  1. I prefer not to be the bringer of bad news but …

    Passport Office

3 April - 5 May - Passport Office staff in Durham, Glasgow, Liverpool, Newport, Peterborough and Southport

7 April - 5 May - Passport Office staff in Belfast

Members of the PCS union will walk out for five weeks across England, Scotland and Wales while those in Northern Ireland will strike for four weeks.

The union said the action is a "significant escalation" in the long-running dispute as it warned the strike will have a "significant impact" on the delivery of passports as summer approaches.

  2. Well here we are at the first day of registration for AZ at Payathai 2.

At 08.42 the homepage would not open to access the registration link (at 09.00) due to an unsafe connection. So I thought maybe they were sorting out the registration document at the server and it would come back up at 09.00.

No such luck, but finally it returned at 09.28 saying tough sh*t this form is no longer accepting responses and has has automatically closed we’re done for the day.

    Did anyone get in?

IMO, and with due respect to those self-isolating - the casual attitude to Covid19 shown by many backpackers and irresponsible expats in all major tourist areas is now resulting in an increase of infection rates. It's becoming clear that what goes around comes around.

I hope the message sinks in at last.

Include irresponsible Thai nationals in that ???? we’ve had people carrying on as normal in our Pathumthani village.

As ex-pats we’re seeing our homelands being seriously affected which makes us more aware of the devastating possibilities.

Hold a gun to their head ?

If all answers a resounding NO ...

Put it down to the continuing cost of your education

Were they coerced ? Yes... it’s normal ????‍♂️

Did the sales people and / or the dealership lie to them? Of course......it’s normal industry practice ????

Does anyone know if you can get a similar service to track usage history on the PEA website? I looked but I see nothing obvious. This app on a phone is good but I would prefer a website or a way to download my history in to a spreadsheet or something.

THis is what the PEA app shows in the way of history for the year. Not sure if you can look back further somehow.

  7. TV memebers might be interested in this application from the Provincial Electricity Authority, makes keeping an eye on your electricity use and expenditure easy by downloading the PEA app.

If you own more than one home or have rentals you can add multiple meters and see what’s been consumed and what payment is due as well as being able to pay via the app.

Both English and Thai language can be selected.

I have various online bank accounts and have just had a look at my Kasikornbank account.

I can't see anything for the PEA or PWA. Under the list for Public Utilities it only has MEA, unless, I'm looking in the wrong place?

    See the two screenshots:

Are you using the mobile app?

when the PWA link is opened it opens the bar code scanner and deducts the money from your account

  9. As a UK ex-pat resident in Thailand I am helping, or at least trying to help, a Thai couple navigate the Visa4UK application process but I am not altogether clear on some of the sections and wonder if our members can cast some light on the subject.

In the Employment and Income section the question asks what the cost of the trip is and specify the answer to be in GBP but not the other boxes.

Do they want all of the financial info in GBP or only that particular question?

Also the 'Amount of money for this trip?' is this referring to how much cash they will carry or what they intend to spend?

I intend to put notes in the addition information box at the end stating that they will carry VISA cards to cover any other purchases or expenses but anyone with similar previous experiences I would appreciate your feedback.

  10. Over a year ago when back in the mother country I had an Echo test done on my heart. They found I had:

    - mitral valve prolapse

    - slightly enlarged aorta

    - diastolic blood pressure issue the 120 over 60. the lower part of BP is not quite right apparently.

Yesterday I went to the gym, swimming at the beach, then later walking around shopping then went to the pub to see a band. 1/2 way through my beer I felt a strange feeling in my heart / chest area. Its hard to describe it to be honest. It wasnt stabbing pain but slight pain. Its happened before a month ago when I was having a beer.

I dont drink much at all these days but think now that I should not drink at all. I dont know if I should go and see a heart dr? By the time I go there is there any point as I feel fine now and its hard to even describe the pain to a Dr. I just read another post on this forum re complaint about a heart appointment he had about his mumur issue. I googled that and they did talk about mitral valve prolapse.

Also, just remembered that a few days ago at the beach I was joined by a friend and we were having a heated discussion about something and I started getting a pain in the back of my head.

This all might be nothing but thought I would seek opinions from anyone with medical knowledge.

    thanks

  11. Hmmm.....brake failure or fade because the clown had been sitting with his foot on the brake pedal getting them nice and hot for the descent instead of using his gearbox as sensible drivers do......especially professional drivers that have people's life in their hands.

    Oh yeah I almost forgot.....TIT
