  1. Looks like he had black, white, and mostly green wires. ???? Nicely routed.
  2. Don't see the incoming mains but I guess it's there somewhere, yah?
  3. Just a thought... When you get the pump running on FROG control, try taking the L,N output to the pump from your "smart box" to the L,N in the FROG control (replacing the mains incomer). Forget about the capacitor in the smart box.
  4. I took a photo of my FROG control where the pump wires come in. Looks like L is brown, N blue, and can't see capacitor wire but it would be whatever is left (maybe red). Hook it up like that and your pump will work. Don't worry about the capacitor. FROG will have it hooked up the way they want it.
  5. Did you change the wiring in the control box? All you should need to do is connect the incoming L,N,E to the connectors for that and connect the pump wires to the connector block for that. The brown wire is for the capacitor.
  6. Pretty sure blue is N and black is L in the control box (NOT as labeled above). My recall is that the pump wires are black for L, grey for neutral, brown for capacitor and yellow-green for earth.
  7. These pumps are resilient so I don't think you blew it up. How did you measure 220V across the windings? Make sure you have 220V between L and N on the incomer.
  8. Make sure you didn't trip anything. ????
  9. The 4 wires to the pump are L,N,E,Capacitor. I wonder why it only shows the capacitor connected?
  10. I've found something handy to have for a lot of things is the hot glue gun used by hobbyists.
  11. I don't know, but that looks horizontal to me. ????
  12. The only stick sold locally is what they label "RB-26". Does the job but inconsistent in burning. Easily flares out and punches a hole and then can be "normal" for a while.
  13. Can't offer a reason against cable trays but don't see any particular benefit for them. If you have junctions, you will still need a box. What maintenance issues would be alleviated by trays versus conduit? Just wondering.
  14. Other than fuses, I don't think I have ever seen a wire melt from over-current (that is not a short). Not saying that doesn't happen, just not in my experience.
  15. Hammer drill for concrete, not for steel. ????
  16. These beauties from Lazada (China) might be the best drill set I have ever owned. Until the edge loses sharp (like from using on concrete) they will cut through steel like butter. Unfortunately, sometimes it ships from China so have to wait a bit.
  17. Sounds like a drill issue to me. If using dry wall, it seems like there wouldn't be much to deal with. So, you are getting a hole through the dry wall and then hitting something else? Can you use a flashlight and small screwdriver to determine the substance.
  18. I know this is not the answer you were looking for... But, why not give your dog 5 minutes of your time and attention and just hose him down.
  19. If it is hard to pull (I push) then your conduit is too small or you're not using single wires. Just sayin.
  20. I just got some Hako receptacles and didn't know they were the push type until I opened. But, the wire just needs to be pushed in until it can't be tugged out. A flat blade screwdriver into the release and they easily pull out. So there. ????
  21. Is the pump running a long time before shutting down? They self shut down when they get hot. Usually that is from a dry tank. That is almost always from a leak somewhere. If the frequency is short, that could be what makes the pump get hot.
  22. Usually the local construction supply will have wood to make forms. Not pretty, not very straight but usually good enough for that.
  23. Only if you have breakers to spare. In the kitchen, I have two circuits for diversity of appliances. I do have the built in oven on it's own circuit and an electric hob should probably have it's own also.
  24. Moo Baans had strange (to me) requirements 25-30 years ago. So, maybe just that. The main breaker just needs to be big enough for maximum draw but is rarely needed to protect anything.
  25. That's where it helps (is required) to keep an eye on things. A shower unit got installed while we were out. Got back and when I checked, the holder for the shower sprayer was all the way to the top and pointed at my neck. One of several rework jobs I needed to take on. ????
