I have been asked 3 times in the past 8 years. Twice at land borders, once at Swampy. Luckily I had it with me in all 3 cases.
-
I tried to get my non-imm B visa transferred into my new passport at Swampy and they told me I had to just bring both passports next time I left the country.

You can get a WP as a General Manager.
-
You need to show proof that you paid your yearly taxes and your staff's social security to be able to renew your work permit.

Looks like I may have do do my visa bounce in April then and perhaps not go anywhere for holidays until after I get a new passport. Which means no holidays basically, as I won't get my passport back until, well, long after my holidays. Don't want to risk getting stuck somewhere or being on overstay.
Thanks for your help everyone.

Thanks ubonjoe. That is exactly what I wanted to know.
And I have, but won't be there long enough and will have to pay quite a bit to get it back quickly. Plus, it doesn't expire until October so I want to hold off as long as I can.

I am planning on going back to my home country, so the 6 month validity is not an issue. What I am wondering about is when I come back into Thailand. Has anyone ever entered the country with a multiple entry non-immigrant visa and less than 6 months on their passport?

Has anyone had problems entering the country with less than 6 months on their passport but a multiple entry non-immigrant B visa and WP? I am thinking about going away in May and when I return I will only have around 5 months (or a bit less) left on my passport. It takes around 20 days to get a new passport and there is just not enough time, as I won't be able to get to Bangkok to renew until at least the end of April.
My next 90-day visa run is also not within the 6-month period.
If I don't go away I will do my border run in April, before the 6 months is up. But that also means no holiday in May

Contact Soi Dogs or Lanta Animal Welfare. These 2 organisations have loads of experience with this.

Best to fly or take the train back.
-
You cane buy ferry tickets with Raja ferry online, which many with vehicles do to ensure a space.
-
You can not legally work on a ed-visa.
-
Last time I was there they had 2 lines; one for 90-day report and one for extensions.
Steelerian, many doing 90-day reports work and need to get back to work rather than spend a day at immigration. Whereas tourists don't really have anything they need to rush back to

Will do.

Thanks everyone. I will ring up Manit later today and see if he can help me out. Otherwise, I guess I will be flying to Bangkok.

Anyone have any experience with lawyers in Samui? I need someone with experience in business and family law. Any recommendations would be great. I am hoping to save myself a trip up to Bangkok.

Best to come and have a look around. There are loads of places on that side of the island.

I have bought hemp protein powder in Thailand, so it is definitely legal. Not sure if I would bring it in with me though.

No minimum for WP but there is a minimum in tax that you must pay in order to renew the WP and/or get an extension of stay.

Thank you for your replies. Having him get a vasectomy is not an option. So I am looking for information on getting myself sterilised. I may ring up BNH and see what they say.

Better check with your local immigration office. Mine will only allow me to do it 7 days before and not after.

TB is extremely contagious if you are living under the same roof. It is also very dangerous. My husband had it and refused to see a doctor (we actually thought it was dengue at first). Eventually it went to his brain and he was in a coma. We are very lucky he pulled through and in 100% better, but the doctor said if/when he woke up he may have brain damage.
IMO he should get proper meds now before it is too late!
BTW he was immunized for it but clearly it did not work. The doctors had to do many tests before they could determine what was wrong and had initially ruled TB out due to his immunization. He nearly died in the process.
Do business visa holders get asked to show their work permit by IOs?

Nope. Always multiple entry non-imm B. I don't qualify for an extension of stay so have never had one.
