If you're an audiophile or just appreciate great sound quality, the reviews on http://www.head-fi.org/ are quite helpful. That site guided me towards my Yahama in ear monitors and I am quite pleased

Replying to the comment about taking note of license plate... Ha ha ha

Article mentioned their request to climb was denied. Didn't know that pilot request like that could be denied? Similar to pilot decision to abort a landing in that pilot gets to make the call?

Met my wife on a flight from Bangkok to Singapore, where she was headed to visit some senior citizens who she became friends with as a tour guide.
Neither of us were looking, but that's probably why it is working out after all these years.
Good luck in your search.

Exactly the same problems for me with 3bb over the past week or so. I also have same problem with true adsl now, which leads me to believe there is a temporary international routing issue, rather than a 3bb problem.

GoTrusted.com works well for me. 5 bucks per month and can be set up on your smartphone too.

This is one of the main reasons I don't do it.Flying your own country flag is an excellent way to call attention to your house as a choice target when burglars are casing the neighborhood.

What will happen when I meet my maker?
He'll say, " are you doing here? I don't exist!" No, wait! He'll say, " am I doing here?"
Oh, this is very confusing. I have a headache.
Meanwhile, Mrs. T will say, "Finally! I've been waiting ages. Did you have to be THAT much healthier than me?? And don't think I don't know what you'd been up to while I'd been gone!"
"But...but, darling, your grammar and punctuation are impeccable. I'm impressed, and perplexed."
How do I know about the punctuation? Because, silly, people in the afterlife communicate in thought bubbles.

Dude, I'll have what you're having.

Obviously a slow day, but I was thinking what happens to my Thai wife once I kick the bucket. How long can she survive, and then what happens to her. I am starting to think I have been selfish and thinking mostly about how easy it is for me to live and retire here. I am now seriously thinking we should move back to Oz, where even if she ends up on minimum wages/dole she will still be far better off than she would ever be in Thailand. What do some of you think, considering some of you also have kids, how long would your saving last, then what. Some may have businesses but can your Thai family run them without you.
I have a Thai wife and kids. Presently, my savings would not last long, so I have a cash life insurance policy that I plan to maintain until I manage to save what should be enough for the family to survive comfortably without me. At that point, paying premiums for the policy is kind longer necessary.
Now, let's see how many posts it takes until some miserable TV person comes along and makes a comment about my wife killing me for the cash payout.

I swear by red wine daily.
Reduced my cholesterol 35 points not long ago (no other changes to diet)

Yep, been there, the other aspect to this that i get a lot in the Uk is the stares and looks of disapproval, as though i was with a woman much too young !
I get the "dirty old man" looks. The wife is actually 12 years younger than me, she's 43, but looks much younger, like most Thai / Asian women they dont show their age in the same way most western women do. I put it down to jealousy !
I'm in a minority as far as I know, I would like to hear of anyone else in my situation...she's older than me!..rare?..perhaps, it's a 6 month age gap anyway, not older by much. Then 6 months of the year we are the same age again. Currently, it's the same age until December.
My Thai wife is 5 years older than me (she's 46). Works for me!

I am confused by the fact that OP plans to move to 'Thailand/Cambodia, " which are obviously two different countries with two rather different cultures and mindsets.
So, which country are you actually planning to move to?

I've gone to view this show in years past, and normally, everyone just parks on the elevated tollway, and watches from there opposite the airport, having tailgate parties, etc... The police normally close down two lanes, BUT, this year, with all impending shutdown, who knows how bad the traffic, police etc., will be and whether they will allow that?
That's very helpful. Thanks.
Do you know what time it usually starts?
Don't remember the time it starts, but the last year I saw it, it was a fantastic show because they had the US Navy Blue Angels here for a special joint show with the RTAF.
Cool! Guess we won't be so lucky this year but the kid would still enjoy just the same.

In situations where there is a discount for locals, I have found they usually honor it if you have Thai license.

I am here now and I must say that it seems organized, considering the sudden shift without much planning available.
Lot of people here, which makes it feel more chaotic than it really is.
Tip: Arrive about an hour before 10:30 opening in order to get queue ticket. It helped get me in and out quickly after they opened.
Tip 2: Taking a native Thai speaker with you makes the experience relatively stress-free.

By the way, don't they have any native English speaking editors at The Nation?

Oops... I realize now those shot were probably from opposing parties, not army or police; hence no rubber bullets.

Meant to say "I too am fascinated by this," but edit button does not seem to work.

Yes, I live near there. It used to be a beer garden that was kind of cool, but now it is closed again.
It's apparently an old 747 from the Thai Royal Air Force. You can find it on Rahmkhamhaeng Road.
If heading away from Sukhumvit (northeast), it is a few kilometers down the road on the left side. There are no wings... Only fuselage.
I too fascinated by this.
Good luck.

Armed and drunk... I get it.
But what gets me is that the police did not shoot to kill this dude.
Slightly different than price brutality in USA.
