  1. Just to clarify few points: - I did have a letter from my wife. - I was wearing clean clothes, long pants (it seems someone was assuming my appearance could have been the problem.....) - Regarding the finance: I was short of maybe 50k thb and only because I was working offshore India and internet was crap, not allowing me to transfer money to Thailand on time.... I am not asking to bend the rules or circumvent any, i am just trying to share my experience of IO creating or adding new rules on the last minute..... By the way, using an agent and preaching that you don't support bribes.... what a f@@@ng joke!!!
  2. Either you are mentally challenged or you can't read a post before posting.... or both. Your comment is out of place. We are not all working in an office from monday to friday, 9 to 5, with a clear planning for month ahead. I am following the rules, by the book but the book adjusted with non written rules by IO.
  3. It looks like I have to pay a new visit to Savannakhet then! ????
  4. Hi All, Due to my job and the frequent travel abroad, the 1 year visa has always been the best option for me. I just wanted to share with you my 2 last attempt to get a 1 year Non - O ME visa (Thai Spouse) in Vietnam. My first attempt was in March in HCMC. I started by sending them an email explaining what type of visa I was looking for. I wanted more explanation regarding the financial proof they expected. ( New to me as Pre Covid, they were asking for none) They said that only a 3 month bank statement and another letter from the bank showing 20k Thb were enough.... I went there, first thing the employee checked was my bank statement (Just below 400k thb) and he told me that it was not enough for a ME visa as I needed at least 40k thb / month or 400k thb in my account. ( No mention of it on their website nor in their email....) I ended up going back home with a 3 month Non - O visa...... Failed. Second attempt was in June and this time I went to Hanoi. Same thing, I send them an email and they were a lot more clear in their requirement. It made me feels confident that this time would be the good one.... 4 days after dropping all my documents, I went back to the embassy to get my passport, I was only given a 3 month visa..... again. The reason this time was: "We only deliver ME visa for people working in Vietnam...." Despite the fact that they gave me back the change, 120$, I barely managed to keep calm! I left one more time Vietnam with a 3 month visa.... Failed. I just applied for a 1 year extension on this second visa but unfortunately, I will have to leave the country before the end of the 1 month probation.... Not sure where I will go next time to apply for a new visa.... I hope my feedback can help people to prepare their trip to these embassy.
  5. At least 2 reasons why the situation won't change in Phuket unless ...... no nothing.... - Most of these "private Limousine" drivers ( as they like to refer to themselves) are natives from Phuket, their families are also from Phuket and all of them are well connected with local authorities. As soon as Thai people start complaining about them on social media, tenth of them are showing up online to defend the corporation. - The union for Tuk Tuk and taxi drivers in Phuket is very powerful. Monthly fees can be as high as 10k Thb and there are several thousand of members all over the island. You can only imagine that with this kind of cash, any kind of problems are fading away rather quickly. Very sad indeed, but the best option in Phuket is to drive your own car or bike..... hence the traffic....
  6. Always funny the the comments regarding Tmax and maxi scooter from people whom never tried or own one but hate it. You can't just compare it to a big bike, not the same use or philosophy. Nobody is comparing a 911 and a Cayenne, both are excellent but so different. Is it too expensive? Sure it is! But they are selling it like hot cake so why wouldn't they... I am also waiting to see if Honda will sell the Forza 750 in Thailand, the price would more be attractive and I like the concept. The new Xadv 750 is also very interesting but I am not a big fan of the off road look.
  7. It will last at least 8 weeks so 60 days would be over by the time I come back. I guess I will have to go for a 60 days extension this time and then for my next return to Thailand, I will use the visa exemption and 60 days extension till I can get a proper Non O. The last thing I want is not being able to leave Thailand if I have to go back to work during the consideration period of a 1 year extension.
  8. Sorry for not being specific, yes it is based on marriage. I have already an extension reaching its end in 2 weeks.
  9. Good day all, I am going apply for a 1 year extension of stay soon. I will most probably have to leave Thailand (work duties) within the first month. Does anybody already been in this situation? Any option to get the 1 year extension faster? Thanks, Tom PS: I miss the 1 year NON O multi entry..... ????
  10. Thank you Ubonjoe for the answer, clear as always. I guess I will have to apply for a new visa then. Too bad the 1 year multiple entry are not available in Paris RTE.
  11. Hi all, I am now in Europe and plan to come back to Phuket, where I live, using the Sandbox program. I am holding for the first time a 1 year extension of my Non O visa (Thai Wife) with a re-entry permit. It is expiring on November 6th. If I am landing in Thailand on November 1st, will I have 90 days like with a regular Non O visa multiple entry? Thank you Tom
