I think that Ciao at the Marriott is a very nice place for a romantic dinner. It's located directly at the beach, nice ambience, and the food is really not bad - but bear in mind that the whole place is outdoors - no aircon area - so at times it could become a little warm when there is no breeze from the sea.
What about the italian restaurants at the Hyatt, Anantara & Intercontinental?
Sorry, can't help - never been to any of the restaurants.

Good grief. Does anyone really believe this? Girls with functioning brain cells don't think like this. If you guys have daughters, do your daughters think like this? I don't think so. Show this thread to your teenager and get an opinion. I guarantee your kids will be a lot quicker on the uptake. phooie.
You took the words right out of my mouth...

There is a point for 'unsportsmanlike behaviour' because it was quite clear what Turner's intention was - but I voted for 'fair goal' because technically it was.

You definitely deserve a greenie for this one.

The one on Suk 33 is not run by Novotel anymore. It's now call Bangkok Lotus.

Very clever. 1 vote up from me.

What a tragedy. This is so unbelievably sad.
"Tears in Heaven' by Clapton comes to mind. My condolences to the family.

So where is the 'Asoke' station?

Thanks for the link, I was going to check Numchai.
Saved myself a trip now.
Found out that HAIER also have a table top model - should be a lot cheaper.

Not exactly sure what you are looking for - but check out the Marriot Courtyard in Cha Am. Reasonably priced and from what friends tell me they have a very good kiddy club.
-
^from a chain store (PowerBuy? Robinson?) or just some local shop in the area?
This looks very much like the one we have - only the price is not what I remember

Sorry, just some local shop.
-
^where did you get it from CNF?
And are they any good?
In Cha Am - small shop past the traffic light on the left hand side as you drive back to Bkk.
Bought it 4 or 5 years ago, never had a problem. Fell off the washing machine once, the housing a bit dented but still works like a charm. Noothing heavy duty but more than adequate for our weekend stays.

I doubt that the lack of an oven will affect your resale value as most flats here, and houses even, don't have an oven, not even new build.
My flat here does have an oven and it is used a lot whereas a dishwasher would not be used. I consider a clothes washing machine to be more important myself.
Having said that I am having a single drawer dishwasher put into a flat in Ha Noi http://www.fisherpay...9A2C88537805167 this type is ideal for small kitchens and their website gives their local agent as Power Buy, Pinklao in Bangkok.
In Seoul I have also seen mini dishwashers that sit on the kitchen worktop and are ideal for small numbers of dishes but have not seen anything similar here.
We bought one of these mini dishwashers (SIEMENS) for our beach condo a few years ago in Cha Am. Think it was THB 10,000 or so. Sits outside on top of the washing machine. Don't want to miss it.

I'm with Woody Allen on this one:
I'm not afraid of dying - I just don't want to be there when it happens.

No argument there - that is one hot little number:wub:

The title is 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' - great book - but sorry that I can't help you any further as I am not familiar with Phuket town.

Does anybody know where this new location on Sukhumvit is? Thanks.
I don't think that's a retail location - only a kitchen for the purposes of providing delivery services.
Thanks. Will use ChefsXP - Nonthaburi is just way too far to go for a burger - no matter how good.
-
Thanks! But where is the place? I love to take my family once in one year and not every week. We have to watch our weight.
Mark just got a new location on Suk. Order at chefsXP.com and it will come to your door. I love their BBQ and it makes living here even better. Thanks Mark for listening to your customers.
Does anybody know where this new location on Sukhumvit is? Thanks.

I believe johnsnapo's reference to great football refers to their entire tournament rather than just the final. But Spain drove me insane at times trying to walk the ball into the net. As extra time wore on the spectre of penalties loomed large. Thankfully salvation was at hand with less than 5 minutes to go.
It will not go down as one of the great finals rather one of the poorest.
Can anyone think of a great World Cup final?.......and please don't mention '66 unless you're approaching that age at least....
Only 1970 comes to mind - Brazil taking Italy apart.

The Villa at Suk 33.
Thanks.
OK, got it.
The wife will follow up with Villa.
Thanks again.
My says that store stopped ordering our Amatriciana because it was moving "fast enough".
Villa Thong Lor still carries it as does certain Tops stores with high farang customer base (not sure which store near you might that be).
Failing that, you can order from us directly. but min. is one case (12x).
Thanks, Chef, will check at Villa Thonglor.
