  1. You are the only person who seems to not understand. I'll leave it at that 😏
  2. Why not? You want to means test to cut pensions. I'm just saying it's only fair to means test how to raise them too. Equality and all. "laff" is a regional accent.
  3. No. That is not the question. The question is, why have you not kept up with the thread before another, failed attempt at trolling. You've let yourself down, again.
  4. I'll wait until you grasp the basic concepts of English. Then you'll understand.
  5. That's all well and good but means test it all ways. Those that have never been in hospital get more. Those with no kids get more, they've not used education facilities they've paid for. Those that have been on 40% tax get more. They've paid in more. Just a few ideas. "but it is the Govts. task to look out for the wider good is it not?" It's an individual's job to look out for themselves, is it not? Means test why someone has reached pensionable age with nothing . Check their working history and their spending habits. Why should someone whose been irresponsible with their money most of their working lives be rewarded?
  6. Without it I'll need to be less frivolous. I like the idea of frivolity as I get older. I've worked hard in my life. Looking forward to having more than enough money to do what I want. I could do without state pension but, seeing as it's there, I plan to enjoy it.
  7. No. Not political. I'm saving and planing for my retirement. Should be in a few years when I'm 60. I'll have enough to have a good time, help the kids out when they want to buy a property and leave a nice inheritance. When my state pension arrives when I'm 67 it will be mine, to do with what I wish.
  8. As has everyone. Some more than others. By all means give your pension away. Just don't expect others to. Should everyone who can afford private healthcare not use NHS? Should everyone who can afford private education for their kids not use government run schools?
  9. Not at all. I've never felt the need to lecture about others. which I've not done here, to appreciate my own life, my achievements, my family or my current situation. They all speak for themselves. However, I thank you for your concern.
  10. Not needing to troll for something to do in life? Then I agree with you. I do feel better.
  11. Sarcasm. That's clever. £10 for a few beers in Brighton is unlikely. Probably double that. A lot for someone supposedly down and out and trying to be careful with money.
  12. "Sunk a few beers" is what he said. Shortly after having said how careful he needs to be with his money. Anyway, it doesn't matter. It's all Jackanory.
  13. You've clearly not been keeping up. He said he did have money. Spent it in the pub. Now he says he doesn't have money. If I was him I'd sleep under a bridge, with the rest.
  14. Nothing novel or complicated about it. Why pay for something you're not going to get? Sad state of affairs at Plainmoor, BTW. I was at Boots and Laces a while back. Loooong faces all round. However, that's another conversation for another time.
  15. Why should people be denied an entitlement just because they've also self funded their retirement? Let's all tell the government whether we'll self fund when we all start work and pay a lesser rate of tax and NI as a result. That's fair, isn't it?
  16. He has no money. It doesn't matter what things cost if you have no money. By the way, that wasn't my comparison.
  17. He has no money. Remember? He's getting no help. Remember? He's had all the sympathizers on here hook, line and sinker.
  18. You are funny. Free charging too. I've never seen that. You said he didn't buy a phone.
  19. Unlikely, having read the whole thread with regards to his alleged situation. I wonder where he charges his device.
  20. Exactly my point. He has purchased a mobile device and an internet connection. He has money.
  21. He has an option on what to spend money, which he says he doesn't have, on.
  22. Living on a bench, with a device with access to internet, spending time speaking to those thousands of miles away. I can't help thinking you've got your priorities all wrong.
  23. It is means tested. The more years you pay, the more you get. As for tax, many pensioners are tax payers.
