  1. Their criminals that have entered another country illegally. They should be deported after their fingerprints and images have been recorded. As for the Thai's....jail is the right option.

Not effective and will do nothing to stop the flow. The employers are the culprits. The developers and contractors are fully aware that there are lillegal workers hired. Their bloated profits depend on it. Go after these people. Visit their worksites and check the status of the workers. Fine the employers 100,000 baht per illegal and it will be stopped in no time. Unfortunately, so too will many construction projects, and the developers and contractors will be forced to pay the Thais a living wage.

I agree totally, but this is against what you normally stand for. It is the said government that takes the responsibility for not clamping down on these KNOWN business persons.

Another story of bad governance, corrupt officials turning blind eyes. Provincial government overseeing local construction projects. Again follow the contract money etc.

You see I not normally bash This land known as Thailand as you think--I bash the people responsible for running the job. (whoever is in the wrong)

The importation of foreign workers is a common practice by Thailand business community as the cheaper wages paid to them and not the ungodly, unrealistic wage of 300 baht a day paid to the Thai work force..

The only way to deal with that is high financial penalties and prison time!

This has nothing to do with the sitting government and has long been the corruption practiced by the business community to get around the government's 300 baht per day Thai workers legislated minimum wage!

    Cheers

  2. Women's Voice chairperson Ladawan Wongsriwong, also a Pheu Thai party-list MP candidate, read a statement by the group that said Thailand had seen rights violations, insults and threats to the woman running the country.

But ms. Poo is not ruling the country but ruining

Isn't that the lady who now rallies against ThaiRath because she doesn't like it's cartoonist Chai Ratchawat?http://www.nationmultimedia.com/specials/nationphoto/index.php?pid=15731

    .

Your link doesn't seem to work, but I did find this about her on the same website. Seems Ladawan has her own issues regarding rights violations in Thailand:

Deputy Labour Minister Ladawan Wongsriwong is unqualified to remain in her post for three reasons - the bullying of subordinates, her involvement in the smart-card affair, and the awarding of contracts to cronies.

    http://www.nationmultimedia.com/home/Bully-Ladawan-under-fire-60287.html

A different source highlighted Red Shirt leader Ladawan's other incident of rights violation that you referenced.

    http://www.khaosod.co.th/en/view_newsonline.php?newsid=TVRNMk56UTRNelkyTlE9PQ%3D%3D§ionid%3D

    .

Did you also happen to look up the rights violations of the Protesters leadership, that would pale anything written about this lady! try that sometime!

    Cheers

  3. Unfortunally a lot of cowadly yellow shirt men taking cheap shots at Yingluck being a women in the last few months.

Abhisit with his "stupid woman" remark, Suthep with his threat against Yinglucks son, (No wonder these dinasors cant get elected), doctor in the south saying yingluck should get vaginal surgury, and various posters on this forum in the same category. Says more about the type of people they are then anything about Yingluck though.

    worth repeating

Yingluck's personal Facebook page invited all Thais to promote gender equity for national development

you really need to get out more and actually read newspapers. In Australia the first female pm was totally hopeless and in trying to defend her pathetic attempts at buggering up the country she started using sexism as a defence by calling anyone that opposed her a misogynist(thats a woman hater for those that dont know), the people just laughed at her because they realized she was an idiot, its the same with yl, she is simply too silly and lacks the brain power/knowledge to be a pm. She is simply a puppet for thaksin, everyone apart from all the reds/ptp fan club realize this fact. It has nothing to do with being a woman, she is just too stupid, she just hasnt realized it herself yet but will when it all come crashing down arounf her ears. She avoids meetings that require any thought processes(parliament is the biggie she keeps avoiding) where she might have to actually think for herself and heaven forbid, come up with an unscripted answer, she is simply dumb as dog poo.

PS> I am no yellow shirt and cannot stand them just as I cannot stand the red brigade but that is probably too simplistic for you to understand.

Your clue less rant give credit to Moonao post, men that never got over their mommies issues!

A person blessed with natural Intelligence that have issues about someone professional capabilities and or qualities in fulfilling her roles as PM could point at the specific areas they claim she may be deficient in, the others used the shotgun approach for they are not so blessed!

