Don't think anyone is saying it's not up to it but even my cousins who are life long United fans said to me a few months ago it's looking shoddy now and needs a face lift.

We can poke a bit of fun but the bottom line is that nice new stadium creates not just an immediate increase in revenue but opens the door to the possibilities of serious money in terms of US cable tv money.  Forget the nice swish new stadium for a moment, its the US money, american NFL that Joe Lewis has been working in these recent years.  Thats the jewell in the crown and i expect other club to follow suit.  For Spurs, our owners being US based doesn't hurt matters either.

If United did the same, and then add to that the global revenue they already generate, their income would be mind boggling.

    You've just had a week off. Ours is a tougher-er month ????

Yet both times i've watched City recently they've won easily, in second gear and look like they are saving themselves for, erm, us!!!!  I really don't like the sound of that!

One hope is that possibly some of your world class midfield might be rusty having been rested too much!????

Of course we should beat them on paper. Can't remember who said it but football isn't played on paper. Never take a game as a given, or complacency will beat you

Yes, its possible you could lose but aside of a case of food poisoning its high on impossible to visualize.

    Lambs to the slaughter that.

Unlike the three games against us where City will be put under some pressure....its a question of whether we can sustain that over 90 mins when they bring on top players with half an hour left and our bench is thin.

A tough fortnight coming for us.

Most certainly. We need to win the first leg 3-0???? to have a chance to go through,  and then we need the three points against Huddersfield and i note that some of the chasing pack have some tricky fixtures.

No final is easy Ronnie. I remember Wigan

That was more about how City contrived to lose it.  Anyway, as you well know, you have absolutely no business either losing to Watford or letting it get particularly competitive, such is the gulf in talent the two sides. Reality.

You're not in the European elite until you win the premier competition in Europe.

But with your small time attitude it doesn't look like the fans will help.... BB says he isn't bothered about winning the CL!

To say you are not interested in winning the european cup is simply childish nonsense but how unearth can you say City are not one of the elite when they are second favorites to win it?!!!

You sound like a RAG that simply can't accept you support a fallen giant, neither that the power shift in manchester is absolutely total now and not likely to change in any near future.  Teams go to the Eithihad with nothing more than a slim hope of a point, yet go to OT looking for three points.  I'm sure you remember to days when this scenario was quite the opposite but you do seem to need reminding.

Hearing some United fans talking about football is starting to sound like the Good Old Days.....

Apparently its all going to level out for City in the summer.

    Concrete apparently.

But using that phrase the head of UEFA has dug a colossal hole for himself if it doesn't happen.  You simply cannot use a term like that and get proven wrong.  Which begs the question as to why, when he  made this statement, three months ago, why wasn't action taken immediately?  Because the point is twofold; first if they do not sanction City then they had no business making such a statement and City should sue them and if they are sanctioned, why wasn't it done three months ago, with City being thrown out of the CL?  This is not being dealt with properly whichever way you look at it and whatever side you are on.  City are innocent till proven guilty supposedly so why, if they are deemed innocent of charges should they have had to have played for half the season with this hanging over their heads. On the flip side, if guilty,  why are they still in the competition.  The head of UEFA would have been better off keeping his trap shut imo.

Sorry Liverpool fans i forgot which thread i was on!!!!!!

With three of our next four games against them will be interesting to see what Poch does tactically since we can't match them at all on squad strength.

Oh that's simple, we have to hope we play at our very best, we get all the luck and they have a major off day.  I'm actually incredibly relaxed about these three fixtures because i'm expecting little so i can only be nicely surprised.  And it would be sooooo funny!!!

But of course,  if Joe had thrown the kind of money in that their owners have then  thats the kind of squad you'd expect to have isn't it.  If you throw in that much cash you will win silverware, you will sweep aside the mighty Brighton,  however,  an owner like Lewis who believes in spending what you generate.  Apparently there's something wrong with that but not in my book.  it might take a lot longer to win something but as and when it will be so much more satisfying.

No doubt BB will disagree with you as his last valuation was something like 1.2B or perhaps even 1.4B ????????

Lets just settle on 1.5bn is it shuts BB up. Gotta worth it , right?  And maybe someone could criticize the bogs perhaps or the window tinting on the executive boxes!!!????

On a more serious note, it is satisfying seeing television presenters and journalists across the board swooning over it. Despite the huge cock up in finishing it, which i believe has cost us dearly this season everyone seems quite taken by the finished article.  And from the way Uncle Joe was blubbering throughout the opening ceremony the old boy certainly feels a sense of achievement and so he should.   Might as well enjoy the praise now because Real Madrid's new build will be starting in the not too distant future

Yep, City looked on their last legs didn't they.........could have gone either way!!????

Pep desperately trying to talk things down now, but this is the time when vast superiority in squad takes effect and City are winning these games in second gear.

My point was to Rick. Not to go over this thing again with you to come to the same conclusion.

You are an intelligent person BB, I don't know why you just can't admit things that are plainly obvious. Your stadium was half empty, see attached. Whatever you "sold" is irrelevant, people aren't bothered about going to watch you. It's a running joke across football. You actually claiming you have more fans attend matches than Liverpool is so absurd. If I was a City fan I'd admit it tell me to shove it, I've got 3 league titles yet you fight it like a xxxxxxx.

