  1. "a few screws loose.'' Just about the whole world love to believe in just about anything repeated often enough, and all believe that their 'screws' are firmly tightened. Not only coming from Fox News. "Sent on behalf of: -The 2.2 billion of Christians -The 1.5 billion of Muslims -The 488 million de Buddhists -The one billion of believers in Hinduism - -the 28 million believers in Sikhism -the 13 million believers in Judaism -the 104 million believers in Shinto - -The 4 million believers in Jainism -and lesser known religions -without forgetting the 189 members of the Flat Earth Society
  2. I would think that most foreigners would consider giving back a man's 'slap', so that this woman would consider the fact that men are stronger. And you may be right, most Thai men would simply not even consider to slap back. Cultural traits take over their instinctive reaction....
  3. So because of that, he cannot be interested in an event that happened in his newly found land??? You appear to be interested in this also, but you are a significant one we must conclude... Thanks for your post...
  4. No helmet does not imply automatic guilt. Now he is certainly not looking for 'sympathy', but certainly for justice. He was certainly careless, to follow what most motorbike drivers do here. Even If that does make him partly responsible for his injuries, he would still be entitled to justice. Not only in a scenario where the victim would be a member of your own family. Sympathy.... When someone feels a little emotional pinch at the sight of the oncoming accident...
  5. Well, even if you start with a lie, the fake 'LOL', there, while you throw vitriol. At least it gave you a chance to insert a confusing and unrelated video, that you were waiting to share I presume... And I see that English is obviously not your first language. Would you be Russian, or perhaps Arabian. Just curious..
  6. Yes the culture..... A culture where kids are forced to show respect to elders, rather than simply showed how to be friendly. A culture where people teach their children that adults are more worthy than them, you have to 'wai' to adults. Seems to me that when these kids grow up, they want to show that now, they are 'grown-ups', but ill equipped to do so based on their upbringing. And they do not want to fail in showing that they are now strong. Even if it takes 5 of them to show their newly-acquired manhood... There is something real nasty that has been embedded in the mind of these people.... Not seen in my culture. Anyone has another cause to effect reasoning for this behavior that we see here....
  7. ''Multilingual signage and information brochures: Providing clear instructions and information about hospital procedures in multiple languages, including Russian, can help manage patient expectations and avoid misunderstandings." One loaded precedent... How many languages, how many procedures? Oh yes, the procedure about giving your name at the reception, getting a cue number, and waiting for your turn. All these confusing steps that people of different culture and language seem to understand by intuition....
  8. Just trying to seduce her.... Casanova was not in his list of 'how to' teacher....
  9. Oh, a man from Canada that is... No more such a thing as a Canadian man. Surprised he/she is not wearing a burka, like they wear now in Canadian stores. Would have made him/her more beautiful as a start....
  10. Well how about that..... In possession of a technology to measure blood alcohol level, but they always forget at the station any hand held speed radar. Pulling over a vehicle for speeding might be construed as a denial of freedom...
  11. I was under the impression that any police officer being promoted to a higher level, promotion paid for or not, was promoted under the condition that this individual would do just about nothing to change the culture and ways of policing here. So I was wrong so it appears...
  12. What do you man by 'sugar'. Refined white sugar?. Or carbs and sweet fruit, which are not the problem.
  13. This here is the real problem. Refined sugar sold at one Super Cheap Minimart, in about 10 days. Bought mainly by people who cook for others. All these one kilo packs of refined sugar, white and brown, were eaten by clients unaware that the cooks know nothing about cooking, and put refined sugar and MSG so that they appear as making good food. What Thai people here are used to is that taste of sugar, and they now love it. I cook with no sugar at all, I have not bought refined sugar in the last 40 years, and my food taste good. Just not because of refined sugar. And I will not eat Thai food. Unrefined food cooked by unrefined people...
  14. Don’t forget the sugar in alcohol! Just as harmful. Not true. The slow acting poison is refined sugar. Not what you ingest from food. Fruit are a good food for example. And the real problem is that Thai food is all laced with refined sugar.
  15. Children reacting the only way their culture taught them, in order to save face....
  16. Finding this dangerous.... Must have been a lifetime on the beach, oblivious of what can be seen on the roads.....
  17. That would not have happened if the local culture would not require drivers to go faster than a normal individual would consider safe...
  18. Better than in the US. Where Immigrants and visitors are just allowed to roam free on the streets, for as long as they want, stealing and raping.
  19. Yes quite right. The brainwashing that everyone is subjected to makes it that people do not possess 'free will'. So what we decide is based on what our culture has imposed on us. But when we deal with religious brainwashing, then this can make people act on their brainwashing results. Believing in an invisible man is a delusion. And these delusions can make people do horrible things. Religious delusions, the basis of so many deaths through history. My brainwashing related to having to shake hands with another individual, as much as it is the result of brainwashing, is in another level, as nobody will want to kill someone based on how a handshake is done.
  20. Quite so... I dream of the day when it would be illegal to brainwash children into believing in invisible men. Muslims are subjected to the most brainwashing in this world. So they refuse to believe in anything that goes contrary to the teachings of the Koran, and the Imams. The recipe for success in religious brainwashing is through rituals. Islams has the most rituals as it might be. Praying 5 times a day, the Ramadan, the visits to the Mosque, to receive a brainwashing boost to their delusion. And this brainwashing includes a deep rooted hate, particularly of the Jews, and is also extended sometimes to Infidels. So they will always find a narrative to praise Islam, and repel the infidels. Always....
  21. So small problems like this should be resolved by use of violence you think. A type of bar scam happened to me once. I paid and walked away. Never went back. Buyer beware. Lesson learned. Move on....
  22. Whale sharks are protected wild animals under Thailand’s Wildlife Preservation and Protection Act, as their populations have significantly declined due to hunting for their fins. *** Touched a wildlife animal, Jail ....Unacceptable behavior in the sea water..... Thai people are protected by many laws, as the population is decreasing due mainly to road casualties. ***Oh well, acceptable collateral damage to the culture of the land...
  23. Just look at the pictures. The brown sugar packs are more visible. But the white ones also. I see them regularly. Some packs are put on shelves, but they sell so fast, that what you see on the pics do not even go inside the mart. Thais are addicted to refined sugar. And I think that they do not know the consequences. Most of this sugar is bought by street cooks.