There are many women on the international stage that have shown great competence in their decision making and abilities to function in what has always been (mans work) such also has been President Obama who has proven the bigots wrong in the ability of a man of color to rule over a predominate white population, no different then what is happening to Yingliuck, by the leftover Neanderthals that still roam the streets of Thailand!

  4. You guys here have to remember that the present constitution was written by the army after to coup and was not changed by abhisit and suthep when they were in power. Which they had all the time to do that but never did as it helped them become richer also.

It seems your memory is really failing you. The Democrats did make some changes to the constitution while they were in power.

Could yo kindly point out the changes the Democrats made in the Constitutions during Abhisit government. this is news to me, I did not know of any changes, one learns something new every day!

Thank you in advance for your helpful, information!

    Cheers

  5. Why is the Senate involved they do not have the authority to do anything until after the election for the Senators, they have no power to do as they petition!

Any government in a Democracy have the power to place trusted people into positions of power in a new administration, this is done all over the world, except in Thailand's ammart controlled court system!

    Cheers

  6. Reported elsewhere that there is another side to that one.

It says that shots were fired from the rear seat of the taxi towards the protesters and someone returned fire.

    The truth ? I don't know.

Again your feeble attempts to defend these defenseless actions by the protest guard.

!. the guards caused the confrontation, by attempting to order citizens to leave a public park!

    2. The guards are not peaceful unarmed protesters.

    3. the article stated when the gunshots started the occupations of the taxi ran, did a gun fire by itself from inside the Taxi.

Could you kindly, advise us to the other source you stated had a different version of the incident!

    Cheers

  7. I agree with only one point you made if you repeat a falsehood often enough you would come to believe it.

Rice has been piling up since the 9 december 2013, when the government could no longer sell it, after the Ammart instigated run on the banks, on protesters doing every thing possible to prolong the farmers suffering.

But the EC is the only agency under the constitution that has the final ok on any loans to pay farmers had refused to do so thinking they had the upper hand and Yingluck would step down and no one in the new government would question their actions, Well it did not work out that way!.

When things look the darkest for Yingluck something always happens to make thing right again, Now greed of the Millers and Exporters will come to her rescue and the farmer will be brought back to the conclusion, that "if" Yingluck and the PTP did anything wrong it was done by trying to improve the condition of Thailand's rice farmers.

The cause for right will prevail!

    Cheers

    Talking from experience?

    November 2013, before the protests:

    http://oryza.com/news/thailand-government-sells-200000-tons-rice-auction

The Thai government sold around 200,000 tons of the 452,000 tons of rice offered in an auction held on November 20, 2013, according to government sources. However, trade sources say 300,000 tons of rice was sold in the auction. Only four bidders participated in the auction and sale prices are expected to be below market prices. - See more at: http://oryza.com/news/thailand-government-sells-200000-tons-rice-auction#sthash.OhPtK35k.dpuf

However, trade sources say 300,000 tons of rice was sold in the auction. Only four bidders participated in the auction and sale prices are expected to be below market prices.

The November 20, 2013 auction was the sixth by the government this year and 300,000 tons of comprised 100% second class Jasmine rice and A1- broken milled rice, and about 152,000 of 5% white rice. Trade sources say the 5% broken rice on offer was probably sold at around 20% below the current market price of around 13,000 baht (about $408) per ton.

In earlier tenders, the government has sold 293,000 tons of the 960,339 tons of rice on offer...

Now tell us again why the EC and the protests are to blame for the government being unable to sell the rice, even at bellow market prices.

Do you not realize what this thread is about, you always are trying to change the topic, to your own personal rant, which I could care less about.

The topic is the price of rice dropping to 8000- 8200 baht a ton, stay on topic and address why rice is selling at that price when there is no over supply or any drop in demand on the international market.

I stated that it was because the Thai millers and exporters are trying to manipulate the price to take advantage of the suffering of the rice farmers, to make a bigger profit for themselves a great big profit, buy it at $250 a ton and sell it for the market price for 5% broken white rice for $458. a ton!

