I've had a closer look and there's nothing untoward about the scales. As you can see from the photo, the swelling is more on the left side than the right. Does that tell you anything?

I could use the pond salt, but there's about a thousand pla hang in there too, would it kill them?

Not if it's guppies. They actually do better with some salt in their water.

Please make sure you calculate the volume of water in your pond correctly if you add the salt, and take into account when diluting it in the future when you do water changes and also beware of it getting more concentrated dire to water evaporation.  You don't want to kill all your fish by adding too much salt.

I would take the sick fish out for treatment, as it will need a stronger concentration of salt than will be healthy for the other fish over a longer time.

  2. The pond salt is sold in the aquarium / aquatic shops. It's not expensice.

You  can use any watertight container as a bath, Eg, a plastic storafe box, child's paddling pool, old bath, etc.

You should add an air stone and use an air pump to provide oxygen in the small amount of water in the salt bath.

And don't forget to cocer the top with something heavy, like a sheet of wood or tie a plastic sheet down over it, otherwise the fish may jump out.

  3. Sorry to hear about your poorly koi fish.

Usually a swim bladder problem will not affect the way the fish body looks..it would not make it swell up like that. The only symptom of swimmer bladder disease is either becoming too buoyant or too heavy to swim normally.

I can not tell by the photo, but are it's scales sticking out or raised like a pinecone?  If so that is a condition called 'dropsy'. This will also cause the fish body to swell up.

Or, it could be a combination of both disorders.

Either way I would do the same treatment.

Look up on the Internet about salt baths for koi. This involves putting the affected fish into a water bath with concentrations of aquarium / pond salt dissolved in it for set periods of time until they recover. Make sure to use water from the pond and not tap water because of the dangerous chlorine.

Many koi keepers regularly do this as a precaution to prevent diseases.  Or even have a lower concentration of pond salt in the pond water all the time. This kills parasites and improves the fishes healthy. However it means you can't grrow aquatic plants or keeps other kinds of fish and animals in the pond other than koi and goldfish.

I would also change the sick fishes diet.  Sometimes the food can cause the fishes intestines to boat up with air, particularly the cheaper brands of floating food sticks.  Starve the fish a few days and when start to feed again make sure not not overfeed it...and include high fiber foods such as pens and leafy vegetables like lettuce.

If you have the paperwork saying that you are the owner, then call the cops.

Nobody can legally stop an owner from entering/living in his own property or leasing it out.

They are essentially illegally squatting in your unit.

We don't have the place register for the blue book in our name. They never got the blue book registered at the land office..

Do you have some document saying that you bought/own the condo unit as leasehold or foreign freehold?

If yes, talk to the cops, show them proof of ownership, and tell them you are illegally being denied access to your property and ask them to intervene.

If that doesn’t work, ask a Thailand lawyer to write a letter to the developer, warning of legal action unless they give you access to your property within two weeks. Should only cost a few thousand baht for the letter.

if they are conning you they are probably conning others. Create a group on here or on facebook etc for conned owners of that project. Perhaps as a last resort you can take the developer to court as a group.

Yes. We have all the documents showing payments. We also have all the replies and excuses they sent to us.  We also have their emails promising us payments from renting it out... Many.... Payments we never got.

Maybe they ask because if it’s not life savings it could be easier to walk away, although I would not do that. Have you tried approaching a law firm outside Phuket for advice like Siam Legal? Many families are all tied in with that island.
    All the best.

I tried our lawyer in Chiang Mai, who we have used for many years and is really good and trusted. and he told us only a Phuket lawyer was allowed to act on Phuket matters. The lawyers had to be from the province the problem was in.

I will however contact Siam Legal and see if they say the same. Thank you.

How much was the condo for?

What's that have to do with anything?

Anyway, seems my partner may be right... It might be better for our sanity to just walk away.

Its a horrible feeling knowing I've been conned and am powerless to do anything about it.

  7. After a long dispute over our condo ownership, I am now looking for a good lawyer in Phuket. Basically we paid in full for a Condo and after completion they refused to register it in our name and now won't allow us in it and are renting it out to tourists.

I have contacted several lawyers, but none but one replied to me, and  the one that did was asking for £7000 upfront...and would not  give me any idea if they would be sucxessful.

After the problems with our condo we are worreod about trusting a lawyer and throwing more money away. My partner wants to walk away from it and give up as its so stressful.

We also have returned to the UK now and will have to correspond with the lawyer from there for the most part.

Cam anyone recommend from, personal experience, a lawyer in Phuket that we can trust?

The ignorance in that post is stunning.

    Why?

    Is what I said incorrect?

    You are not Jewish?

You do not side with Isreal becauae of your race?

Jewish people were not give that place and give a new country after the war?

That country didn't  belonged to peolpe already and the west used force agsis them to comply?

And, Isreal did not expand further into that country as their population grew, beyond their designated limits?

    Is that not correct?

