... I was riding my mc near the beach a few weeks ago and a girl jumped on the back. I said "where are we going" she said "up to you". I drove to a secluded beach and was properly polished. So I can't really complain about that one.
Please be kind enough to share the location ! ! !

I have a substantial charity acting on my behalf, and since I have a terminal illness I have been advised they can not sell the debt, and the charity is in the process of getting the lender to confirm they will not sell the debt
My lender is a a large stock exchange listed , company ; so will likely have to abide by the rules and guidelines
Others may be interested in guidelines for Standards of lending practice on the link below
I have no Uk assets whatsoever, except my government pension, I have been advised this is safe, but who knows?

I have a situation where it is possible a lender may get judgement against me in the UK, which I do not like but is not threatening my humble existence in Thailand
Does anyone have any experience of this.
If it were enforceable in Thailand does anyone know what the consequences might be
Any help or input appreciated

I opened my Lloyds Offshore Premier accounts (Isle of Man) with a scanned and emailed copy of my passport and a phone call from them telling me not to bother filling in the other form they emailed to me, I had been positively identified somehow.
Would have been about 2010. Things are probably different now
I too have lloyds IOM premier account, it also gives free international transfers, it has my Thai address on it and I have a visa debit card on it, so long as I maintain min bal 2500 there are no charges, and lost int at todays rates is minimal, also gives free travel ins to age 75
A couple of years ago I made the account joint with the Thai wife, took awhile but achieved without too much difficulty, no certified copies originals of some Thai bills they translated internally, being joint it will avoid IOM probate
I complained 2/3 times and was probably given around 200 pounds back to compensate for their mistakes
One of the more reasonable banks in todays environment
Remember banks do not like to lend the money in the beginning, they do not like if you repay early, and do not like if you repay late
I just do not like banks

yes pay pal is expensive on the exchange
however on some sites like Agoda you can chose your currency of billing, if you chose your Paypal base currency then Paypal does not penalise you, some time you can buy on eBay in base currency as well
the guarantee Paypal give is with some of the cost, due to using Paypal on some 200/300 purchases over the last 2/3 years, I have never lost out and Paypal have refunded me several times for non delivery or faulty goods

Thailand as we are all aware can be a legal challenge
I am 71 a UK passport holder not in good health, my wife is 30 yrs younger, I have two children around the same age as my wife, who gets everything, my children were provided for many years ago, I am wealthy by Thai standards, but if I lived in the UK it would be just above the survival level
I have a thai will witnessed by a lawyer here, but have also been advised by same lawyer here; it could be challenged
At one stage I went with joint accounts but then ascertained these would be frozen on death both here in thailand, and a brokers account outside the UK, I also have a QRORS Pension fund(Trust account)
Over the last year I have opened an offshore brokers account in the sole name of my wife, over which I have a power of attorney to do anything including emptying it, I operate this at present, but on my death it is safely in her name
I have ensured my wife has a will just in case she got killed in a motor accident or similar
I have a monthly and daily cash account at the same bank as she has and we both have internet accounts and passwords on her account and my account are the same, so she would transfer anything left in my to her account
Generally if and when I bring pension to thailand I bring it to her account then take out to my account what I want
This way probably no probate needed here or in the UK ( Ihave only small bank balance in UK)
I have been married 3 times before and taken to the cleaners by no 3 but I trust this wife, but still have safeguards in place
She looks after me so well it is my duty to see life is made easy for her, and safe and clear of bureaucracy, both in the UK and Thailand when I die

Maybe not the question to ask

Sad but the man is irresponsible,
When I am down to my last 100,000batt, I head home to UK and social security, housing , medical, and food
Some people never learn,
Some people come out of prison and soon go back there
UK citizens are given a safety net of social security, but you have to get there
Its a tough world

My understanding is that where a person is living determines if the pension is frozen, not where the monies are deposited.
As for uprating the triple lock is still in place therefore a minimum of 2.5%
Be very careful, it is where you live that matters not where the account sits
Penalties can be severe, if you have had a good run, come clean tell them you eill be here from say next month

Generally pretty simple, those who have problems with their Thai girl friends, are the same ones that have problems with girlfriends regardless of nationality

SLOW DOWN BEFORE GOING FROM FRYING PAN TO FIRE
Some observations, we have maid 6 days a week, and pay 300Batt a day (8Hrs), and she is happy with money Issan
1000 for two hours work very generous, two hrs massage for me and 1000 batt gets very good results! !
So she has been with you six yrs maybe talk to her and see if it can be stopped, she will not easily get 1000 for two hours
Maybe better the one you know, than do not know, she will hopefully be more wary
I also believe we have a duty not to place temptation, in front of people, like cash for people with little or even lots of money
In future limit your loss by what you leave available !!