    Cheers

  8. Nope, I think these people should be paid post haste, nothing to discuss

Also if you do not know the numbers surrounding the revenue, you do not supply the percentage of revenue increase during the implementation of the rice scheme, you only have the ability and understanding to enter the discussion with an unbalanced view, as such have nothing more to add to the long list of outpouring by those carrying the same credentials.

I've given you the revenue data for the two families I know - Their income from the sale of their crop last year is ZERO.

On top of which they have added debt arising from income not received.

Your instance that they should be paid is cold comfort and superfluous - they are quite cable of insisting for themselves - Would that the PTP were listening.

I've found my personal donations of money, food and medicines to these two families to be a bit more useful than hollow promises and the pointless indignant insistances of strangers.

Sorry if my input is not convenient to your point of view.

    Good.

let cancel this scheme, and not to introduce any other anymore.

My tax money is better use in Bangkok, than paying these farmers.

Spare us the suspense, Not many Farangs pay taxes in Thailand unless you have a great big business venture!

I Believe the next government should subsidize the rice crop, help the farmer set up Co-ops to mill and store their rice for sale!

    Cheers

  9. I was looking around a car auction today attracted by the large number of Kubota tractors for sale.

Just a couple of years ago these new four wheel machines were appearing everywhere and now it seems the farmers can't pay the finance so they are being snatched back.

Well it will not be from 2.59 million farmers as it is reported on Tvisa, apparently they saw no benefit from the scheme, there you go every cloud has a silver lining!

You do know of course that many bought new tractors that were actually a little too light for intended the work? Not possible they could have traded up and left the smaller versions on the market no? You have also my figures which show the cost of hiring in, it is not economically viable to own a tractor for the small farmer, unless you go into business working for other farmers, even then your revenue may be a little sporadic not to mention seasonal. Most of the small farmer tractor owners I know have interests alongside farming or hire out. Plus the novelty quickly wears off when you spend your days bouncing around in dust and dirt. These are not air conditioned radio installed tractors are they?

Yes,the tractor owners are always willing to do extra jobs for those farmers that do not own tractors, There is a great demand for their services,

Another issue is the price of 15,000 baht per ton as the price every one states, a few in our village received 12,000 baht per ton most received 11,000 baht per ton. The rice scheme allows a person to sell his rice to the scheme for up to 15,000 baht per ton and does not guarantee 15,000 baht per ton which depends on the quality of the rice!

    Cheers

  10. The BAAC has been buying for years, many small farmers do indeed benefit, I have witnessed this first hand, these farmers do not go sell to the millers, the rice is cleaned, dried and stored, when the rice is collected the agreed price is paid, usually months later after the glut is over, this is in the one crop per year area.

I see other farmers who will take their rice from the field direct to the mill, they get the lowest price, I see farmers who clean and dry the rice, then take it to the mill, they gain a better price for obvious reasons, I see those who clean dry and store the rice and sell to the BAAC, they obtain a better price still for reasons that are obvious.

So there are variations in price, but I do not believe even the small farmer would not benefit from the garaunteed rice price for the simple reason he could possibly sell to his neighbour who is in the scheme for a baht below....I have not witnessed this as all the small farmers I know are in the scheme and have dealt with the BAAC for years....maybe there is a reason others have not.

What a load of <deleted>, For a start the BAAC has not been buying anything it is only an agent for the Govt which is supposed to pay into the bank which then pays the farmers.

Harvest is in full swing here now on the central plains and every day I watch the harvesters working and truck loads of rice being taken away, how the hell can any farmer clean, store or anything else that quantity of rice ?

They don't have warehouses or gear to do these jobs. The farmers job is to grow the rice not to process it, once it is harvested it is then passed on to the next person up the chain.

The ignorant trying to influence the gullible, unfortunately for you we are not all that thick.

Farmers often have small storage bins of rice. It needs to be basically threshed and sorted before it is delivered doesn't it? They can't just deliver it straight from the field stalk and all can they.

This used to be done by putting it on the road. They are supposed to do a basic cleaning and keep it and try to get the moisture down a bit. If the weather is good, this can be quite quick, but often they deliver rice at 20%+ moisture.

They get penalised for this. They get penalised for the "cleanliness" of the product.

