  1. Connected !! Red Bull Brat, numerous monks and abbots to name a few. If you have money and are not a political threat to anyone you will be immune from the law so long as you pay the piper.
  2. Thaksin will never get a royal pardon so long as Prayut has a certain person's ear.
  3. I don't think Thaksin's supporters will stand quietly by if he goes to prison. Maybe protests and riots, then of course the military would have a perfect excuse to stage yet another coup and return Prayut to power, to restore law and order ....NOT!!
  4. Lovely story but I am sure I read this story a few years ago.
  5. So presumably the police officer did not fasten his helmet and just let the strap hang loose as they do. Not that that would have protected him from being shot in the face.
  6. I doubt it. They didn't bother to arrest the Red Bull killer when he killed a police officer.
  7. In the UK anyone over the age of 16 can get a motorcycle licence ( provisional ) and never take a test or even have ridden a motorcycle previously. It depends on if Thailand accepts provisional licences ( no test or experience required ) as a qualification to ride a motorcycle in Thailand.
  8. Haven't been for years but when I did I walked from the harbour then nipped into the 711 next to the entrance, bought a drink and some snacks then just strolled past the ticket booth. If challenged I just said I am staying at the resort and just came to shop at 711. Never paid for an entrance fee in all that time. The park officials go for the tourists riding on the songtows, so it is easy to slip past them as they are too busy going for the groups.
  9. If the " art show " was entitled " Chaos : Calm " I would have thought the broken buffalo showed the Chaos and the Calm quite perfectly.
  10. I doubt it was intentional vandalism, it sounds like it was just high spirits that went too far. In other words an unfortunate accident, but the offenders should be made to pay for the damages. Thais are definately over re-acting as this statement shows Surprised they haven't got monks there to do the funeral chanting.

  12. The British police will get no cooperation from the Thai police. The Koh Tao murders proved us that. The Thai authorities would not allow the British Police to reveal their findings from their investigation which were strictly controlled by the Thai police.
  13. Suspicious backpack? Bullsh** !!! It was probably because the police were tipped off he was flashing a gun around trying to look big. Most crimes are only solved because of police tip offs, not because of efficient policework
  14. Pipes are colour coded for a reason, Blue for water pipes and drainage is normal for Thailand. It is dangerous because some unsuspecting person could cut into a blue pvc water pipe to make a water connection thinking it did in fact carry water.
  15. " He said that he has had enough of looking after the dogs and would get them another home. " Get them another home where they can kill again? In the UK this dog would have been put down straight away, with or without the owners consent. But this is Thailand where life is cheap and safety is non existent.