I have had both types of extension, and yes retirement is quicker and easier, I have just renewed marriage extension at KhonKaen
I choose marriage extension, because I believe the immigration rules here in Thailand could change at any time
I believe the marriage extension is safer than the retirement, and less likely to be changed, and even if changed;if you already have; you will probably be grandfathered into the new one, on existing terms, it also demonstrates a greater commitment than a retirement extension
I personally feel we are very much tolerated, rather than wanted, by the nation as a whole
In the majority of the rest of the world if married we would have far greater rights than we are granted here in Thailand
There are also totally separate rules for women married to Thai men , which many say is discrimination

Which offices follow the rules
Which rules is more the question
I have yet to see a definitive list of exactly what is required, if immigration produced one it would make both the offices and the customers life so much easier
Page one is the list and you tick off each item, if you do not have them old OK no extension, but at least we are not bobby trapped at the end, which has happened to me many times. despite being very careful to see I have everything correctly completed

Remember we live in Thailand, and most as is the case with myself choose to be here
We all know the rules appear to vary from time to time
I did the income route this year and it backfired because I only showed 37, 000 per month, currently I am awaiting new letter from embassy as I have another pension I did not include
I consider I was very stupid not to have remained with the 400,000 in a bank account in my sole name for two months, IT is the simplest way
Next year I will take from my wife's accounts 400,000 and put it in an account in my name, after extension approved transfer back to wife's name, ( all monies in my wife's accounts come from me)

This is thailand, remember, I have dual USA/UK and both these countries say very strongly you MUST enter on the countries own passport if you have one
Of course coming to Thailand you need to depart on the same as you arrive
IF and only if you have two passports and the same rules apply as in the UK or USA, then you would have to use the thai passport to enter Thailand

I filled the form last week
Parents -deceased
frequented places- immigration tesco and big C
social media-none
Uk address none
Contact thailand wife
Foreign contact thailand -none
I doubt if it is read, the wasted paper is awful

With my own problems on marriage extension, even though the mistake was mine, I thought Embassy letter needed to be in excess of 400,000, not in excess of 40,000 by 12 ie 480,000batt, I would in future only do cash in bank in Thailand
I consider I was stupid to try the income route when with my wife and I we have plenty of spare cash, but in the wrong accounts
I keep emergency fund and spare cash in my wife's name, just in case I drop dead quickly ! 1q 1

Sorry to hear that. The same happened in Turkey when I used a Bank Cheque issued in Australia; it took 5 WEEKS to 'process' and cost me £500 in lost interest, charges and fees. Cheque had to be returned to Oz bank for 'certification', then to Turkish bank in Istanbul before reaching my branch in Dalaman.
Thus my claim "Banks are pr*icks".
Take the money and run; just remember to fill in a customs clearance form in country of origin, and make a photocopy...KEEP the orib
Very interesting and terrible
I have an interesting calculation, £500 for five weeks is equivalent of £5200 per annum
You are likely to earn less than 2% PA at very best
So the capital must have been in excess of £260,000, maybe even £520,000
Moving money globally by cheque is the wrong way to do it

I also have a BKK account- are you aware that they charge a fee of 2% of the cash in your Sterling account?
So far I have never been charged by BBL for keeping money sterling there

I am in the middle of an altercation with KhonKaen immigration, all I can say all the people in the office want to help
I used Embassy letter this year previous 6 yrs used 400,000 in bank, if on embassy letter needs to be 40,000 per month or 480,000 so I am told, but no Bangkok certification required, my embassy letter only showed 440,000 batt, I am in the process of getting second pension added
(Removed)
Immigration despite all the information being on the computer, want bundles of paper each year same as last year, consuming mountains of trees VERY SAD, and burdomson on the Thai staff

I am not quite sure what is happening on this thread, if i try to enter one way am blocked out by Thai govt green rectangle on whole page
Let me continue I criticise no one and respect the wishes of the thai government
I went to KK immigration this afternoon, there appears to be confusion there
I suggested as recommended on this thread, i reapply for embassy confirmation of pension, which will give pension of £41,000, i showed the letter to immigration sent ems this morning
Immigration seemed a little unrested especially when I said if necessary I would drive to Korat where our applications are approved with final approval
there were many different views by the people working in the immigration office
I made the comment if they had different views how were we to know right and wrong
I did say can we all see the immigration written rules so we may comply, but this lead up a dead end alley
I will report more when my embassy replies to me

It would appear the thread I started last night, MARRIAGE VISA EXTENSION **************************** , has suffered the green sticker being put on it
The thread related to problems on marriage visa renewal, due to lack of knowledge
There were no negative comments on the government or immigration department
There were no references to any Family or individual
It was about sharing information on what we have to do to satisfy the immigration departments, when applying for extensions, and had valuable information in there

I have bought online from eBay in Hong kong, Ali express and Alibaba in China , they all give guarantees and refunds in event of non delivery
Paypal also gives same protection
UK credit cards will give some protection as well
Generally shopping on line is a lifesaver if living in Issan