Watch a rice cutter/combine sometime. It cuts the rice and seperates the grain from the stalk there and then. The grain is then dumped into a hopper on the back of the combine then pumped into a waiting truck when cutting is finished and usually delivered straight to a rice mill.

    You are absolutely correct!

He just tries to spread his B/S all over, by his statements you know he knows nothing about rice farming!

A combine comes out and cuts the rice, separates it and dumps it into waiting trucks all the farmer does is oversee the job, his wife and family make food and refreshments for all.

    Cheers

  11. The farms are too small and disjointed, the production methods unchanged for decades, still using water buffaloes and manual planting and harvesting.

The farms should be modernised and formed into cooperatives to take advantage of machinery costs.

Farmers should be educated via the coop's to change their farming methods, but that is unlikely as the government cannot even stop them from the seasonal burn off threatening the environment.

Lastly, the real problem is greed from the man in Dubai and PTP, they have all gotten rich at the expense of the poor farmer, by attempting to manipulate market forces. Then they buried their heads in the sand and hoped the mess would go away while still pocketing their ill gotten gains.

Until Thailand recognises and deals with entrenched corruption, nothing will change, it will be the rubber farmers or another group next in line.

You have not been any where close to Thai rice farming have you, Still using water buffalo, give me a break!

Most farming famiiies in our area own a new tractor i million baht per tractor, when the farmers came to Bangkok, those are the tractor used in the field, that is why they are hurting for money, to make on lump sum payment per year on the payments for the tractors.at harvest time.

The only problem is the greed of the middle man, there is a market for that rice now! at great prices!

    Cheers

You may be right but tell how many times you eat rice. People today all over the world eat less rice than before.

Rich Asians and Rich people of my color will not be caught dead eating rice that is the problem

You may be surprise at who is placing more rice in their diet, Sub Saharan Africa, USA and the EU.

I eat rice at least once a day, as my natural diet includes a lot of rice and I love Thai food, at least once a day at most three times a day!

  12. PDRC scum have gotten aways with all kinds of criminal activity simple because the power that be on the anti-government side would cover their illegal activity, that type of power corrupts as they now think they can get away with murder.

Go out and arrest that piece of excrement now!

    Cheers

Never happened on the red side of course... bah.gif

When the Redshirts kidnap someone, detain him and torture him over 6 days and then attempt to drown him by tossing him with hands and legs bound into a river, I will have the same sentiment as I do for the accused in this case. Ok?

However, there are no cases to date involving similar circumstances implicating a Redshirt.

    True statement.

Spraying bullets into A Big C car park is more the Red style.

A couple of kids are just collateral damage.

If the kids were from Isaan then they would just be victims of friendly fire do doubt.

    Move on.Nothing to see here

I believe there is one big difference, no one knows who spread gunfire at big C, but there is an eyewitness to the beating and attempted murder and they were yellow peaceful protester that attempted to murder him!

    Cheers.

However, there are no cases to date involving similar circumstances implicating a Redshirt.

The only reason you haven't heard of this before is likely simply because the redshirts are more devious at creating false stories. It is best to remember that there is as of yet no corroborating evidence for this rather fantastical account. Neither the victim nor the accused can be trusted to speak honestly in this situation, and anyone who thinks the police are unbiased is living in fantasy land.

As of right now, any theory is equally likely, and my personal belief is that the redshirts/government are actually quite clever coming up with such a tale. The PDRC is going to need to step up their game if they are going to compete with these guys.

If and when actual verifiable evidence emerges, then I will revisit my opinion on this matter. Until then, everyone would do well to keep in mind that the only thing we have in this case is our own personal biases, and one opinion is as good as the next. It is way too early for anyone to start heaping moral indignation on anyone for this case.

Anyone could have placed those bruises on him, and for the right amount of money I can find you hundreds of people who would willingly submit to receiving them.

Yes I think your right, he beat himself almost to death, then tied himself up, hopped over to the river and jumped in?

I bet you also believe in the Easter bunny!

  14. Why would I want to read the untruths you write, if you stated facts I would gladly read anything you posted but you can not do anything but attempt to insults those who disagree with you! You post did not address the question I asked about why the price of rice has fallen in Thailand.

