  1. , If he had turkey or roast beef sandwiches, and Kasem's French bread, I might not beef so much :o

By the way, any suggestions for a great Roast Beef sandwich?

And how about some Peking Duck?

Turkey and Roast beef Sandwiches thats what they should turn the burritto house into at Novotel rimping.

Real deli sandwiches and good sliced meats and cheeses which are available in Bangkok but not so avail here!-R

  2. 60 k reasonable for most people. Are you talking about one person or a family ? I wold be interested to know becaue I am still trying to weigh up our options for a family of four ,two adults and two children. I realise tthe education costs , but would 60 k be enough not counting school fees and rent ? If we did make the move would rent first but then buy later on.

    Thanks

We have A family of 3 and a baby on the way. our 3 year old goes to a thai school

which runs about 30k baht a year. yet schools like houses there are so many choices it depends on your budget!!-R :o

  3. I also am on a fixed monthly revenue we own our home eat out almost 5-6 days a week. Have Ubc and all the neccesitys and our budget is 40k a month but we do it on 60k and love it! that includes pretty much doing or buying anything we want Food Dvd's Nicnaks etc- Go for it- but rent first as everyone has posted-

    and welcome!!-R :o

  5. I ate at Filmore East last nite and had the large filet and i tell you it was the best ###### steak i have eaten in thailand. I highly reccomend it, but its not cheap I think almost 1k baht- but boy was it worth it . Ron the owner runs a Proffesional operation. High marks to him!!!-R

  6. Does anyone know where to buy this item:http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F003%5F007%5F000%5F000&product%5Fid=15%2D1950

  7. Wow so mant great places to eat in Chiangmai. I love to eat!! I love Chanchaos reviews and after meeting all at Mango Tree I got lots of good info!! I forgot who told me but they had said that a New Buritto house opened at Rimping novotel.

Well Since I am addicted to Mexican food I was there next day here are my Impressions- :o

had a 49 baht taco and a 49 baht enchilada.not to impressed. but the pictures of all the food looked good!! Thats about the best part of it- the visual!!

I think it had 2 Thai owners as i saw them deliver some precooked food. I was really hoping to see a Farang owner as it probably would have been better if they knew the food

-as Thailand is a tad far from Mexico

My Estimate is 6 months until its closed.

Maybe i can buy the pretty pictures!!

    I'm still on the hunt!!!-R

  10. I posted my experiences with the two-way IPStar system a while back, you can find it here:

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?sh...t=0entry71237

As you can see, it certainly doesn't come with my recommendation!

I can only assume by your nickname that you are in the Doisaket area - I was down at the TT&T office in Kad Suan Kaew just yesterday, and their ADSL coverage map certainly indicates DSL availability in Doisaket, I guess providing you're not too far away from their Doisaket exchange.. 1000 install + 2500 modem + 999/mth, but with the understanding that it may only deliver 40kbps (2mbps link shared by up to 50 users).

As pointed out above, the other alternative is GPRS however it's not broadband, in fact it's ever so slightly slower than the dialup you're using at the moment. AIS have a limited deal for 850/mth, while DTAC are running a promotion of 999/mth unlimited, but I beleive it ends in June or July..

    Excellent Thank you-

I am with TT&T and my browser says i am coneccted at 50.6kpbs Would AsDl be faster? is the 999 a month unlimited online access? I am on 10km to doi saket-

  13. I am curious about preschools or daycare in Chiang Mai. My family and I are scheduled to move to Chiang Mai in May and we will be needing daycare for our three year old. We would certainly like for her to begin learning Thai, but have no idea what might be available and/or recommended. We will be teaching at CMU and will hopefully be living very close to the campus (I'll be posting a request for housing info also).

Any feedback will certainly be appreciated.
