  5. I checked flights from Perth no economy but business class $12,000 AUD return , even their flights from Sydney economy are very expensive, Singapore airlines now has a stranglehold on flights from Australia to Thailand , still no flights direct from Brisbane , have to fly Qantas Brisbane to Sydney then they give you 75 mins to transfer from domestic to international terminal (in this time you have to disembark Qantas jet, collect bags , shuttle bus to international terminal , check in, clear customs ) talk about fine if not impossible
  6. What happens if you don’t stay in the one area all the time I.e you move around Thailand and stay a few months at a time , do you just do the 90 day report in the locality you are in? Same with extension just use the locality you are in even if you might only be staying in a hotel?
  7. So how do you get a Thai bank account on a visa exemption , I tried 2 banks in Koh Chang both denied me opening an account stating I need the non-o visa and an address in Thailand , even though I previously had Thai bank accounts with Bangkok bank and Krung Thai , I guess in Koh Chang they are not hungry for business like in Pattaya ?

  11. Btw I asked a more senior immigration officer at survanambui airport Sunday night (she had two bar/strips as rank insignia), I asked her if there is any truth to the limit on how many times per year you can come to Thailand on a 30 day tourist exemption , she said “no’ you can come as many time as you want , as i told her some travellers report that immigration officers on arrival have told them you can only come 2 times per year on 30 day visa exemption, she then Repeated ‘this is not true ‘ for everyone’s info

  13. I know airlines flying fro Australia want to see an onward ticket so if 30 day visa exemption arrival they need to see the ticket , explaining you intend to apply for an extension doesn’t cut it, as there is always the potential you are not granted the extension
  14. OP said ‘With the exchange rate being really bad at the moment I don't want to exchange £19,000 into Thai Bhat so I have the 800,000 for the retirement visa. I understand if I get a visa agent they can get me the visa without me needing the 800K. If I fly in on 30 day visa exempt, will this be enough time for the agent to get the retirement visa for me. I would be meeting the visa agent on the 2nd day after arriving, wont be leaving until the 3rd week.” me: I thought 800k was mandatory even with an agent ? sorry still can’t work out how your reply to a, specific post ? Can’t find the button
  15. Sorry if this off topic if you have a 30 day visa on arrival , is day 1 of the 30 days counted as the day of arrival , so if you arrive at 8pm at night that is counted as day 1 ? thank you
