  1. Israel will not use their nuclear weapons. They know that in doing so a whole host of other nuclear weapons would be simultaneously launched and many countries in that region would be erased from the face of the earth.
  2. The Pattaya Sports Club used to have a group of people that bowled on a weekly basis. I believe that it was a bowling league. You can check their website to see if the group is still going.
  3. It would be great if the resistance forces had some heavier weapons to shoot down one or more of those Migs.
  4. It's a sad state of affairs when the USA can only come up with these two old geriatrics to lead one of the most powerful nations in the world.
  5. Maybe that is how you met your Thai wife, and that's fine, but I met my Thai wife back in the 80's when she was a graduate student in my home country. I had never been to Thailand until after we married.
  6. Not really. In the world view this is just a minor blip on the radar.
  7. I always check the chit entering my bin cup after it is placed there. It does two things. It lets me keep a running total of my bill and lets the wait staff know I'm checking the bill every time a drink is served.
  8. Younger working expat farangs have been dating and marrying university educated middle class Thai women since the 80's and probably before.
  9. Oops wrong office. I meant the passport division of the Dept. of Consular Affairs within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Thanks for the reminder!
  10. I watched it too. It was a good video. I wonder what the other doggie cafe is like?
  11. Every immigration office is different and gives different advice on these matters. I have had my kids renew their Thai passports and ID cards both in Thailand and abroad and always got contradicting information. Their Thai mother passed away when they were teenagers so I've been through this when they were under the age of 20. I did have their mother's paperwork such as a Thai death certificate and her last ID card as well as her old (and now expired) passport to help facilitate the various immigration officers. Good luck!
  12. When my Thai wife passed away, our house in Bangkok and others elsewhere were then transferred to our oldest luk krung son who had just turned 20 and has Thai citizenship. It was fairly easy to do.
  13. Yes, I read it. It was a fairly good read about someone who had his supporters and detractors.
  14. Drunk Russian tourist causing havoc meets Thai police with taser. Taser 1 Drunk Russian 0
  15. Just some random, and randy, soldier thinking, "I wish I was over there with my new found teerak instead of slogging around Gaza".
  16. Until the Thais decide that they are no longer needed because, "we got this". It may be 2024 but some people in the government that oversee such projects are still stuck in the 1950's.
  17. This is not a good idea on so many fronts. These nuclear plants need a lot of maintenance, safety checks, and constant monitoring. Are the Thais willing to commit to this? I am not so sure. I feel that the next thing we will hear is "Thailand's first nuclear clean up" after a meltdown.
  18. Bangkok, as well as the rest of Thailand, was quite a different place back in the 80's when I first arrived and on into the 90's. I liked Trink's column, Postbag, Crutchly's column, and a few others. Today so much has changed and the city is very different.
  19. Thailand should stop all aid to the Myanmar government as that regime continues to oppress commit criminal acts upon the citizens of that country.
  20. That so many women thought that what she did to her husband and his gik was a good thing speaks volumes about Thai culture and values.
  21. You do sound very well versed in ordering parts for a Chevrolet and what is available and also in where to have them serviced and repaired. I guess you kind of need to be if you are driving around a Chevrolet and/or other US engineered cars. I'll just stick with Hondas and Toyotas. A much better line of automobiles.
  22. Well had this American hit a Thai family instead of a British family you can bet that this whole matter would have been handled a whole lot differently.
  23. Fine her the 40,000 baht and have her visa revoked. Then she can immediately returned to Russia. A blacklisting of five years wouldn't be a bad idea either.