Or why the Millers and Exporters are trying to manipulate the price paid to the rice farmer, not due to the supply and demand of the international market, can not be justified in any way,

I will respond to your off topic statements which will be the last one I respond to!

One member of your active yellow posters has been to my house, knows where and how I live, one thing for sure I do not spread untruths, as I can see the tractors parked across the street, have ridden on them when the family helps us work on the farm land my wife owns, not farms owns! I do not know what your concept of a Thai rice farming village is, our has one street entering and leaving it, everything that passes through the village passes in front of my house.

Khon Kean must have 1 million 632 thousand more residents then the maybe a thousand residents our village has, I would venture to say no where near the country, not a rice farming village anymore than Pattaya is.

I would not allow my wife's family to live in the state you state your in laws live in, but not indicative of the salt of the earth conditions you seen to think all rice farmer live in, most of the wooden houses have been replaced in our village by new modern structure , as the people team up and help each other improve their living conditions.

Life is great in a rural village far away from the Farang infested Ghettos!

  15. One must keep in mind what the topic on the thread is that prices are dropping for rice in Thailand, and it is not because of a decrease in the international price, and the forces of supply and demand, it is internal monopoly on rice middleman that is taking advantage of the Thai Rice farmers.

When it cost more to produce the rice then you can sell it for it is time to look into other crops to grow or to leave farming completely and sell you crop land to developers!

Thailand has lost its ranking on rice exporting that it will never gain again by paying lower prices to the farmer!

    Cheers

"When it cost more to produce the rice then you can sell it for it is time to look into other crops to grow or to leave farming completely and sell you crop land to developers!"

Well what do you know, a rational statement! Now explain why you support a government that wasted B800+ billion on subsidies and corruption rather than adopt this philosophy.

I have asked you a number of times to document how many baht are missing and from what part of the budget, not one yellow supporter has been able to do that, if billions of baht are missing tell how much and from where in the the budget.

If in fact all this money is missing would not the NACC know that in their year investigation and only charge Yingluck with negligence.

I am inclined to believe you are only stating B/S and have no idea of any missing money, only repeat any untruth the lair Suthep states.

  17. Ex-interior minister Charupong's statement of support for the UDD platform at the UDD rally - which included secession - and Ko Tee's deliberate baiting of Prayuth - are the clearest examples of defiance in the development of this unconstitutional and dangerous movement. Although Prayuth has already filed charges with the police, the police of course are doing nothing about it. Because the police and the former Yingluck administration are doing nothing about it, let alone not even acknowledging the movement exists - Ko Tee is emboldened, and so the movement strengthens. This is a very dangerous set of developments, and they coincide with Pheu Thai's final push against the judicial system, with the filing of impeachment charges on members of the Constitutional Court and the NACC. Of all the warning signs, these are the strongest. And they are happening at the same time. The courts are empowered to enforce the constitution. But if they are stopped or removed, only the army can defend them, and by extension society itself.

The DP has fallen for the secession bait hook line and sinker and so have the royalist media - you too. Got your attention, didn't they, the reds up north. Do you really believe the reds would or could organize an 800,000 member militia, or want to secede? Secession would be so radical and extreme that only extreme radicals would seriously consider it. While there are extreme radicals on each side, the extreme radicals predominate on the DP and old guard side, not to mention at TVF.

Prayuth filed pro forma charges then backed off. Gen Prayuth and his generation of commanders across the armed forces know a coup or military intervention would do more to destroy the country than could anything or anyone else. Prayuth and his commanders recognize that their coup written and imposed 2007 constitution is not accepted throughout the land and that it in itself is a divisive force and factor. Gen Prayuth is trying to project calm and self-restraint whilst others to include certain TVF posters lose their heads. .

Great post, The Army realizes the real threat to the country and further hatred as been the hallmark of the PDRC will cause unbelievable devastation to the country and the class division will last a lot longer then the ill effects of the 2006 coup, I see the military coming out on the only side that offers a lasting solution, that is am election where all will have their say at the ballot box.

It seems like the Army will throw its weight behind a just solution, as they know antagonizing the majority of the population is not the road to a lasting peace for Thailand!

    Cheers
