  1. The topic is not related to the 'reality of conflict', but to Australian SF using criminal methods, under orders, 'bloodying'. If 'bloodying' is considered the reality of war and acceptable behaviour by Western military forces, please advise. You could of easily ascertained for yourself, of alleged war crimes which were the outcome of a four year investigation. The investigation took so long due to systematic coverups by the accused and their colleagues which in itself is criminal activity. As SUJO mentioned, it would have saved a lot of time if you and to be fair, others, informed yourselve
  2. Given you apparent interest in the matter I find it unbelievable you haven't informed yourself prior to posting. Accordingly I can only conclude you're trolling. For those who haven't read the report linked below, but heavily redacted... https://afghanistaninquiry.defence.gov.au/sites/default/files/2020-11/IGADF-Afghanistan-Inquiry-Public-Release-Version.pdf Alternatively... https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-11-19/afghanistan-war-crimes-report-igadf-paul-brereton-released/12896234
  3. Obviously not the case regards this matter. It's alleged the murder of restrained POIWs and civilians for the purpose of 'bloodying'; by any measure, if proven guilty, war crimes.
  4. Nonsensical comment - not my allegations, but the outcome of an ADF review lasting four years
  5. Churchill recognised if the Allies had lost the war, they would be put of trail for 'terror bombing'. However one on one murders of the purpose of 'bloodying' is a very different matter.
  6. The circumstance you outline do not apply to the allegations, they were after combat cold blooded murders of the unarmed for the purpose of 'bloodying' those SF who had not already killed. Rather than constant repetition of irrelevant posts it would make a pleasant change for members to actually inform themselves of the background for the allegations prior to posting.
  7. Your post has nothing to do with alleged war crimes by Australian SF against restrained POWs and civilians in Afghanistan. BTW are saying Selous Scouts and 32Bn committed the same crimes, murdering POWs and civilians and in your opinion that's OK?
  8. Wrong. Decision to release was based on sustained pressure by Australian government for the past year. Got to assume there were some secret incentives in the deal. If anyone is to 'blame' it would be Oz domestic politics.
  9. Here in Australia it has been confirmed the ex Ambassador to Iran was in close contact with Thai government officials for the past year negotiating the release of the Iranian terrorists in exchange for the Australian held hostage in Iran. Kind of a mockery of 'we don't negotiate with terrorists' One assumes Australian politics dictates release of prisoner / hostages in Iran for domestic consumption.
  10. So far as i know Taliban have never launched attacks in Western countries. The mission was to destroy al Qaeda and their sanctuaries in Afghanistan; the mission was only partially successful as Western forces and Afghan allies failed to stop hundreds, if not thousands of al Qaeda people entering Pakistan. (from memory the owner of the failure was Rumsfeld). Not removing Taliban in depth was a stuff up by the then US administration due to switching resources and focus to Iraq, thus to years of the ongoing misery of war in Afghanistan. With reference to events surrounding the OP, I
  11. Due process is being adhered to; the soldiers have two weeks to show cause why they shouldn't be fired i.e. appeal
  12. Hopefully trump world will transition into oblivion in the not too far future
  13. Only noise; IMO you're slagging off Biden just because he's Biden
  14. 10% of the US population has an Irish heritage - domestic politics will also be at play. The US has had a long involvement with the Northern Ireland peace process.
  15. Democrat Joe Biden was certified Tuesday as winner of the presidential election in Pennsylvania, culminating three weeks of vote counting and a string of failed legal challenges by President Donald Trump. https://apnews.com/article/election-2020-joe-biden-donald-trump-pennsylvania-elections-8a61a1609d7a0d60c1db13fa8e7c3019
  16. Atypical trump world response. WAPO does permit a number of site visits, plus the articles are often available via other media sources, just do a search, but obviously you're not interested. However, your recommended research sources are?
  17. A few starting points for a reality check on the trump administration. https://www.epi.org/publication/reshoring-manufacturing-jobs/ https://www.businessinsider.com.au/how-nato-budget-is-funded-2018-7?r=US&IR=T https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/08/26/trumps-bewildering-history-lesson-obama-crimea/
  18. The fact trump welcomed QAnon weirdos into government is enough for him to be assessed as unfit to represent the Office of the President of the USA. So happy the US electorate got rid of trump - hope the Dems can win the two outstanding Senate allocations.
  19. Same as trump, accusation, but unsupported; accordingly how about some factual backup to your claims?
  20. Immunity has been offered to SF members (so far I understand 9 people) willing to testify against those who ordered them to unlawfully kill.
  21. The question is will his base accept defeat - Answer; No. In the meantime trump is making every effort to sour the Biden presidency to the detriment of the American people he is sworn to protect. Unfortunately the vindictiveness and attacks on the foundations of good governance will continue for the coming two months under trump.
  22. After weeks of farce consisting of disinformation and lies from trump, sullying his name forever as a poor loser, Biden can now commence the transition process. https://www.nytimes.com/live/2020/11/23/us/joe-biden-trump
  23. Trump has finally accepted the truth; Biden won the election! https://www.nytimes.com/live/2020/11/23/us/joe-biden-trump
  24. Naturally timing is subject to allocation of volume of units available and resources for wealthy countries, not so for the poorer nations as the wealthy counties have forward purchased available production. https://www.dw.com/en/g20-angela-merkel-worried-over-affordable-covid-19-vaccine-rollout/a-55694311
  25. Looks like it's finally over for trump. Chris Christie has called out trump's legal team challenges for the election 'a national embarrassment'. Remember Christie assisted trump with preparing for the election 'debates'. https://edition.cnn.com/2020/11/22/politics/chris-christie-donald-trump-election/index.html
