  1. By they way I have asked one reputable visa agent and they have said it's impossible to do. I wonder if it's because it's going to be an F visa category extension...
  2. Thanks for your response. It should be possible to have the cancellation of old WP overlap with the new one so that there is no break in the WPs and it needn't be done on exactly the same day. The thing is the office are saying it's easier to do this by applying for a new F visa abroad, rather than trying to do the change of extension of stay in Thailand. There is a general reluctance I've noticed for enabling the in-country change - I know countless people who've been sent to Vientiane for new visas instead of doing the change here. I'd much rather do it all in one go here, especially since I'm looking to apply for PR soon so I don't want any breaks in my extensions of stay.
  3. Hi, My work contract is changing and I will be switching from a non-B extension of stay to F (for me and my dependents who are non-O). Also getting new work permit. Ideally I would be able to do this at Chaeng Wattana but it seems the done thing is to go to a neighbouring country to apply for a new F visa at the embassy. Anyone have any experience of switching from non-B to F in a day at CW, is it possible? Or if applying in a neighbouring country embassy, which country is best, Lao, Cambodia, other? Thanks!
  4. Thanks NanLaew, I phoned the DLT hotline, they said if owner is abroad need: copy of their passport, power of attorney letter, and letter handing over ownership of car. Documents have to be signed by hand. At Chatuchak DLT it's building 2 floor 2. Fingers crossed it'll work.
  5. So the owner of a car has left Thailand (non-immigrant visa has expired, no longer lives in Thailand) and wants to transfer ownership of their car to someone in Thailand. How can this be done? The car is just being transferred not sold. Can a proof of address from their current country be used, alongside power of attorney, for the new car owner to do the transfer of ownership on their behalf? Thanks.
  6. When my dad was on his deathbed, my mum was able to do his retirement extension for him (both foreigners). She was required to take a photo of him holding the day's newspaper. She already had power of attorney for his bank.
  7. Sorry, another couple of questions: 1) I thought 30 day entry could only be extended by 15 days? Is this 30 day extension special (1st covid extension) or is 30 days the standard extension for a visa-exempt entry? 2) Is this done at IT Square Laksi Plaza or at Chaeng Wattana?
  8. Thank you both. If she does a 30 day extension first she will have a 1 or 2 day overstay before departing. Risky?
  9. Hi, my mum arrived on a 30 day stamp after her tourist visa application wasn't approved on time (3 weeks later still not approved). She arrived on Sunday and the COVID visa extension last day is 25th July. Would she still be eligible to apply for the Covid extension even if she's only been here 7 days (i.e. more than 15 days remaining on entry stamp)? What are the requirements please apart from the fee (1900 baht), I can't find info on the immigration website. Thanks!
  10. Is this really the case? We are looking to change my partner's from non-B extension to non-O dependent extension as he plans to leave his job. I've been told he can do the change domestically. For the e-visa you cannot do it in Singapore unless you are Singaporean, but can you do it in person (apply for a non-O in Singapore) as a non-Singaporean who doesn't live in Singapore? (edit to clarify extension of stay rather than visa)
  11. Thanks, but I feel like in practice employers prefer the worker to get a non-B. But good to know it's not a legal requirement.
  12. If someone is here on a non-O dependent visa (partner has B visa) can they work legally and obtain a work permit without having to change to a non-B visa? I suspect not since the annual extension of stay would be tied to the working partner's work permit, rather than their own work permit? Thanks!
  13. Thanks both. Currently he has no re-entry permit. If for whatever reason he needed to do a trip out of Thailand before March, would he apply for the re-entry in the new or old passport?
  14. Hello again. This time another family member has a new passport. Is there a time limit on when he has to go to immigration to transfer his stamps from old to new passport? New passport is ready, annual extension of stay is not due till mid-March - can he wait till then and do it all at once? Thanks.
  15. I have a new Australian passport. I asked the embassy for a letter for immigration for the visa transfer but they said it wasn't necessary, just the stamp in the cancelled passport saying it has been superseded by passport number XYZ would be sufficient. Is this ok do you think? Also when I was last in Trendy doing a British passport application, another man was there demanding (rudely) a letter for immigration for his visa transfer and the HMPO VFS people said they don't do one either... Just to add I'm also doing my extension of stay at the same time.
  16. It doesn't work on any of my devices (no VPN) registered to my Google account. However I have managed to install it on my husband's phone and save the TM30 report for my baby! Thank you Joe!! What a palaver.
  17. Thanks Ubon Joe, unfortunately I've never been able to get this app to work, it says it's not available in my country. Even though my Google account is now registered to Thailand. Frustrating!!
  18. Online TM30 problems: my baby son entered Thailand for the first time with a 90 day non-O in October (he was born here and got a visa in the UK). I've just realised he needs a TM30 for the extension but the website is not accepting his entry, it keeps saying (in Thai) there is an error when I press save, but I can't figure out what. Any tips to get it to work? We are going to CW in 10 days for the annual extension of stay for which he will be my dependent. As my husband and I arrived with re-entry permits on our existing extensions of stay I think it doesn't matter if we can't do a new online TM30, correct?
  19. Ah, I have figured it out. I couldn't find the confirmation of application on the e-visa site because it required scrolling horizontally. The confirmation states that I should include a return Special Delivery envelope.
  20. Hi, I've completed the online e-visa application and now need to post my passport to the embassy. However, there are no instructions on this and the phone lines are jam packed. I will send my passport special delivery guaranteed by 1pm. Do I include the same envelope for the return? Or just normal tracked pre-paid? Or just a self-addressed envelope and they will send it back special delivery? Thanks for your advice, I'd prefer to be able to track the passport's return if possible!
  21. You have to do it through the online platform and then post in your passport for the visa stamp. https://www.thaievisa.go.th/
  22. Hounddog, did you have to send a prepaid special delivery envelope with your passport? I've done all the application online but they are very vague on the actual mechanisms of posting - I'm going to send in the passport by Special Delivery and include a pre-paid Special Delivery envelope for the retun - is that what you did? Thanks!
  23. Thanks again Joe. Leaving within the week so it's a bit too late. Depending on when we return to Thailand I will either get a new one in the UK, or here if we return with enough time. It only takes 3 weeks to be made. It would be great if quarantine requirements are removed for returning here but I'm not holding my breath!
  24. Thanks Joe. Current passport doesn't expire till May next year, but the non-B needs renewing in December and having a new passport would ensure the extension of stay can be for one year (is this correct? My office says if passport expires in May, extension of stay will expire in May too - or would it be till Dec 2022 and I would transfer it to a new passport if I got one made in early 2022? I thought the latter was the case but my office recommends having a new passport before doing the annual extension) The other factor is in case we don't return till December, it means my passport will definitely have more than 6 months validity I'm arrival in Thailand.
  25. Is it possible to get a COE issued for a new passport, with your non-B visa remaining in a cancelled passport? The Australian embassy in Bangkok is closed for new passport applications so I will likely get a new one in London. They will cancel will my current passport which has my non-B visa in it. Will this create complications when applying for a COE to return to Thailand?
