1. Outstanding article.

"...Yet, there is no government in the world that has been prosecuted for launching a policy it promised while campaigning for votes..."

This is what makes what the NACC, NLA and the Supreme Court want to do, sending Yingluck to jail, unbelievable. Did Yingluck stand behind an ill-conceived program, did she ignore problems, did she fail to stop an obvious train-wreck...almost certainly partly or wholly true on all counts. However, politicians do not get sent to jail for this.

So NACC, NLA and everyone else in the Bangkok elite if you want this country to fall apart in front of the world then go ahead and send Yingluck to jail. Even if there is no intention of sending her to jail, just continuing this farce is damaging to the country.

The point is, they should go to jail for this and other crimes they commit while in office!!! This was not just a bad mistake on the part of the PTP. This was a finely crafted attempt to rob the country blind.

The only reason it failed is because once again Taksin pushed too hard (just like when he changed the constitution while in power so he could sell a Thai utility to a foreign company, then not pay any taxes on it).

If he was able to push through his amnesty bill then he would have skated from this as well. This is corruption and embezzlement on an unprecedented scale. It is time to show Thailand that this will not be tolerated.

Future politicians need to understand that they are there to serve the people not there to steal from them with impunity.

  2. Yeah if I was the USA I would try and shed a poor light on this current political situation as well. If there is one developed county in the world that could really benefit from a coup and some political reform it is the USA. They have one of the most corrupt and dysfunctional governments on the planet.

Congress needs a good kick in the ass. Lobbyists should be outlawed. Stop the banks and bog business from owning congress and the senate.

Democracy running wild with no checks and balances and corrupt politicians is what screwed Thailand in the first place. This is the ONLY way to fix it. Let's hope it works.

  3. I completely disagree. Politicians should not get any different treatment than any other criminal. They make the laws so they write them in a way that gives them special privileges.

IMO, they should be held to a higher standard and therefore a higher punishment when they are convicted of a crime especially when that crime is a direct action of their position of influence and power.

If an embezzler flees his country then he is arrested and extradited (when possible). The same should go for politicians.

They get into politics to be a better criminal and avoid punishment. We need to put an end to this everywhere in the world. If the common man is accountable for his crimes then politicians should be as well.

Of course the only exception to this rule is for bankers and other big business leaders that have bought and paid for their politicians. They never face punishment either. Laws are obviously just put in place for the man, not the elite.

    Time for a change.

  4. I like how the photo Op has it look like Yingluck is actually talking to this guy. She refused to debate the opposition going into the erection. She refused to talk to the NACC and NLA to answer questions related to her ineptitude and corruption. If she actually talked then I am sure she looked like the stooge that she is.

And what business does the US have talking to an impeached PM anyway? Goes to show that the US has their money tied up with the Shin's. The US doesn't stick their nose in the do whats right, they stick their nose in to protect their financial interests (you don't see the US putting much effort to resolving the crimes against humanity in Nigeria with Boko Haram, no money in it).

I suggest the US does some quick damage control on this, as stupid stunts like this will alienate Thailand and push them closer to relations with China.

  5. Moving into full McCarthyist mode now.

    Absolutely stupid comment!!!

These people broke the law to push through Taksin's agenda. Nothing more nothing less. It is time to pay the piper and begin to change the culture of Thais to show them that there is accountability and there is consequences to your actions.

I hope they all get convicted and the sooner the better. End this Shin scourge once and for all. Only then will this country have a chance at moving forward.

  6. What a stupid headline. 190 voted against her and only 38 voted for her. That means almost everyone voted against her not only military. They go on the say an additional 40 senators that are her enemies voted against her.

Voting against her had nothing to do with being an enemy, military or anything other than these people are trying to do the right thing. She was inept, and corrupt and she over played her hand (or her brothers overplayed his hand as he always does). Now it is time to pay the piper.

The 38 that voted for her escaped impeachment. No biased voting there I guess? They all deserve what is coming to them. I just hope they get it (not likely).

Starting to think this karma think is a bunch of crap.

  7. great!! let them go at each other. The west and everyone else should just step out of this and let these animals go after each other. Put harsh sanctions on each of these countries. Don't allow any refugees into our western countries and get these guys to straighten it out internally or live their lives like cavemen.

Unfortunately this will leave millions of people living under these various regimes but with the west out of it, these people will learn very quickly who the real devil is (their own clerics and religious zealots).

Then maybe after some time they will stand up for themselves and realize that religion has no place in government. they need to grow up and stop looking to post blame on others. Their lives are crap because they think Allah will provide everything they need.

Also hard to get any work done if you are praying all day.

    ExPratt post # 2.

He actually looks like him in the picture

Ruined his chances of ever being taken seriously again

I recall the Hitler image in the Government video thread . This might tell those who didn't believe it how offensive many people in the West find Hitlers image ,

Agree, however I personally find the abominable face of the rabid Jihadist even more repulsive, see the image below.

Excuse my ignorance , who is it ?

Just because this guy may also be evil, does not take away from how truly evil and sick Hitler was. Perhaps given the chance this guy might kill millions but Hitler already is responsible for tens of millions of murders. Don't try to make light of that.

  9. The Thais need to learn that there IS accountability for your actions, whoever you are. It is the governments roll to make sure this happens. Start with the politicians and the police and the rest of society will eventually fall in line. It will take at least a generations to change the culture of this country (maybe a few life times), but you have to start or you will never get there.

  10. Yes its just so exciting . I wonder what will happen ?

Exatly. There is no excitement because the verdict was written into the script a long time ago.As "any fule kno" this has almost nothing to do with the rice price support policy. The epauletted Daleks do the bidding of those who hate democracy and hold their fellow Thai citizens in contempt. Will it all work? Yes, in the short run.In the long run it will fail of course.

Any fool can pretend all things are "part of a bigger picture, a conspiracy, or should be judged on what's best for the country as a whole" to suit their agenda.

Thaksin and his puppet parties have shown time and again that they hold their fellow citizens in contempt and care not one bit for democracy and the rule of law.

Until politicians are held accountable, under a rule of law, enforced by a real justice system, nothing will change apart from the names of those in office.

Someone wise once said the only real difference between communists and fascists was the way they salute. How appropriate as a metaphor.

You hit the nail on the head:

under a rule of law, enforced by a real justice system

The current process is far from a real justice system, and the rule of law is being made up as they go along in order to arrive at the desired result.

A good example is the NACC using dubious, and very unethical, tactics to declare that Yingluck would be indicted, when this is not the case according to OAG. And the NACC is supposed to represent the moral compass of the country!

This process is nothing more than a witch hunt, and the current group in power has shown to be just as corrupt and self-serving as the last.

Or another way of looking at it is that the OAG is bought and paid for, and might be the next group in the hot seat if they don't get their heads out of their <deleted> and do their damn job!!!
