  1. Immigration at Laksi is efficient and fast. No appointment needed.  TM7 (Application for Extension of Temporary Stay in the Kingdom), STM2 (Acknowlegement of Terms and Conditions for Permit of Temporary Stay) and "Ackowledgement of Penalties for a Visa Overstay" Forms are available on location. All you need is a "recent" picture, a photocopy of your passport main page and one of the page with your entry stamp. Last time I went to Laksi, I was in and out in 25 minutes...

Home Pro have them. Light duty plastic, about same weight as a shower curtain. Not expensive.

I went to the local auto upholsterer & one made up out of vinyl. About THB 500 from memory.

Thanks malt25.  I probably will end up paying a visit to an auto upholsterer too!

Who did you buy the washing machine from ?

I bought mine from Numchai in Pattaya and one of the extras I was offered was a waterproof cover.  Quite common in Thailand since most have their washing machines outside on a balcony or porch

That being said;   most will only cover the front and two sides,  the back is still be exposed

Big C.  Neither was offered, nor available for sale for the matter...  But thank you for the info!

  4. You have a point. But the "experienced airline turanaround specialist" (and he is indeed very good) was hired when the airline was supposed to be privatized. Since, the government of Malaysia has decided not to privatize anymore...

And I wish the "turanaround specialist" good luck to turn MAS around...Trim the fat, cancel unprofitable international routes, reduce unprofitable national services, sort out the staff problems between the Malaysian Malays and Malaysian Chinese, clip the wings of the unions...Planning it all will be easier than doing it!

They had better find an empty airport to park all of these planes as Don Muang is struggling with increasing volume and increase of THAI planes just parked there. Also the domestic terminal there will open soon.

Malyasian Airlines went out and found an experienced airline turanaround specialisit (farang) to turn around their airline but THAI keeps hiring Thais with no airline experience. I don't see the losses ending soon.

  5. And soon, unfortuntely, and even before the wreckage is found, it will be "discovered" that there was not enough fuel on board to allow for a very seriously needed, "longer than expected by the rules" diversion...

Get a grip - aircraft are diverted all over the world and often forced to circle an airport for 20-30 minutes while the ATC sort out a traffic jam. If it's never happened to you en route to BKK, you've led a charmed life.

Do you remember the Ryanair's low-fuel emergency landings in Valencia?

After investigation, the Civil Aviation Accident and Incident Investigation Commission (CIAIAC) confirmed that indeed Ryanair had not breached air safety regulations, but it was noted that the airline operated flights with minimal fuel to save money, this policy leaving none for contingencies...

  6. Those cats are probably contaminating every patch of soil and garden with Toxoplasma Oocysts to infect most warm blooded animals with brain controlling/affecting parasite.

If you had a look at two links you know what you've got to do.Aim up and shut up about it,gotta go have to buy some radiator coolant for my car.

And, in addition to the coolant for your car, you may as well buy some "neutral" paracetamol in powder...mix it with drinking water...

If you do not want to go extreme, cats hate the smell of mothballs (naphtalene).

Forget about amonia and Javel...it attracts them!