It seems that their identity is not dependent upon their practice of their religion, rather upon their ethnicity. An ethic hatred going back for thousands of years, and which led to the emergence of Zionism.

In all the pogroms and persecutions down the centuries, those who could be described as "secular" have suffered as much as the religious. One only has to look at the meticulous details with which the Nazi regime (as epitomised by Adolf Eichman) classified "mixed Jews", Jews who had converted to Christianity, and their children, and slated them to extermination. For every chap in a long gaberdine coat, a furry hat and ringlets, dozens of otherwise unremarkable men women and children were killed. The same is true of modern day Israel, the bulk of whose population are no more religiously devout or immediately religiously identifiable than are Christians in European countries; perhaps in contrast to those who call for their death or extermination.

Israel is the only country in that region which has a democratic government, open political debate, religious freedom, and respects the rights of all it's citizens, majority or minority. That is why I, a non Jew, respect it's right to exist and it's right to defend itself. I happen to be an English Catholic, and I am not interested in their religion l, although it shares some close scriptural links with mine, but I am extremely interested in, and support, their society, because of the qualities I list in the first sentence of this paragraph, qualities which, bizarrely, I would regard as core principles in  " a Christian society"; perhaps I could be listed, were Eichman and his soul-less Satanic bureaucracy still compiling their lists, as a Zionist by association!

    Thank you for explaining that.

So, i see it's about race.  That's really tragic.

Thar makes it even more crazy that the different groups hate each other, because if you did  genetic analysis on the the Jewish race in that ages, theyand the Arabs are the same race lol. It's only their religion that is different.

    Stupid post

    It's about Jewish people

For thousands of years Jewish people were persecuted in the diaspora.

Pogroms, mass expulsions, then the Shoah

The POLITICAL ideology of Zionism was thus developed based on the fact that life in the diaspora was not viable.

So Zionism was materially realized in the founding of the state of Israel as the Jewish homeland

Being religious is optional. Its the homeland of the Jewish people. You're confusing religion and people.

Israel with an Arab majority would no longer be Israel. Arabs would change the name to Palestine and mass murder and expel the Jews.

Israel will never passively allow that.

So how are Jewish people different from other human beings, apart from their religious beliefs?

Seems religion is the root cause of all this.  It's a shame people can't give up the primative  religious idea of all religions and just accept we are all the same...then stop fighting over made up fairy stories.

Its also not moral or progressive to keep different 'races' of people separated. What is the point to that apart to divide people and create frictions?

I don't know the answer to this current war, but I am sure both sides are proud and after bloodshed and revenge for past things and definatly religion plays a major part in that.

You listened to that extremist lying Israel demonizer?

Israeli citizenship is open to non Jews upon application criteria.

But it is open to most Jews based on Jewish ancestry.

    But guess what?

Many countries offer citizenship based on ancestry.

But Jew haters focus on Israel.

Also note that the rest of the Arab world and Middle East is almost completely Jew free.

    Google Jewish nakba.

It's pathetic. Haters obsess about the existence of one tiny Jewish state in a world with so many Islamic, Christian, Buddhist majority countries.

As far as allowing Arab right of return beyond the existing 20 percent Arabs that are Israelis, Israel can never do that and remain Israel.  The Arabs would become a majority and end the point of Israel, the one nation homeland with a Jewish majority.

Of course Jew haters and Israel demonizers would love that.

Israel isn't about to commit suicide to please their enemies.

So what if another religion becomes the majority?  The country  will still be called Israel.

What if Jewish people  there become less religious or athiest in the future...will they be kicked out of the country for not being Jews?

Developed countries are rightly evolving to be more multicultural and ethically mixed, and strive for diversity and equal rights.

This boils down to being extremely racist purely on religious grounds.

It's like those crazy American  Christian white supremicisrs wanting to keep their white superior

race pure and free from interracial marriage, and some Jewish people wanting to keep the Jewish race pure?

I hope you don't think your religion or race are superior to others

Israel to my knowledge doesn't allow non Jews to become israeli citizens ( the present Arab citizens of israel were already living in the area that became israel and hadn't been driven out ), and definitely don't allow any Palestinan refugees living outside the israeli/ West Bank border to return to their own property.

Wow really?  Well, that goes to show how racist they are!

Both sides of this war are as bad as each other.  Let them fight it out themselves. We can't solve these problems for these people. They will never be happy with any compromise.

They don't care about their civillians, the children....those in power only care about getting more control and more power..

Fancy Isreal not allowing non Jews to become citizens. Imagine their anger if the UK, Europe of America did allow Jews to become citizens! Idiots.

  13. Why don't they just surrender and become part of Isreal?

    That would end the war.

They are the same people. The only difference is their stupid religions.

It's crazy in this day and age people will wage war and see innocent children and their famlies get killed due to being stubborn about made up religious beliefs and land borders.

We are all humans and all the same. Why on earth can't people just relax and get along?
