.

Isn't that terrible, I don't condone this sort of thing. :o:D:D

Anyone like to share anymore similar scams so I can frown upon the perpatrators. :D

If you get caught doing that in the UK you'll probably be looking @ a +1kGBP fine, not a few hundred bat to the local filth :D Is it worth it?

  11. Plus they have 1k tariff for taking a hoe back

And what if she is a girl that is on holiday but staying in another hotel, is she also classified as a hoe and you would pay 1000 baht?

Do you mean that any guest, male or female would incur a 1000 baht supplement even if it was your mother?

no idea, but they have charged my card with no receipt or mention of it at the dusit for takin em back. One time I had taken 2 girls back on the first night and they charged 2k per night for the length of the stay without saying a word or putting it on any bills :o And this was after I had told the guy on the front desk that one was my wife and the other her sister....
