Why must there be? By all accounts, the attacker was wandering around for hours in a confused and aggressive state, and had also attacked other people. We can't know for sure yet, but it does rather sound as if he may have been just attacking people at random.

I don't know about proving it, but all the signs seem to indicate that. As the article says, witnesses and officials (who probably know more about it that we do) both describe it as unprovoked, the full article says the German had also attacked other people and from the following it sounds as if the attacker was perhaps suffering some kind of "episode."

Once again, there are multiple witnesses, there are audio tapes, emails, text messages and video clips (Giuliani) that all tend to indicate the payments were made in furtherance of his campaign. And if the jurors accept that as being the case then it may not be all good - for Trump at least. Though it might well be good for the prosecution.

I think this could well be right. One thing that has me really intrigued is that Hope Hicks is on the prosecution's witness list. Nobody seems to know what she's going to say. Various pundits, including people who worked with her in the Trump administration say she was fiercely loyal to Trump and is unlikely to say anything that might harm him. However if that's the case then you have to wonder why the prosecution plans to call her. Surely you wouldn't call a witness if you know they're not going to say anything that will help you to convict the person you're trying to prosecute? In this regard, it's worth noting that last year, Hicks met for several hours with prosecutors in the Manhattan district attorney's office, according to NBC News. So maybe the prosecution knows something about her testimony that the pundits don't? If that's the case, and she does spill the beans about what she knows, that could turn out to be quite a bombshell.

Yes, we all know that Cohen was guilty of multiple counts. The point you seem to keep missing is that if he was guilty of campaign finance violations for making the payments, then so is the person who instructed him to make the payments. (Hint: it was Trump).

It's already being pointed out to you by myself and at least a couple of others that that is not true. The applicable statute has been quoted and it does not say that the intent related to the underlying crime must be the sole intent, only that the intent must be included. So even if there were several motivations as you posit then so long as one of them was in support of the underlying crime, that is sufficient to fulfill the requirements of the statute.

Violation of election campaign finance laws - the same crime that Michael Cohen was already found guilty of in relation to exactly the same payments. And as various legal analysts have pointed out, if the person making the payments is guilty of a crime, then the person who directed him to make those payments is equally guilty (if not more so). Don't forget, the prosecution has a) audio recordings of Trump instructing Cohen to make the payments (because Cohen recorded some of their conversations for his own protection) and b) statements from Rudy Giuliani that Trump both approved the payments and that they were campaign-related.

Not sure where you're getting that from. The statute that Trump is being charged under (§ 175.10 Falsifying business records in the first degree) was quoted in @jerrymahoney's post above and as stated therein, the prosecution only has to show that the defendant's "intent to defraud includes an intent to commit another crime or to aid or conceal the commission thereof." Nothing there about it being the only intent, just that it has to include the intent.

When a missile is launched, there's no definite way to know immediately, what kind of warhead it's carrying. It's not only intercontinental ballistic missiles that can be nuclear-capable, you know. Cruise missiles for instance (30 of which Iran just launched at Israel) can be armed with nuclear warheads, although of course there's no evidence Iran has nuclear weapons - yet. But if they did, and if they put one on one of their cruise missiles, you wouldn't necessarily know that ahead of time.

There's nothing I can see that shows it wasn't reported earlier. According to @frank83628 in this thread there was a previous discussion on this very forum a couple of days after it happened. It seems to have taken until a couple of days ago for the tabloid press in the UK to pick up on the story but that has nothing to do with whether it was reported at the time.
