  1. Official figures for most things in Thailand should be taken with a grain of salt.
  2. My understanding is that money sent from Australia to overseas is reported to the ATO. Wise, which i use to transfer money from Australia to Thailand, asked me late last year (on the basis that it was an ATO requirement) whether or not I was an Australian resident for tax purposes. I assume they asked me because I make transfers on a regular basis but not exceeding $2000 at a time.
  3. Most Thais don't pay them and, as others have stated,. no repercussions come road tax time.
  4. I note that they're talking about import duties. The main factor affecting wine prices is the huge excise tax wacked on once it has landed in Thailand. I suspect a 50% reduction in import duty will not not lead to a huge reduction in the price of wine.
  5. I'm thinking about moving to Thailand to live. My income will be solely derived from an Australian superannuation pension once I retire (I'm currently an Australian Government employee). Will my super pension be taxed in Australia even thouigh I will ber a resident of Thailand? Thanks in advance for any advice.
