I am off back to sunny old England and would like to know whether I'd be better off exchanging my Bahts here in Thailand or wait till I get to England or doesn't it make the slightest difference?
Another question, I have an Thai bank a/c which has issued me with a 'visa electron' card...can I use this in the U.K and does anyone know what the 'penalties' for doing so are?

If Had lek is the checkpoint near trat I think you will have problems taking your car over the boarder there, one of the touts said to me that in 6 years not once had he seen a farang take a car thru the checkpoint

Recived delivery of a TV/Home Theatre system yesterday evening, within 2 hours the home theatre had packed in, 100% manufacturers fault and not theres I know, BUT. They say I have to take it to the shop to have it looked @. Is this the usual protocol in thailand? I countered by saying that I would be filing for a refund from my CC company for defective goods if they didnt sort it out @ my home, now awaiting a phonecall. Do their engineers not have legs?
Surely this cant be right, what would have happened if it was the TV that packed in? They would have expected me to take a 40" TV to the shop to have it looked @?
Avoid these people, complete pi55 takers from what I can gather
The other thing they did, was convince me to travel to the shop to pay for the items promising same day delivery if I did, upon arrival I was told they never had it in stock and I would have to wait till the following day, so that was another 2 hours these jokers wasted....

Be V.Carefull, some of the less exclusive malls that look cosha will have shops in them selling top quality fakes but passing them off as original
I remember paying USD$200 for some sunglasses in singapore that turned out to be fake, this was from somewhere of similar standing to Emporium Yer pretty much going to pay the same here as you would in the UK anywayz, + theres not the same selection in thailand.
Deffintely some bargins to be had though, in pattaya a month or so ago there was a cerruti jeans promotional stand in one of the malls for some reason, they were selling genuine polos/underware/etc @ less than 20% of the UK highstreet price.

You can get any PS2 DVD game for 100 bat with a top quality printed disc and sleave

What does my mia noi do all day.?Well, when she is Bangkok she has to go to school or work. I paid one and a half years for her at AUA, and lately she has been working in a business I set her up in .
It doesn't throw off enough cash to make her independent yet, thus I still have to pay her apartment rent and other incidentals.
When I am in Thailand the mia noi usually comes down to my beach house in Phuket with me on holiday leave. In Bangkok, though I can only take her out to small places where I am not likely to see my business partners or their wives - as it would not be socially acceptable for her to appear in public with me. She understands and accepts this.
One thing that she really likes to do is come to Hong Kong or Singapore with me. Again she stays in the hotel when I have business oriented functions but otherwise we can go out to many places in those towns. And, of course ,she really enjoys shopping with an American Express credit card that I got her.
Also when I am too busy to spend time with her, the mai noi is welcome to have family members from Issan stay with her in Bangkok, so there is often a brother or sisiter in the apartment. But, when I come for the night they need to disappear quick. Also, she knows that I have detectives checking on her to ensure that she never receives any male visitors, because the moment I discover that she has slept with another chap, the monthly payments will cease, and the apartment rent and the BMW lease will no longer be paid by my accountant.
So could we say it's like buying exclusive rights to a prostitute?