Your club cooks their books, why not cook their attendance. It's an Arab thing mate, the economy is collapsing but you'll never hear about it. Officially everything is better than ever.

Why is your club sending back tickets for your FA cup semi, can't sell them. The REALITY.

Honestly Bob, there are far more important things regards to City than whether they can fill their stadium as i believe you are going to find out this summer.  However if City were to win this years champions league it would be awfully embarrassing for footballs governing bodies what with the "concrete evidence" they claim they have with respect to City and financial doping.  Ofcourse if City won this years CL it would be taken away, more likely a ban the following year but it really would render the win as hollow.  If they are so 100% convinced of their findings it does beg the question as to why City are still in this years competition and haven't been removed.

Anyway, i shall not comment on this again, we shall wait till the summer, and i think we all know what the term "concrete evidence" suggests.

If I had been a Man U supporter this year under Murino, sitting in my expensive seat, I would have been dismayed at how little effort some of my players were putting in. I wouldn't have been best pleased to see a sudden improvement under OGS. The club pays the wages, not the manager.

I'm with you Carms. Pogba was a 'virus' for a long time and Sanchez, especially at 350k a week, is just a waste of money.

Totally agree. Pogba disrespected the club and the fans, although i do agree with their pragmatic thinking that whilst they didn't like his behavior they would keep back him again for the good of the club.  But to demand a pay rise after the season he's has is just plain rude!!

  14. Just been reading that Pogba wants a salary increase to 500k a week.  Has anyone told him he's been largely crap all season and ain't worth a pittance of what he's already getting paid?

And Ole is really going to have his work cut out if, as is being reported he wants rid of Sanchez because who on earth is going to pay those wages for that mercenary?

Call it what you want the photos and live footage don't lie. You don't have the fan base.

The point was any team can become a billionaires pet project and be successful.

The last line is irrefutable. Well i suppose you could offer the argument of "look at Leicester" as a counter that its not all about money but that is such a desperately sad argument.   And of course, looking at City's squad,  when you have that sort of quality and squad depth of course the quadruple is possible.  Look at their midfield <deleted>!!!!  They could lose 50% to long term injury and still field a world class line up.  Poor Pep has had it so rough his entire managerial career!!

But, everyone has to concede that City play great football. He might have spent nearly 700m but he's made it count, as opposed to Mourinho who spent in the region of 400m and produced the type of football that had you losing the will to live.

hahahahaha salty back wheels, don't cry too much it's in your hands, unless you get an offside goal against you and lose of course ????

In truth MrB is right, everything is going your way at the moment and at crucial times. That goal was blatantly offside and another error in a season where the officiating of games has been one big horror story.

But, you need a bit of luck to win the league, and as Rednose once said; it all levels out at the end of the season...????????

yeah it's fate, 79 points of luck and fate thus far.

To be honest Bob, City have the kind of points lead over the rest of the league that most honest fans would have had  in their pre season predictions.  The one anomaly being that Liverpool have managed to stick with them. I'm sure Guardiola is equally surprised knowing the armory he has at his disposal.  Its all very well that you got lucky last weekend but in reality its fair to say you should have killed it off in the first 45 mins. City are just waiting for the slip, because they don't look like anyones getting even close to taking points from them and he's still rotating like its mid season because with his phenomenal squad depth he can. This is reality for me.

I'll be surprised if we win one of these three games.

    Pleasantly surprised mind you!

Pep rested seven players for the Cardiff fixture, and they didn't bother to get out of second gear.

Liverpool will win the title if it's their destiny to do so but i just can't see it, whereas City right now, as a squad,  look as strong as they have ever been at this late stage of the season.  Liverpool will need a bit of luck and they are getting it and if they were to win the league it would be quite some achievement.

  20. Apparently lots of scuffles and ejections in/from the Park Lane stand last night.  All down to a number of fans wanting to sit.  Not a crime i hear you say, and you'd be right.  However..........

Unlike anyway else in the ground there was a very specific thought process behind this area of the ground.  This needs to be addressed and frankly, baring in mind the reason behind the "Wall" being designed and built you should not really be buying a ticket for this stand if you are a silent and in particular,  sitting supporter. I know the argument of i bought a seat and i'll sit in it but in respect of this part of the stadium i don't agree, you need to respect and go with the flow.

Just my opinion of course but i'd be interested in what other Spurs fans think.

Best thing about it is their ability to fill a non-biodegradable plastic cup with beer ????

Its what i'm reading from the journey Bob.  They're the ones knocking one out over it!!!!!  And i really have to defend it when the likes of Rick is suggesting were doomed and the next minute i'm looking at their hovel of a stadium with that astonishingly crap brick wall behind the dugout!  Naff or what!

Don't worry, despite the grandeur of the new White Hart Lane, there's still a very high chance of getting muggged within five minutes of leaving the stadium!

On a more serious note, i'm not hearing very good reports about the supposedly upgraded rail links.
