For the retirement I use ICBC. That is 4.000THB more on interest p.a. than Bangkok Bank.

The local village loanshark in my girlfriends village in Buriram just finished building a brand new 2 story house. I was up there last week playing snooker at his house in the lower level snooker room.
just about everyone in her village has or is currently borrowing money.
My gfs cousin borrowed 10,000 to, yes buy a iPhone and hasn’t paid any back in 6 months. She now owes him like 35-40k and she makes 9k a month workingThe maximum interest rate for loans in Thailand is 15%. Contracts citing a higher interest rate are by law automatically void. If you cannot calculate interest, just use this tool: https://vindeep.com/Calculators/emi-interest-rate-calculator.aspx
But I assume, that even the use of this calculator is too much to ask for.

The beer with the most recent filling date is probably the best. Beer, which has been stored for a month at 30 plus Celsius, is just dead and undrinkable.

Fabulous beaches ..where? .......I've seen better, cleaner beaches in south west UK than Thailand..

As for over rated Thai restaurant food, that has too much sugar and salt added , cooked in the cheapest oil, in very un hygienic conditions
Besides 80% of the oranges sold in Thailand are not suitable for human consumption due to the extensive use of pesticides/herbicides, 64% of the vegetable sold as well, 80% of the sausages contain unhealthy amounts of nitrates, not to mention the amount of antibiotics in chicken meat. Bon appétit!

Some of my mail, including a bank card and a package got lost during the last two years. If you want to make sure international mail arrives, send it registered with tracking. That is safe.

I think the small ( 14 or15" ) wheel size make these types of bike to unstable for touring.
I'm sure others will disagree.
It is a proven fact, that a motorcycle with i.e. 17 inch wheels has a substantial higher gyroscopic force, than a scooter with 14 inch wheels. Therefore a real motorcycle is way more stable especially in critical conditions. Besides you want to look at a motorcycle with a seat which is comfortable for two persons, preferably with no elevated exhaust, which will prevent you from installing saddle bags on one or both sides of the bike. The W850 Kawasaki and the Triumph Bonneville are bikes to look out for, just to name two.

Don't you know it?? It puts American and journalists from all over the world at risk, as they cannot reveal the the truth about criminal acts of governments, without being haunted and incarcerated. There goes the right of information, free speech and publishing.

Which one of these vaccines can be taken by people above 65 years without being endangered by side effects resulting in not feeling well, or even death?

One has to assume you have never had any involvement with HEPA filters or the costs involved.
They are only suitable for a relatively clean environment and continual replacement would probably put the companies out of business.
Malls etc do not have the long term close proximity that exists in aircraft.
When LIDL can, local super markets can do too!

Absolutely right!! This kind of ineptitude is a national disease. They condemn corruption, but they don't stop it.They collect debris out of the Chao Praya river, instead of killing the source of it, i.e.ban the production of the millions of single-use polypropylene containers, being used for Scha-jen and other drinks daily. They bemoan the loss of around 60 men and women every day on the streets, but the government does not do anything to stop this. The complete inability to change anything for the better in this country truly is sickening.

It's not just a case of no helmets and going too fast; it's red light jumping, doing U turns where there are no U turns allowed, constantly cuting off right hand corners and bends, cutting up 4 wheel (and even more wheel) vehicles, riding in the blind spots of other drivers, being generally rude and discourtious to other Drivers, Riders and Pedestrians, who believe it or not think that Pavements are meant for walking and not riding on ! Could go on but it's pissing in the wind.
Don't blame it only on motorcycle riders. They just don't have a crumple zone. Every day you see car drivers changing lanes or overtaking without using the mirrors and the direction indicators, playing, calling on their phones, - perfectly behind tinted windows -, taking big truck style swings before turning and so on. They probably are responsible for a lot of riders deaths in Thailand. It truly is a pain in the butt to see all that, not to mention the helmetless idiots, who only use their mirrors to squeeze out their pimples or trace their lipstick.
The whole scene on Thailand's roads is disgusting and dangerous, as almost nobody cares about rules and regulations or display common sense. The safest way to survive on a motorcycle is to keep the traffic behind it. Then it cannot become dangerous. Whatever shows up in front has to be dealt with extreme caution and oversight.

I wonder if anyone has mentioned to them that the airport will remain empty for at least a year, maybe two or three, and the numbers it saw before are unlikely to return. It's because there's a pandemic on - I read about it on the internet - and far less people will have the spare money to travel.
But for the amount of kickbacks expected, this is a very profitable project - for government officials.

That equates to 400,000,000 baht which is about 4 times the amount of skipped hospital bills by tourists. If the charge anymore than 10 baht, they are just lining their own pockets, giving themselves exorbitant increases in benefits.
Everybody knows, that there is limited time only for the senior officials to line their pockets, as one day - sooner or later - they will have to give up their power. Until then every chance to replenish their local and /or foreign accounts is being welcomed, either with direct scams or kickbacks from big projects.

Why does the government not make it mandatory to have HEPA filters in all air condition system installed, be it the big malls, like TESCO or the 7/11 stores, hotels or others?? Efficient measures to contain the virus are deliberately ignored!
Excerpt from the NASA research "Submicron and Nanoparticulate Matter Removal by HEPA-Rated Media Filters and Packed Beds of Granular Materials"
Both HEPA media filters and packed beds of granular material, such as activated carbon, which are both commonly employed for cabin atmosphere purification purposes, are found to have efficacy for removing nanoparticulate contaminants from the cabin atmosphere. When used alone, HEPA-rated media provides superior performance for removing virtually 100% of particulates. However, using these methods in an appropriately combined configuration for removing particulates and gaseous contaminants, consisting of a media filtration component upstream of a packed adsorbent bed component, provides the most effective performance for a broad range of particle sizes including nanoparticulates.

Looks like some posters are not familiar at all with the Assange cause. In case of his conviction, no journalist would be safe, when publishing the wrongdoing of a government. Besides Assange informed the New York Times and the Guardian of the war crimes and also asked to handle this information sensitively. Both papers never ever had been charged with the publishing of those crimes. From the very beginning it was a man hunt by the U.S.aiming to kill free journalism.
