  1. Last year more than 26.000 people died on the roads in Thailand. That's 500 a week! Every week. So why all the fuss during songkran? Get the laws applied every day!

After 3 days "only" 121 deaths that is twice less than any average day in Thailand. So why every year the authorities go berserk during songkran? It s the safest time of the year...

  2. I have just been told that one of my student s friend as been shot dead today. I don't know how it happened but it was related to the red shirts and the army. All I know. The girl was having her bd tomorrow.

It s safe and sage to close the schools tomorrow as we have NO idea what is happening now.

Poor girl. Sad times ahead again for Thailand. Hopefully it is not all on vein to see the same shit happening again.

    Am very pessimistic though.

  3. slowly.. they are getting the idea... but still in denial.

most of my friends are closing their business in Thailand and moving to neighbor countries...

Sorry Thailand but it is not just the floods or unrest... all your racist policies have paid... good job... the farangs are gone... guess u r happy with that... now have fun with middle east tourists...

  4. I used to be an English teacher in Thailand and once we had a seminar with a representative of the Ministry of Education. I asked her then "is it real that we cant fail students in Thailnd and why?" . The answer was "yes because it is not good for business"

Therfore as long as you cant fail kids... they DONT study... so dont waste your time about trying to improve anything.... the kids just dont study.

thats why the education is soooo bad in Thailand.

If u cant fail a kid... how can u motivate them to study???

  5. comment about the intro of the topic not about the article itself

...projected to grow as fast as 7.5 percent this year, and the government is pushing ahead with a program of “reconciliation” with its opponents. But even as Thailand pulls itself back together, there are concerns that deep-seated problems among its young people represent a quieter, long-term threat to the country’s future...

Since when is Thailand pulling itself back together???

The Reds and Yellows situation has not improved at all...

Tourism is still very very slow.. despite all the effort of the Government to make us believe the opposite

Huge tensions North and South... (cant fight with the sea East and West so that's cool)

The economy is projected to grow...

    Corruption is getting worse

Crime is rampant (Thailand was safe before)

    Many humans right abuses...

Let's wait for the next election and see how well Thailand pulls itself back together. ;o(

  6. Maybe they could let us know what the 'intelligence' is so we can all see for ourselves if there is indeed a threat, or is this information from the Suthep book of made up evidence., such as the crap on the PMs house, the grenades definitely fired from the park (evidence has since disproved this) etc etc etc.

If this guy told me it was raining outside I would still check, I wouldn't trust his as far as I could throw him.

There is no need for the decree to still be in place, I am sure if they saw a large rally forming they could enforce the decree again, and it seems it is only aimed at one group, the so called multicoloured rallied without arrests, so maybe he should just say it is only in place for the reds and anyone else can do as they please. That said isnt even the sitting of parliament breaching the decree?

How people see things depends mostly on how they saw things. Read this newsflash "http://www.nationmultimedia.com/home/2010/07/01/politics/The-Hunt-for-&039;truth&039;-continues-30132744.html", interesting.

...Your answer will most likely depend on your view of Thaksin, the September 2006 military coup, your ideas about Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and those supposedly "behind him"....

well not really the law is the law and it doesnt depend on what way youlook at the facts.... a fact is a fact

  7. has nothing to do with the PM....

It is just the way thais behave with foreigners that is an issue here

(double price, scam, theft at airport, murders , closing bars at 2am, paying for a company that will never be yours... )

if i remember well it is Tikki thats started to push the foreign investors out of Thailand with crazy racist laws.... and he made it... now they are gone to Vietnam, Lao, Cambodia... and not ready to come back

Foreigners get bored and they do remember things they dont forget after 6 months
