I had reflux for over a year and was given the usual drugs. A year later I changed my doctor and he sent me for a scan - pancreatic cancer. I have had a partial pancreatectomy and splenectomy and am still here 13 years later and no reflux since. I too am 80 in another 2 weeks. PLEASE get scanned.

Do not go to that very big, well advertised, touristy hospital whose name I cannot mention here. I had a dreadful rip-off experience there with a neurologist. Message me and I can supply more details.

It is my understanding that the wife in Thailand is in charge of domestic finances. I was told that by an elderly couple at a roadside stall up country when I was paying for a watermelon.

An Aussie "friend" of many years asked me to invest $250,000 - at the time 7,500,000 baht in a resort in the north of Thailand. I was a director of the company and a 24.5% shareholder. I had a share certificate showing that but my {no longer friend] had paid the accountant to give me false documents. YES you can buy anything. This is a long story cut short.

It seems that the people who reacted to my comment [above], that they believe I am suggesting is is debatable that Hitler and Putin were bad men. I was being sarcastic and satirical and firmly believe that both men are as evil as one could possible be.

Why do these people always want to make it sound so dramatic as if there has never been very heavy rain in the rainy season before? Attention seeking are they or just jumping on the official narrative?
Climate change didn't begin in 2011. 2010 was also a climate change event.

Climate-change is real enough (just how much of it is down to us humans is debatable) but I don't think we can really put yesterday's bit of cloud down to it 100%.
Yeah and it is debatable that Hitler [or Putin] was a good man.

Pathetic isnt it? Police determined it was a tragic accident.
Of course they did, anything else would mean the lazy sods would have to do some work.

For goodness sake don't let the Australian PM Morrison know about this trick. He is a master at not answering questions from journalists.

Don't let your Murdoch derangement syndrome get in the way of sensible comment. Last time I looked, channels 9,7,10,ABC,SBS, the Fairfax news, Guardian, govt sites, emergency service sites, charities, domestic violence sites, etc, etc, had nothing to do with Newscorp or Murdoch.
I think Murdoch's news comes from where it has been suggested he shove it in the first place.

But in this case I think FB is in the right.
FB sends billions of free traffic to their newsites (traffic costs a LOT of money online to get too).
If the old guard an't figure out how to make money online, and with all that free traffic, they deserve to go the way of dinasaur.
Google has other ways to monetize the news content because they are a search intent platform, it benefits them to strike a deal.
FB doesn't owe them a penny for sending them views and buyers to their site. The news sites should be paying FB.
I agree with your first line. However FB and Google have taken so much revenue away from old style media that it has trouble operating. If they disappear do we want to rely on tech giants for our news? Are they going to hire journalists and do the reporting themselves?

Go to the Philippines.40 years ago I visited a mate there and his houseboy told me of his father's difficult life. He was a rice farmer and grew 90 bags twice a year. From each crop he paid 30 bags to the paddy owner and 30 bags to the buffalo owner who plowed for him. Of the other 30 the family ate 15 and they sold 15 for a bit of cash. So I bought the old man a buffalo and dramatically changed the family's fortunes.
Next year I was visiting Bill [since murdered in Manila] and the houseboy took me way up north of Luzon to a little village called Pinukpuk to see the buffalo. Father had bought an old aunt down from the mountains to cook for me because his wife had <deleted> off. Her coffee, grown roasted and ground by her was the best I have ever had.
Had to share a room with her son who had just killed a man with a bolo knife who was trying to steal some of those beans. He had his bolo knife leaning against the wall while we slept. Was worth the trauma for that coffee.

In the Tips and Tricks section I have just read that the common cold can be cured by wrapping ones feet in aluminium foil. This is very obviously absolute nonsense and I feel that a respectable organisation like thaivisa should not allow such items to be published here.
What do other members think about this?

Stop buying Chinese made products. It is the worlds purchase of their goods that gives them the money, thence the power to throw their weight around. China will quickly pull its horns in and behave if we all stop buying.

I broke my gardening fork. Went to the hardware store. First one I picked up was $22 made in China - put it back. Next was $44 and then $46 both made in China - put them back on the rack. Next one was $65 made in Australia - took it to the checkout.

And this is the LIFE in the occupied territories, Mr. Pattongo; Currently 95% of the water is not drinkable, they only have access to 4 hours of electricity a day and the unemployment rate is 45% without the ability to move freely to other areas. The Palestinian State has little chance of survival to defend their land.
I hope that this Lady Prosecutor manages to accuse Israel of war crimes, once and for all.
Accuse AND convict.

it will remain status qou as all Presidents agreed to the One-China policy initiated by Nixon. Even Trump in his 2017 phone call with Xi agreed to the One-China policy. This has big implications to how US will handle the Taiwan issue and the defense agreement with Taiwan.
Who gives a fig for what Trump agreed to. Probably allowed to make a golf course in China if he sided with XI.

Great to see this.
However it is pointless me commenting here as nobody ever reads the important stuff on TV. They should have a pic of a pretty girl or an advert. for cheap beer in the article headline.
